Very surreal to see a Mazda with this mileage without rust. Mine has 176000km and is rusted through and through. Though I pretty much only drive in salted ice and snow in Canada. Touching any bolt with a ratchet or breaker bar is like Russian roulette.
what was the symptom before replacing? My 09 makes squeaking noise over bumps. Took out to inspect the rear strut but they were in good shape. There are a lot of bushing in the rear in this generation. I replaced the sway bar linkages, sway bar bushings. Noise seems a bit die out but still there!
Hey Wussup! Thanks for all these Mazda5 videos. My Mazda5 2012 has close to 180K miles. I think I need to change all these rear suspension systems. Where did you get the repair manual that tells you all the specs to torque each part?
What are the symptoms of these going bad? My sons 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactive is making a metallic rattling sound in the driver side rear when going over bumps, even at low speed. We checked all other recommended things (upper shock mounts, sway bar links, etc), and found they were OK. But his control link bushings do look worn. Would they make such a sound?
@@mac4boys541 Thanks. Checked that stuff, yet upon further research we discovered it's very likely a loose/broken baffle inside the fuel tank. Something these cars are apparently notorious for. If you're under the car and lightly bang on the bottom of the tank you'll hear it.
@@KingZoneOne Thanks for pointing this out.... I also have this very high pitch rattle that I cannot locate. The sound pitch is too high for a suspension part. I will be checking the fuel tank.
Thanks Luis A. I didn’t even realize I dropped it that Hard, had to go back and watch it again. Yea that was pretty hard thanks for looking out, and thanks for watching!.
Mazda 5 CR19 year 2007 its rear suspension is crap, I have a problem with banging and creaking, I changed the 3 suspension arms, the ball joints, the shock absorber, the shock absorber support, the pad and the shock absorber ring, only the spring that I did not change, but there is still the cloccloc and the squeaking, the manufacturer of the Mazda 5 is an ass

Hi, does lateral link got orientation? i mean"this is for right side, this is for left side" or one component fit for left and right side. thanks
Did it affect the ride of the vehicle? and Thank you for sharing this video.

Also how did the car drive after all these repairs?
That's one clean underside. You must be in a Southern or Western state.
awesome!!

Also check the exhaust mounts and the silver heat shields, they make a metallic rattle too

Great job!! One thing though. Never drop your torque wrench like that! It will get damaged

Did you try the sway bar bushings?
What were the symptoms that caused you to change the Lateral Links? Clunking going over bumps? Or did you just want to PLAY with your tools? Haha
I'd like to know that too? Good video on how to replace that part, but no info on what symptoms made it necessary and the before and after difference.
