Just got my MC8, I’m using it to control my Chase Bliss pedals. So far I’m loving the MC8. It’s really allowing me to open up the capabilities of my pedals and do some really creative stuff. And the automated midi waveforms is an amazing feature!! I set it up with my Mood pedal and I’m getting some absolutely beautiful results
The waveform generators are so useful. Opens up all sorts of possibilities! I miss having the Tremble algorithm on the GFI Specular Reverb I used to own, but no problem now - I just use a generator to oscillate the mix on my reverb by holding a preset. Works like a charm! Thank you, Morningstar!
Wow, I just got my MC3 and thought I would be mainly programming simple presets, had no idea this was possible. I’ve actually really been wanting a tremolo reverb effect, can’t wait to program that with my Mercury7.

Would be could if you could draw your own waveforms like good old serum/fm8. Wish I could get the modulation out of the Fractal stuff. Also the latency of midi is frustrating especially with that whammy example. Cool video cool product obviously
Love it! I got an MC3 a few weeks ago and have it doing everything I bought it for. Was playing with the whammy effect on the HX today and this video is killer. Definitely going to play with that pitch shift you showed and will see whether I like a pedal-based kill switch.

Would love a small unit without switches to expand the functionality of existing midi controllers. Also would be great to have something using a envelop, i.e. controlling volume to achieve dynamic delay like TC 2290 etc.
Yes, definitely possible. As long as a parameter can be controlled by CC messages, it will work. We will release a video about H9 MIDI in the near future. In the example for creating the pitch shift, is there a way to keep the original pitch thus creating a harmony effect? In the example in the video, instead of a whammy effect it would be a 12-string effect. I guess the Waveform engine would have to have a mix control. Also, is there a way to create a wah-wah effect using the Waveform engine? Thanks for the help. Love your products and videos.
Hi. What you mentioned actually is dependent on the effects processor. Our MIDI controllers do not process audio. If you want to maintain some of the original pitch signal in the output, that will have to be done by the HX Stomp. As far as we know, the HX Stomp pitch shifter does not allow that.
Awesome stuff! Is there a way to use this functionality to temporarily drop the mix volume of a delay for a couple of seconds while tapping in a new tempo with MIDI clock tap? Specifically trying to adjust tempo mid-song on an analog delay without hearing the slowing down/speeding up sound. Thanks!
Yes, if you have an effects pedal that allows you control volume with MIDI. You can usE a once-only waveform to take volume down to zero, tap in your NEW tempo and then have it come back up with another once-only waveform after you’ve gotten your new tempo.
HELP ! The controller is still sending midi clock after I engage different preset on my BigSky. In the general configuration I switched off the midi clock persist and it´s still transmiting midi clock after I change preset on the controller.

Hi. From 3 August 2021, we moved to LCD screens with white backgrounds for the MC8. The Quality Control reject rate of the previous black ones was getting too high and we could not continue to use them. We changed all our product photos to reflect this change in color as well. Since then we've also had some customers ask how they can change their black screens to white (and vice versa). Both colors work great but the QC rejection rate was something we could no longer accept.
@@MorningstarEngineering I'll have to disagree on that. I have mine sitting on a board currently next to a Boss ES8 and the difference is chalk and cheese.
I was really exited about this having an ES8 which has a similar function until I realized there are only 4 engines :( ES8 has the potential for 16 per preset..... so in this demo you've used up 50% of the capability. This is the stuff that could make or break the MC series. Seems like it has the computing power, needs to be put to work.

Anybody in this sphere already has midi controllable devices, there's potential to take what are often amazing and certainly expensive effects pedals to a new level

Could you use this with an analog delay (art van, tonal recall etc) to act kind like a thermae (pitch shifting)
