This is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated songs ever, written by, in my opinion, the most underrated songwriter ever. Its melody is so memorable.
Just found this song and I love it, so true, I would do it again just to see what I missed. They have so much good stuff out there, they stand on their own and don't need the RRHOF as long as we keep them playing here. Thanks to everyone who has posted so many beautiful songs and keep up the good work God I love these guys

I remember listening to this one Sunday when we came home from Church we got into the garage and just as we were pulling in my mother came out the door and we almost got her. Daddy was singing the chorus of this song and goes "Ooh oh oh....WOAH!" I about died laughing!
I remember the taste of my vintage wine. only mine was from 93 to 99. Not exactly proud of the things I stood for then. But ignorance is bliss so I would go back again. ^_^

I never understood why Ray Thomas didn't participate in the making of this album. There does appear to be a flute part on this track (synthesized by Patrick) that was probably written for him.
Error in the credits: Ray Thomas did not participate in the recording of "Vintage Wine", or any other track on "Sur La Mer", which is why the flute part had to be synthesized. I've never understood why he didn't, but in the album credits he is only listed as a member of the band.
