Thanks for sharing. I don’t think most people understand how important it is to find the right oncologist. They just assume that their oncologist knows what’s best for them. Best wishes for healing! I’m sure sharing your story on different platforms has already saved lives! Bless you!

True. Just general practitioners today simply don't have a clue what they are doing. I have a couple story's that happened to me, too long to go into on here but our health care is profit based, thanks to President Nixon, and doctors basically go on a fishing trip with you trying to find something to make money off you by testing for completely unrelated things. Keeping you sick to keep the money flowing is the motto. Makes me sick how screwed up the American health care system is.

@@kvdme That's unfortunate.Aside from sores, rash and bone pain my body has adjusted really well to side effects In on OPDIVO ( nivolumab). Immunotherapy doesn't kill cancer cells it amps up your immune system to identify and attack cancer cells That's why side effects are so mild. You don't lose your hair on immunotherapy .Sadly at one point my immune system got a little to amped up and starting attacking good cells My thyroid and adrenal glands no longer function.I take medication for both now There seems to be quite a few others Sometimes in other patients I have heard dual treatment chemo and immuno gets good results.I wish they were at the point where gene editing was a available for stage 4 NSCLC.I would certainly encourage my thoracic oncologist to prescribe it Maybe it will be come a availabe for lung !

My mother got lung cancer at age 57. She had tried one cigarette in her entire life, when she was in her 20s. She was a nurse, VERY active. Her first symptoms were a constant cough (she couldn’t even speak over the phone for the coughing, it was that severe - she couldn’t go 3 seconds without coughing which obviously meant she had zero sleep for weeks). She also lost a dramatic amount of weight - around 3 stone in 3 weeks. By the time she was diagnosed (delayed because, like this lady - her GP thought it was a bad chest infection), it was terminal - in both lungs and the liver. I am glad this lady is doing good - we didn’t have the same treatments back then (my mother died two weeks after diagnosis, which is what the doctors told this lady she had to live - it’s great to see her well!)

DON’T EVER GIVE UP HOPE!!! If you still have breath left, use it to fight for what you want! I had a small pimple-like tiny lump on my left breast I found it one day when I was dressing to go out. I went to a doctor to have it check but since I was only 37 yo so he told me it was benign not to worry! But 2 weeks later that pimple started to itch, back to that same doctor to look at it again but he sent me home saying it is just irritated by my scratching at it!! In my heart I knew he was wrong, 🙄 intuitively I knew it wasn’t right so I called my gynecologist insisted for a referral for a biopsy on that pimple! Right away after that biopsy surgeon told me to wait in his office instead of sending me home, 30 minutes later the result came back, that pimple lump was cancerous!!! I had my left breast removed and a month later, on my own decision I also had my right breast removed because on X-ray, it showed calcification cells although it may or may not turn cancer later but I don’t want to mess with my life by waiting so I removed that breast, since there were no cancer cells detected in 28 lymph nodes, I didn’t have to go through any after treatment at all! I do breast reconstruction years later and I have been healthy & happy since! It has been 39 years ago! I feel very fortunate but I made a great decision to remove both breasts when I was advised to do one lumpectomy and to have a “wait-and-see” approach for the otherwise healthy right breast but I refused to listen to ‘so call professionals’ and be my own advocate instead!😤Losing 2 breasts is better than losing my life!!! I’ve had 2 breast Reconstructions and they were / are beautiful and I am so happy I listened to my intuition and live to have a quality longer life till today & still thriving! I eat healthy, work out with weights and I am 76 😀🍀!Yay🎉!

Not at ALL to make light of the situation here but as a reason to smile besides the strength of this lady can I call attention to how adorable it was that her daughter could be seen on the left trying to walk out of the hallway and then trying to be invisible and backing up out of view? That made me smile outside of the energy of the brave fighter we're hearing from. She's here today, and I hope she's still around and smiling when the stars burn out.

