I love how you created the ability to interact with the soft tissue and skin incision margin! This is so well done and creates such an immersive experience for the user. I also like the way you have provided guides/outlines to indicate tool placement. Well done!
This simulation is excellent! I’m one of the tech’s who cleans the equipment post surgery, and there are a ton of instruments that go along with cases like these. So I can’t help but think we might be missing some here! Surgeons all have their preference of which equipment to use so it would be interesting so see a few of the different ways this surgery can be completed, and I think testing different sizers to see which one would fit would also be beneficial, as our knee’s aren’t all one size! This is an awesome start, great work!
Good point and when our clients want us to make something, they determine how sand-boxy the experience is. Our medical VR sims dance between the lines of surgical demonstration and surgical training. Both have important purposes and goals, but ultimately, our clients have to determine how much time their customers will give them to experience their surgical products and sometimes it makes sense to make one that gets to the point quickly. Ideally, I'd like to make these with an option for surgeons to go deeper if they should wish to do so.
We can do blood too! We made a great simulation for cautery training VR program, but usually, surgeons prefer focusing on a very specific set of training goals. Orthopedic specialists who'd likely use this total knee robotic assist tech would have already mastered something a basic as suction and clamping.

Nearly all people lucky enough to live into their golden years exhibit some degree of arthritis in their knees. For some it is a minor inconvenience, for others it is incapacitating.
