    Te-rrific content, Chris.
I watched an ENTJ grow up. They are a energetic force of nature.
When I first found typology, I immediately thought of my son's D&D games and I tried to
type 'My Boys'. It was obvious who I thought was an ENTJ.
He always wanted to DM. He made sure we noticed his shoes and he liked to
talk good food and wine, with me as he began to Adult.
My Boys were professionally Typed in college and then later when they began Careering.
We had quite a character in our ENFP. There were more than a few INTP's including my son and one or two SJ's who grew up to become firemen and military types.
and of course there was one young ESFP who tagged along because my house also was filled with my ESTP's daughter's girlfriends.

I was looking forward to this... It's always been unclear to me which am I. Judging by the video, most, but not all leans towards ENTJ. One thing that I could never really see in myself is the high energy people seem to associate with the ENTJ. Also, I mostly stay at home and don't socialise very much. A note however about the decision making process: I'd call it instinctive, I wouldn't describe it as rational, I don't think things through or weigh pros and cons carefully. It's like a reflex, I sense what the right action is. And then later I find out there was a better, more logical way of doing it, but while not perfect I trust my instinct and follow it without any hesitation. Overall this method has good results, not perfect, but definitely works for me.

Maybe then you could help me understand this contradiction:
    1. ENTJs have Se child meaning they’re quick jumping into action and taking decisions without hesitating much while the Se inferior / insecurity of INTJs holds them back a lot so they take time, over analyze and overthink before taking decision or acting.
    2. While at the same time according to Interaction types (CSJoseph and his type grid) its the ENTJs who are triple control (meaning all their ego, subconscious and unconscious are control) so they take the time to plan, strategize, think about the outcome, having full control over it before they take action. While INTJs in their
Interaction type are triple movement (ego, subconscious and unconscious are movement) so they act fast without thinking too much about the outcome or having too much control over planning.
Both understandings seem to be true yet they’re opposite to each other. Thoughts?

    • @nx_421
      @nx_421 3 года назад +4

I find those definitons of "control" and "movement" to be unsatisfying because of the lack of consistent logical principles. However I have found other insights that might lead to a better framework.
The idea of control vs movement is essentially outcome vs process orientation. Control types will often tend to lock their sight on the edge of the journey, while movement types will instead be more focused on a few next steps to take. In a way, you can say that control types are more orderly while movement types are more chaotic.
For example, one possible reason why all IxTJs are movement types is because their Te is a parent function instead of a hero. And although both hero and parent functions are usually strong, the parent is negativistic and passive, while the hero is positivistic and active. One interpretation is that, for IxTJs, they always have to "obey" instead of "create" Te. They are a follower of Te, not a leader. Thus, they tend to be more careful with their Te and therefore they tend to pay more attention to the steps rather than the outcome.
This is different for ExTJs. Their Te is very much more active and positivistic. They take pride of it and dare to be the ones who create the rules, plans, etc. It's almost as if _they are_ the rules and the plans. I don't have the precise explanation yet but I find it intuitive to imagine Te doms being more concerned with the outcome.
Another example is that an INTP will often have a goal of "true/false/undefined" conclusion in their mind (a product of active-positive Ti-Si). And that conclusion exists at the end of the process, thus the outcome-oriented question "Is it true?" always stays in their mind from the beginning to the end (this is what I mean by "lock their sight on the edge of the journey"). An INTP mathematician will say something like "If A=B and B=C, therefore A=C" → focused on the conclusion "... therefore..." (hence the informativeness of an INTP)
In another case, an ISTP is much more chaotic with his Ti since it is connected to Ni (active-positive Ti-Ni). The question "Is it true?" can't really be answered with this cognition (Ti-Ni is too vague; you'll need Si for that), and that Se parent will often gravitates him toward the here and now such that, for example, when an ISTP martial artist are developing a new technique, he will be much more concerned about each of the body movements of that technique. See how Bruce Lee explains his technique; "The ideal is natural unnaturalness or unnatural naturalness", "You are keeping the continuity growing, bending, strechting", "Be formless, shapeless, like water" → focused on the process "do x, then y, then z" (hence the directness of an ISTP)
P.s all odd functions are both positivistic and active, and all even functions are both negativistic and passive, but typically only the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th functions are "strong". However keep in mind that there seems to be no evidence that shows that any of these attributes are static to a person's personality.

