Your math is fine. It’s your vision showing you a different number. 😂 I’ve never been a panel person. I’m in love with the way this quilt turned out. Mission accomplished!
Thanks Carol ... Maxine is beautiful and she is very talkative ... LOL ... Oliver was probaby out roaming ... he goes in and out the house ... we live in the country and he loves to explore / chase mice! thanks for watching! April
How very clever of you. I just love this Kentucky horse quilt. I would be proud to put it on my bed. Those meightered border's came out really well. I think it's going to take me a while to do them right, myself. "The Kentucky Horse is Off and Running" That's what I would name your quilt. I try to name all my quilt's. I just bought a panel Called "Alluring Butterflies" after I sew it all together with border's, I will change the name to "Playful Butterflies". Great quilting patterns, and fabrics you sewed onto this quilt, so rich looking for sure, my dear.😂 The candy of the day should be "Toblerone" so appropriate for this High Class Racing event. Swiss milk chocolate of Switzerland, no less. Sophisticated right, with hat and all my dear. 🤭🤓🤠
Hi April, That beautiful horse is a whole lot cheaper to buy and to keep, it costs you absolutely nothing in ongoing fees, lol. Crafty hugs, Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
Oh, April! What a gorgeous quilt it turned out to be! I love it! I wish you had shown us a little bit more of your quilting! Jenny Doan recently did a tutorial with Teresa Coates (?), a Cuddle specialist, on using the “fleece” backing for the binding! It would be worth your time to watch it! You did a great job on the mitered borders! I kept expecting you to introduce your guest. It looked like she was making a floral project! My chocolate of choice is Reese’s Thins!
April the horse quilt is beautiful. The only thing you should have the horses right side up especially on the top and bottom. I understand the side being sidewise but NOT the top and bottom. But I love the panel and the boarders.
Thanks for the feedback Joan... I did it that way thinking the horses were running around the panel on the outside .. but I see it your way too ... I appreciate your input and wanted to THANK YOU so much for taking time to watch my channel. April
I like everything about your borders except the last one, only because its busy and I feel like it detracts from the panel which is Gorgeous. But there are no rules, you get to do you ❤❤
We will never learn new things without the courage to just try something we have never done. The quilt is beautiful and if you made a mistake or two along the way, who cares, you learned a life skill that is what’s important. Enjoy your week and your quilt.
Your quilt top is beautiful. I have never tried to make anything like this. However, I do have a panel with bald eagles on it. I need to get it out and come up with a way to turn it into a quilt. Thank you for this video.
This panel spoke to me across the room in a quilt store. I had to have it no matter how much it cost. In fact I wouldn't mind buying about 10 of them except that would just be greedy and unfair to others who also fall in love with this panel.
I love panels. Thank you for the video -- I have wanted to try mitred corners but have been uncertain of how to do it. When I looked online it seemed that there was so much math involved I gave up on it! Your method makes sense to me, so thank you for giving me a way of trying this.
Loved this the minute I saw it! Actually went to the link before the first video post was finished, but the panels were sold-out at both of the links provided.
You did it again...super nice quilt!! Wish you had had enough fabric to cut your horse border differently but sometimes you just have to do have you gotta do. Enjoyed a few M&Ms while watching video.
about 5 weeks ago I did my first mitered corner using "border" fabric. I too came up short but it was because I wasn't thinking when I put the bottom on...lol can you guess??? yep I was sewing it on to have my fishes going across looking at me right side in the ocean... HaHaHa. of course silly, the top colors didn't match.. duh! rip it was the next step, so I had the wrong angle to connect, well of course I had already cut it.... I didn't even notice until it was hanging on the wall to final measure. It all works out in the end, I told my LAQ to have at the whole border as she saw fit before the binding.. I've only ever done 1 other mitered corner and that was NOT a border stripe. BTW that horse is gorgeous.
I bought a remnant of a farm scene from Walmart for 3.00 dollars. I am just learning how to quilt, so I thought this would be a good easy project for a beginner. I found some co ordinating strips at the Dollar Store for 5.00 dollars. I figure by the time I add the back piece and batting, The whole project should cost me about 20 dollars.
Hi April! I love that horse panel, so gracefully drawn. I completely enjoyed watching how you bordered it with just the right colors. May I claim DIBS on that quilt!? 😊🙃 Stay safe! ~~ Lynne
