Good afternoon there April, Oh how i smiled when seeing that big spotty white fabric, because when i was 14 in 1980 i seen a bright white background multi coloured polka dot that i just loved and we made it in to a rock n' roll skirt for my high school disco. There was me, i thought that there was no one like me, that was until i sat on a rotten plastic chair that ripped an L shape into my beautiful skirt, and i was heartbroken. The skirt then underwent a few cosmetic changes with the addition of a poodle on a lead applicated on to it, so it went back to being wonderful again and no one had a skirt like me. The fact that no one wanted a skirt or anything else that i wore like me goes for absolutely nothing, lol. I just loved the swirly dresses from a time a wee while before i was born, the girls / ladies just looked so pretty in them, and Mum still had her patterns from that period. THere was definitely no one that had such beautiful dresses and i got all the various styles that just weren't around anymore. Thank you April for bringing back one happy memory with your very different fabric and your boxes quilt. Have a lovely day flower and hugs coming across that big pond from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland

They are easier than you might think. I got a free pattern from Fabric Patch and used it to make an autumn table runner in 2022. Super easy! I am going to get this pattern too.

What a great quilt. I love it!. And I have the best fat quarter bundle for this one! Been sitting there for quite awhile waiting to be chosen. Partial seams are not a big deal. Not sure why they scare people. Now curved piecing, that is something to be scared about! Partial seams are just straight seams and you do part now and part later. No big deal! And, by the way, Dove dark chocolate is the best!

LOL...when I first listened it sounded like you said cut the light fabric in 24.5 by 4.5 squares. I thought, "OK, I am POSITIVE I heard that wrong." Interesting concept. I have plenty of fat quarters to use. So I'm going to be doing this in all florals and find something light solid or very small light design for my centers. Thank you for this fun idea. And oh yes ..Dark chocolate all the way. I have a few Doves left as well..lol

This is a larger version of the Bright Hopes Block which I have been making for years. LOVE this size so will be bringing out my FQs to cut them up👍👍😎😎!! Great video🥰🥰. Love that the pattern has cutting diagrams!
Bright Hope is a block in the Fons & Porter classic and that’s where I learned to make partial seams. You’re right, a Bright Hope block bigger than 6 inches is great.

Nice quilt. Hope folks learned how to do an inset block. Was winging a quilt pattern I saw online with a block in the quilt middle. Had to think about it a bit and finally figured out about partially seeing one side first. I later learned they call it a inset block. Looking forward to your next fun quilt.
