    Anyone new to midi, towards the end of the video he touches on something that was a huge obstacle for me till he covered it. Any of your pedals that take midi can be set to a midi channel via the pedals global settings. never frikin knew that as I'm new to all thigns midi lol. I had pedals controlling other pedals at random times when turning knobs and couldn't figure it out. It was because they were chained together via midi and set to the same channel....whoops!

    Got stuck on the very first step. The video shows you pressing a button on the controller and it changes which bank and preset is being edited within the Editor on the computer. Of course this did work until spent about 20 minutes trying to figure it out. Turns out there's a setting that allows for this that has to be changed first. Kind of sucks that the video doesn't represent how to actually use the device. May seem minor to you, but to a new user like me, I just got totally stuck and I haven't even begun.

    I cant PC a pedal, unless its the first one in line. Ex: My setup is Morningstar-DD500-Bigsky-ML5, the ML5 wont receive PC message from the morningstar unless its in this order: Mornigstar-ML5-DD500-Bigsky. Same issue i had with the Midi clock tap. My setup was Mornigstar-Bigsky-DD500-ML5 to begin with, it didnt work so when i put it in this order, Morningstar-dd500-bigsky-ML5 it works. So its almost like the morningstar only works right with the first pedal in the midi chain

      Hi. It's really easy. Amp channel selection is saved as part of a preset on your amp. You can recall that preset via MIDI by sending a program change message. With the recent updates, you now need to go to Editor Settings to enable a setting to load preset data with switch presses. It is off by default as some features are disabled when this functions is enabled. Otherwise, you can select presets to program from the list on the right. We are probably due for a new Editor video now as we have made many upgrades since this video was released.

    • @MorningstarEngineering
      @MorningstarEngineering  2 года назад

      Hi. From 3 August 2021, we moved completely to LCD screens with white backgrounds. The Quality Control reject rate of the previous black ones was getting too high and we could not continue to use them. We changed all our product photos to reflect this change in color as well. Since then we've also had some customers ask how they can change their black screens to white (and vice versa). Both colors work great but the QC rejection rate was something we could no longer accept.

    Awesome. I have a doubt, in the Mark Johnston video, he have a Home Page for his individual pedals, so he can enter each pedal settings. Is that a special type of page? or it is just a normal Bank with different presets, and each preset sends you to a toggle page? I planning to configure a Home Page like him, with my Timeline, Bigsky, Golden Boy and Broken Arrow settings. Thanks for the help

    You say it sends 'up to 16 MIDI messages simultaneously." This is neither true nor possible, as MIDI is a serial protocol and you have to send one at a time. Since there are many instances where the order of MIDI messages is important, I believe you should stress the order they're sent in your instructions (I assume they're sent from top to bottom???).

    • @MorningstarEngineering
      @MorningstarEngineering  11 месяцев назад +1

      What we meant by simultaneously was the number of messages that can be sent with a single switch press. A single press simultaneously triggers all the messages to be sent. The time difference between each message is imperceptible. Yes, the messages are sent in sequence from top to bottom.

    • @chrisw1462
      @chrisw1462 11 месяцев назад

      @@MorningstarEngineering And what I meant is it's misleading, because very few of the people that buy your products are going to understand how it really works.
