INTJ here -- I've only ever really conversed with one ENTJ at length, and been friends with that same one, and it was great! I love the challenging aspect of ENTJs especially -- as we would be in conversation moving from one thing to another and I would be explaining something to the ENTJ for reference, and he actually would ask valid and good questions about the subject -- just the instant understanding of a topic even if I've only rushed through it once, and the instant engagement with it and exploration of it -- it's amazing! I think that as long as the INTJ and ENTJ are both willing to work on their own demon functions legitimately, this relationship is the best ever!! I hope to meet more ENTJs as I start my life, hopefully one where we mutually click :))
I'm INTJ and I've been with an ENTJ since I was 17. I think the ENFP+INTJ trope best applies to male INTJs because I could never be attracted to a guy where I am the dominant person in the relationship. A guy who is more emotional and less driven then me would simply be friendzoned. I have dissected every aspect of our relationship since we've been together so long. The biggest issue is emotional support. Emotions are unfortunately an inescapable part of the human condition and both of us kind of suck with feelings. I've basically needed to develop a synthetic soft side. When I get emotional over something insensitive he's said he tends to get hyper defensive and act like a wounded lion when I feel like crying. This is counterproductive and intensifies the problem. I have to bury my feelings to explain from a logical perspective why I feel the way I do to solved the issue. A feat easier said than done since INTJs can be impulsive while under stress. ENTJ+INTJs need to work on the emotional part of their relationship and not neglect it. Also the fleeting moments we get to see an ENTJs soft side is the cutest thing ever.
Emotions are a beautiful and powerful thing. And yes, the soft side! You don't know really know someone until they share their inner world. Thank you for your insight.

I love your perspective on this. INTJ woman here and I'm dating an ENTJ man. It's the most fun and teasing relationship I ever had. Even when there are issues, we solve them in a business type of way. Focusing on what makes sense to us in a rational way.
Spot on. As an INTJ- my ENTJ friends are the best. Sometimes when we have long conversations it’s like oh, I don’t have to explain that more, you get it. Super cool.
Very much so. The conversation feels like you're stacking blocks. The other person is always ready with the next block and you can just keep stacking and build a great sense of mutual understanding.
My grandpa is a ENTJ and Im a INTJ. We debate every dinner, we gaslight each other when we play chess and we manipulate our relatives when we play Ma jiong
The last time we teamed together to play a broad game we won in 10 minutes. It was easy. I act like i dont give a shit and play my phone during the game, he gaslights and manipulat5es every other player.
From my experience from other ENTJs I had interacted with; the dynamic is highly enjoyable to me as an INTJ. I can't recall a time where I have ever had problems conversing with this personality type. There's always that sense of: you get each other. Something I don't get from other personality types. Although I can get along with other types, I find ENTJs to be the ones I can easily connect with. INTJs, ENTPs and INTPs are also in this equation (shocker). However, not at the same level as the ENTJ.
@@ENTJ_Perspective flip floppers.. I am a entp, dated a entj once .. omg he was way to direct for me. And found him too much. I talk indirect but both you types are extremely straight forward. But both types are cool, just the straight up honesty 😳
@@pugninja7037 Although being extremely direct will always be my tendency, I've learned over the years to gauge another person's receptivity to it. Not that it doesn't slip out from time to time, lol. I have an ENTP cousin. Always clicked with him pretty well. Equal levels of rationality and thirst for analytical conversation.
@@ENTJ_Perspective tell you though, both types are cute when you flirt.. Do you think NTP's can be too indirect, I think you hear what I'm saying but you actually aren't.. Plus any tips for a entp with intj communication style ?
@@pugninja7037 Yes NTPs can be too indirect. Like all IxxPs. But I don't think that necessarily means you need to be more direct. It just depends on the situation. And whoever you're with should be attracted to you BECAUSE of your tendencies, not in spite of them. I would need to know you more to give any kind of meaningful tips. Otherwise, ENTP + INTJ should be a great match. Of course there is more to relationships than personality ; )
Generally, I have a great time with ENTJs. Basically, my criticism (all that poking at things and saying, well, what if we tried this?) is a gift. I do it to help people. If I see a pothole in the road, and I see that my friend is playing on their phone and about to fall into the pothole, I try to stop that from happening. ENTJs are one of the few types that are like "Oh, my god, I almost fell into that pothole. Thank you." Meanwhile other types will keep walking into the pothole no matter how much I scream about the pothole. And some types will avoid it, but be mad at me for saving them. I'd disagree about the values though. INTJs have Fi. We have our own values, which will guide our ultimate decisions. We're just not opposed to considering viewpoints that might conflict with our values. By looking at it that way, we might come up with a different approach we wouldn't have thought of. Challenges for the relationship: Mutual respect of introversion vs. extroversion. The extrovert can party too much and overwhelm the introvert. The introvert can party too little, and make the extrovert feel like they're being held back. As business partners or a couple, they'd need to find a balance, and how easy or hard that balance is to find is going to depend on the individuals. Potentially, the ENTJ can take the INTJ for granted. We're not rebels for the sake of being rebels, but if you focus too much on your needs, so that the relationship becomes unbalanced, we may wander off. We like being depended upon, but when we're exhausted, we're done.
Oh yea I'm married to a bossy ENTJ...as she say's there are rules....and yea this INTJ needs rules....lol. It's funny when I met her mother, her first words to me are... "she's Bossy get used to it!"
I'll definitely chime in since you've read every comment thus far. I think the biggest thing that stands out to me is how ridiculously easy communication is between the two types. Both of us prefer very concise, logical, and direct communication. When I speak to ENTJ's, I don't have to spend as much time filtering out all the bullshit and fluffy ideas that won't work. Nor do I have to spend as much time trying to get ENTJ's to see the main problems or points to an idea/argument (If they haven't already done so). It's also refreshing to hear someone speak about their ideas as articulately as an ENTJ can. Plus, the intuitive connection can make the two types very passionate when they're discussing their hobbies and ideas. The downside? I can imagine that if there were unhealthy ENTJ's and INTJ's working together, they would probably view each other as rivals and would probably be so arrogant and overly confident with their ideas and approaches, they probably wouldn't work together at all.
I have an ENTJ cousin and he’s a pimp. I always enjoy talking to him, he’s hilarious when it’s a smaller group but in a larger group he has more subtle humor that cranks up to 10 on the raunchy. He had a running joke where he’d call himself the big dick bandit, and the stories with that are endless. Fun people to talk to. But we kind of go our own ways. It’s like our paths cross vs actively seeking each other out. And when they cross the fun begins. I always come out of the conversations inspired to do something.
You spoke about this in a great way. Good points to mention. As an INTJ (tritype 514) I really look up to the Te Dominant.