CSJ got the descriptions of movement and outcome very VERY wrong.
I read his source material Dr.Linda Berrens and that's not how she describes movement/progress vs outcome at all.
Being fast paced in acting is actually initiating where being slow and "controlled" is due to being responding.

When I was younger and a bit more prone to anger because even logos
must deal with hormones at one point or another, I found that I was able
to deflect or tamper down these Fi-ts by making myself laugh.
If I threw magazines against a wall instead of throwing a tantrum, those
si-lly magazines fluttering helplessly to the ground as I threw them at the
hapless wall, then this ridiculousness made me giggle. Why, magazines?
Because a Utiliarian Rational doesn't want to buy new dishes.
Later, I discovered the true joy of pranking. revenge may better be defined
as a bunch of bananas hidden in the back Se-at of a car on a hot summer
day because I needed to make a point.
You could also google the Vargus nerve. Simulating the Vargus nerve is
suppose to reduce stress and improve your mood. I have not tried this
because now I am oldish and less likely to need a good prank.
There are some good online doctors
who talk about anxiety and offer advice on tapping into the Vargus Nerve to
reduce these feelings. I like motivational doc and dr eric berg.

Many type theorists refer to jungian types within Quadras as well. Socionics quadras are defined as types that have the same functions in the value slots, which is socionics 1256, which directly correlates to mbti 1-4. In socionics LIE(ENTj) SEE(ESFp) ESI (ISFj - which is mbti isfp) and ILI (INTp - mbti INTJ) are all gamma quadra and share Fi, Se, Te, and Ni as value functions.
While one "could" make up a different grouping term/definition for mbti functions quadras such as SFPs/NTJs, it would be a waste of time/energy in my opinion as we recognize these value functions as being important within the types in both socionics and mbti.

Jung introversion and extroversion is not as simple being an extroverted in the general way people often mean it in current society. A function that does somewhat resemble the typical extravert behaviour (in the way that the word is used these days) is Fe. It is attuned to the social world, focussed outwardly. ENTJ's and INTJ's on the other hand have Te, which is aimed outside of the self, but is not really attuned to the social part of the extroverted world. it more so deals with inpersonal objectives and while it can deal with people, it's more sin a similar matter as companies deal with people. It's not really personal. Then it is the question, is this the behaviour of an introvert of an extrovert? Is the type of person who is a workoholic that works together with people on his job there but has no interest in social activities outside of his work a "social person" and thus an extrovert? Is this an introvert or an extrovert in the current description used in society now? It just depends on the defintion used, I would say.

tests are never entirely accurate! you have to study functions. online tests are responsible for many mistypes

I'm going to stop you at 6 minutes and 41 seconds I know where this might be going I am currently going through the issue at work I think my boss isn't ENFJ and I am an intj and we do not see the same side at all he's trying to get me fired I'm collecting ammo I recently got promoted and given a key to the place so he should be on alert but he's not that smart I don't think I bet I want ENFJ traits so I know how to battle this in the future

Can entjs get mistyped as ISTPs

    • @AsuraPsych
      @AsuraPsych  3 года назад +2

Maybe, doesn't seem like on of the more likely mistypes though. Most ENTJs mistype as INTJ I find or occasionally ENTP.

    • @kalestea

Hello, fellow ISFP. I too, agree this is going on in the subconscious of our minds. ISFPs truly are a superior type.

This is the full confirmation that I'm an INTJ. The moment I read about the wolf types, I knew I aligned with the Sigma type - and here, you talked about the INTJ being the Sigma.

Sigma is mostly just coping for loners.
I'd assume 95% of "sigmas" are gammas in denial.

I agree. It started as an alternative social hierarchy theory but we've seen the term transform into a meme for less than socially capable introverts over the past year or so.

INxJs tend to be sigma leaders , when they are healthy. An INFJ leader.
