  • ►Like most cars this age, front brake replacement on your Mk4 VW Golf GTI is one of the most common maintenance tasks you will have to complete.
The front brakes on your Mk4 Volkswagen Golf GTI or Jetta GLI are one of the most important safety items on your car. Worn or failing brakes can lead to catastrophic consequences. We recommend inspecting your brake pads and rotors at every oil change and at the beginning and the end of the season when swapping out wheels and tires.
In this video, Michael Hidalgo completes a full front brake service on Jamie Orr's Mk4 Volkswagen Golf GTI. However, this video covers the removal and installation process for both the Mk4 GTI as well as the Mk4 Jetta GLI, model years 2002 through 2005.

I replaced my front rotors and pads, and did all the steps in the video except the white stuff, and my brakes are constantly engaged, I had some wiggle room between the pads and rotor and I went to drive and my breaks stayed partially engaged, I don't think my calipers are bad cause they worked fine before, so I'm kinda at a loss of what it could be

It helps to install the rotor set screw to hold the rotor in place. That screw also helps stop the rotor from spinning on the hub when mounting the wheel.
Good work on the video FCP!

just a help up tip on all 4 breaks you do no need to remove the caliper bracket you can slide the rotors around them since there are no studs
