    Have you tried the Sony ZV-E1? What do you think about it?

    I honestly love my ZV-E1. It does everything I need it to do while being compact. I’m glad to hear you mention that you have never experienced overheating. This actually turned into a big debate for me, as another RUclipsr told me I was lying about not experiencing overheating, forcing me to drop a short proving that I could record over an hour and up to 2 hours before running out of memory. Great video.

      This is my favorite camera over every camera I have used so far, and I would actually chose the zv-e1 over the A7Siii, mostly because of the compact size like you mentioned. And yeah, the overheating is not an issue so far 😅 Thank you for watching and dropping a nice comment 😊 appreciate it 🤩

      Ok, I just got that Camera, I tested the over heating, in my house that was about 70, degrees tops, it shutdown in 20 minutes in 4K 24, I had to return it, the overheating problems are horrible! Good for you that you got a nice one without that problem but this camera should have never been released with that kind of problem.

      @michaelalexander1380 that sucks, sorry to hear that. So far it has not been an issue for me, but I guess that Norway is colder than where you live 🤷

    Best purchase ever guys. I'm not even thinking about selling it. If I need a new Body, I will just buy another one and use the zve1 as 2nd cam.

    I just picked this camera up about 2 weeks and I love it. It’s crazy how much stuff Sony crammed into this camera. I’m shocked as to how small this camera is. Sold my canon camera yesterday.

    Great Video John. I've just order a Sony ZV-E1 to go with my A7IV. Was talking about it in one of my videos the other day. Great choice its an awesome camera. One thing I'd like to know... I've found with the A7IV if you use it as a webcam it overheats after around 45-60mins... Would love to know if that's different from the ZV-E1... Awesome name btw😎

    • @johntorp
      @johntorp  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi John (nice name for sure🤩 ) I cant tell if it overheats after 45-60min cause I have never tried that. But if you shoot in 24/25/30 fps, I cant imagine it overheating.. but, I can definitely give it a try and make a video on it, but I guess you will try it yourself before I am able to test it out 😊 congrats with the camera btw, you won’t regret it, it’s great! thanks for watching and happy to hear from you in the comments 😎

    I want one as a second camera to my A7R5. But I only want it for one thing, and that's the improved stabilisation. I do a lot of video pans and movement around food and drink but don't want to use a gimbal. The frustrating thing is I see a lot of people doing the walk and talk thing, but I'm not interested in that. So I've no idea if it's a useful camera for this type of work.

    • @johntorp
      @johntorp  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi, thanks for the comment! I have used the camera a lot at work handheld with food and drink. Works great with stability, because of the light weight. Only thing is that you cant have dynamic active steadyshot in 120fps. I like to use that so I can slow down with making of food. I also experience the camera getting really hot around making of food, pots and pans. But never overheating, but I guess not far from it. But overall a great camera for food and drinks 👌

      @@johntorp would it be better to go 100fps without dynamic instead of 50fps with dynamic

      Thats true 😊

    • @johntorp
      @johntorp  2 месяца назад

      @@markshirley01 I always use 100fps without dynamic, cause it is not as sensitive when you slow it down. But this is of course when I know I am using it for slow motion. When I know I won’t sliw it down, I use 25 with dynamic.

    Solid "using it for a while"-roundup of what seems to be a great option for a "slightly lower budget but not cheap option to the A7S3" ;) Still *waaaaay* out of my price range though :/ But some day ...
    One thing about the framerate thing 120 vs 100 and pal/ntsc - Since we aren't using 25 fps CRT-televisions (PAL) any more for display, and most computer monitors are 60 hertz or above and video framerate agnostic: as long as you are not filming indoors with led lightbulbs that flicker there is nothing stopping you from filming in 120 fps outdoors, or with good quality video lights indoors :)
    The only problem is certain old/cheap flourescent tubes and cheap led-bulbs that which flicker on and off so slowly it makes 120 fps indoor filming a nightmare. But outdoors, in the sun, since the sun doesn't have a refresh rate, you can easily film in 120, 240, anything really, and slow it down to 25 or 24 without any problems to get some even smoooooother slow motion if needed :)

    • @johntorp
      @johntorp  5 месяцев назад +1

      I know that I could film in ntsc, but the hassle to go back and forth… 😅 it’s not an issue for me to have 100fps either, so when in europe, or “pal” areas, Ill just keep it at pal. But technically, yes, you can film 120 here as well 😊

    • @AndreSjoberg
      @AndreSjoberg 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@johntorp Hahahaha, yeah, I totally get that ;) I kinda thoughta you would know it, just left the comment in case someone stumbled upon this and went whuuuut and didn’t understand why :) Most kids these days haven’t even heard about pal and ntsc, let alone know why it was a thing at some point. To really confuse them talking about interlaced frames and upper/lower frame first does the trick ;)