I am not by any means advocating for smoking but I noticed that everyone immediately thinks that smoking is the main cause of lung cancer and it's not, filling up your car with gas, read the signs on the pump, alcohol consumption is a major factor for developing cancer, poor diet.... So many contributing factors. Glad you were able to beat the cancer.

This amazing woman is so beautiful inside and out. It is so extremely kind that she has chosen to share her heartbreaking very personal story with so many others. I send warm good karma and prayers her way because her story is just so unfair. Single mothers have it rough enough ..this is heartbreaking. I am glad that she could do the targeted stuff. She continues to try to raise awareness that ANY person with lungs ... Anyone gorgeous and fit like she is....anyone short, tall, fat, skinny, ANYONE can get it...she continues to try to advocate and help others ....and for that I continue to hope and pray that there's a special place in Heaven for extra kind single mothers like she is. 🙏

Incredibly messed up situation. Poor sweet girl, what an angel.
I'm sure her and the kids value every moment together. Im a man and shes a whole lot stronger than me. I would have just laid down from the very beginning and i respect everyones choice rather to fight or lay down but her video is extremely valuable and moving to truly consider all options.
Hadn't her boss been ultra rich and stepped in she would have already been toast. Sad reality is money does buy more options and human dignity and intervention made a would of difference here.
We are all doomed in the end but im so glad shes givin a little more time.
    Live it.
    Thank you for your post.

Hi Lindsay, you dazzled me with your strength, courage, and your optomistic smile. Your story is incredible with the number of options available to you. I live in Canada with national health care, which is an amazing thing, but we are not able to select our specialists. You take what you get, and it doesn't always work out. Because of the salary cap that doctors have in this country, a lot of them are not truly motivated or have your best interest in mind. I'm so impressed with your story. God bless and live a long and healthy life.

I also have stage 4 cancer: melanoma, spread to my lymph nodes and both lungs... also caused by a gene mutation (A600 BRAF) and I take targeted therapy. I couldnt even wash myself and within 3 days of taking it I was up, walking to the corner store and cooking dinner. My first CT scan showed that the cancer had shrunk. I have no side effects for days and suddenly I'll have vomiting, nausea, chills, fever and dizzyness. I stop the targeted therapy for a few days and then start again. I can work again and will be on the therapy for life, or as long as I can afford the $3000 a month for the meds... Attitude is EVERYTHING!

Wow, what a story. Taking just a pill each day and all the cancer is gone in 2 weeks. You said the cancer was in your entire body and even your brain. If I develop cancer I want that
miracle pill. I already have excessive fatigue, weight loss, bone pain, anemia, heart disease, etc. I so wish Jenny Appleford was given your miracle pill. She suffered so terribly for almost 3 years and lost her hair from the brain radiation. It's amazing you kept your hair through brain radiation. You must be one of the lucky ones. I have lost many family members so young and dear friends to cancer.

    • @Locustandhoney
      @Locustandhoney 3 месяца назад +1

@@jeannebh65 It is not ugly nor shameful to ask questions. When scientists and doctors are censored and silenced and people are made to feel uncomfortable for wondering why so many people, young people are dying from cardiac arrest or seeing more friends and co workers fighting for their lives from cancer than statistically normal, you should wonder. When you search things up and you are bombarded with “fact checks” and “conspiracy theory” warnings you should wonder. There is a book that has never been wrong. That book says this would happen. It also says the deception will be so great that even those committed to it could be fooled. We don’t expect there to be such evil but if we don’t ask or don’t think or we succumb to the pressure to stay silent then we are part of it and that is truly shameful.

My sister was diagnosed with non small cell adenocarcinoma with ALK positive in September 23rd 2020 and was on both the meds that this lady describes at age 55. She had an 19 year old and a 16 year old. But unfortunately passed away after 8 months of targeted therapy as both treatments didn’t work. She had brain Mets and she became paralysed 3 1/2 months before she passed due too a tumour growing through her spine. And she she caught pneumonia. Cancer sucks. This ladies cancer is quite advanced but a positive mindset will help. I hope she makes the most of her time making memories.
