    Ps2 games were so good. That perfect middle ground of "not too expensive to make" that allowed pure creativity and experimentation.

    • @RuSosan
      @RuSosan 2 года назад +35

      Yeah Ps2-era was golden especially since the console was also Ps1-compatible.
      The following Ps3/Xbox 360-era was like the last good mainstream game era.
      Those eras produced so many great classics and hidden gems one can still discover today it's bonkers.
      I greatly enjoyed Lords of Shadow-Castlevanias and Dante's Inferno so discovering Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness was just pure 👌😌
      Hell, those earlier eras still produced the "Good enough" 7/10 games that had more heart and ideas behind them than damn near any AAAA-cashcow "games" of today.
      Now it's easily 90%+ the Indie devs and modding communities that even bother to make actual games anymore.

    Wish these kinds of games would come back. Great music, not so much shoot'em up noise, interesting characters, etc. Did I mention the music? Love it. Symphony of the Night, too. I used to play this game along with Curse of Darkness. Can't any more due to arthritis in my fingers, but I do love watching others play.
    With that said...you missed the bonus round on the waterfall podium ride, and you didn't fill up with all you would ever need in the hallway standing by the window. Plus, it seems more than only person is playing this game? I see many rookie mistakes, but other times, it's flawless playing...hence thinking more than one person is doing this vid walkthrough.

    I remember when i lived with my aunt. my uncle had a ps2 and he let me play(once). he had no memory card so it was play until you die. i remember alot of doors with seals saying I couldn't go in due to the monsters being to high level. I remember getting an axe i can throw like a boomerang. next thing I remember is being surounded by monsters and barely fighting them off. I got the bright idea to use the axe to kill alot of enimies. I died because the axe took too long to returne to me.

    One of my favorites simply because it was darker compared to most of the series, and because it was the origin story. Dialogue/voice acting was cheesy, and combat left something to be desired, but I really enjoyed it still.

    • @mattsom3915

      Probably an upscaler. The good ones aren't cheap but gorgeous, especially if you use component cables. Not an cheap hobby to take up, only worth it if you're very dedicated to retro games.

    • @A_PROPHET
      @A_PROPHET 2 года назад

      @@mattsom3915 yeah I thought an RCA to HDMI converter was an upscaler but it's not the picture is actually worse the better TV you have
