What I really like about Wolfgang is he isn't trying to be his father, he has worked hard to find his own style, and his own type of music, much respect Wolfgang, keep on rockin!!!
He is entirely riding his last name and even cribbing off the original van halen name. What he is is rich. If it weren't for his dad you would never ever know who he is .
I saw them early 90s in Sydney where Suicidal Tendencies opened for them. Lane jumped into the crowd and smacked out a dude after the dude spat on him, then got passed back on stage above everyone's heads. Good times😊.
Thank you for the compliment sir! I try my best! Just added a me add on mic that sounds great. Check out the Tom Keifer and Nickelback videos and see what you think!
I saw the Van Halen '.....Carnal Knowledge' Tour back in the early '90's which featured A.I.C as the opener. Ed spent more time in Alice In Chains camp behind the stage than with his band. Ed and Jerry Cantrell were very good friends. In fact, after that tour was over, Ed donated all of his gear that he used on that tour to Cantrell. One of which was a gold top Ernie Ball EVH model that eventually was stolen in the studio until it was recovered almost 30 years later by some researchers who tracked down that guitar in Florida and got it back for Jerry. Alice In Chains were at the peak of their game on that tour. That was one of the best lineups I'd seen ever.
I saw Alice In Chains open for Van Halen years ago in Portland, and at the end, Jerry Cantrell and Eddie were in jamming on some song. Very full circle to see Wolfie covering this👌
Jerry has OG 5150s given to him by EVH and tbh probably helped popularize them in non 80s shred circles. Probably the first guy not named Edward who I was aware of using them on the "major label" tier.
His Dad beat me and my band's asses in the few BOB we played. One of the reasons I left LA to begin with. I took a chance, went North to the Washington State Line. And began learning to sing properly and following hot band's of the time. ZZTOP was my aim.... After years of trying to write and not finding any luck with all of the Clapton, Neil Young and folkies, I began teaching myself more involved music. It wasn't long ago I was playing "Lazy and Highway Star" with some friends... And I owe Eddie and VH a big thanks of gratitude. It taught me to make my own music. I have some tracks out..
Wow. I came here to say how awesome Wolfgang looks, sounds and how much fun it looks like he's having. Then the comments section reminded me other humans exist and they are awful. Fuck I hate this place.
Thats one of my top 5 songs in rock history... verrrrrry well done and live performed... Very smooth and held within its lane.. Its easy to let a song like that get out from under you because it wants to show its teeth.. Controlling it makes a song like this so special.. Its not that easy..
Interesting. I saw AIC open for VH on the F.U.C.K. tour in Atlanta. Wolfie would have been a little kid, or maybe not born yet (over 30 years ago, Idk his age). He sounds awesome playing that tune!
I once said he wasn’t as good of a singer as Anthony. After listening to his music, I stand corrected, I take it back. I knew he could play, but I am still really blown away by his talent. Really great stuff! Thanks for the post.
You have to consider that Wolfie was only 15 when he stepped into Michael Anthony's shoes - his voice hadn't matured yet, and those harmonies are *hard!* 🤣🤣 Even though I would've loved to have seen the original VH band on that reunion tour, I'll admit Wolfgang did really well...
@@claudevieaul1465 I learned that recently. With no intent to stir the pot. It is a lot easier to sing with a lead singer that is killing it like Roth did in the 80s when I saw the band. Towards the end, for good and bad, Roth got pretty loose with his singing, which clearly would make it hard to back him up. May be a factor, I don't know. I am really excited to see what the band will do, I think the new record comes out it August.
I want thumbs up your comment but he's earning his own keep. Not trying to fake his way much like all his generational counterparts. He is a true gentleman no nepotism and yes he is as handout because he can make his own way unlike the other millions of childish pieces of crap
Wolf absolutely freaking killed it best cover of this song I've heard in years he is a amazing musician just like his dad and he isn't riding g his dad's coat tails Eddie would be so proud of wolf man keep on rocking wolf van Halen !!!

What I really like about Wolfgang is he isn't trying to be his father, he has worked hard to find his own style, and his own type of music, much respect Wolfgang, keep on rockin!!!
Those are big boots to follow.
His father RAISED him in his own style....
Yes, I agree. And hes quite the musician on top of that.
He’s literally playing cover. That’s the opposite of creating your own style.
I still wish eddie was my dad
Ed was right,he warned us about Wolf. He is a major talent.💯
The son of the father has arrived
I’ve been waiting for this since I read in Guitar World over 30 years ago that Eddie had a kid
@@The_Jasonian69 me too💯. Lifelong Van Halen fan here, when I first heard Wolf's debut album I was floored. He can do it all.
He’s dangerous, hell yeah
Bullshit ..10 year olds can play these songs. He is as average as you can get
He's awesome ! And he's not riding on his dad's name at all. Eddie is definitely proud.
Bull if he wasn't a son of Eddie van Halen he wouldn't get a gig fact.

RIP Layne and Mike Starr
Surreal. I saw Alice in Chains open for VH back in 91.
Same
I saw them early 90s in Sydney where Suicidal Tendencies opened for them.
Lane jumped into the crowd and smacked out a dude after the dude spat on him, then got passed back on stage above everyone's heads.
Good times😊.
It's truly rare when a child of an established rocker can really play their instrument.
and sing
I think Jason Bonham is pretty damn good.
This sounds amazing, Eddie and Layne is smiling down from rock n roll heaven.
💯
Wolfie is the real deal.
Talent and humility. 👏👏👏
Rest in peace, Layne.
And Mike
If Eddie were still alive they would have to surgically remove the giant smile on his face.
This might be the best AiC cover I've heard. This fucking rules.
omg omg Wolfgang CRUSHES Jerry's riffs!!!!
Damn, that's the best cover of Alice N Chains I've ever heard! And they're fucking drummer is amazing too!
As a huge fan of Alice in Chains, well done! That was amazing!
Props to the guy recording this. Great camera work. But of course more props to this flawless cover. Long live Van Halen
Thank you for the compliment sir! I try my best! Just added a me add on mic that sounds great. Check out the Tom Keifer and Nickelback videos and see what you think!
Jesus, Wolf. Your Pop is beaming right now...how could he NOT!?!? Great stuff!
Ed and Jerry Cantrel were friends. Impeccably played.
The bassist is absolutely getting it
IN THE FEELS
You really see a lot of both his mom and dad in him. When he's concentrating he looks just like Eddie. What a talent.
Jerry would be proud of this rendition.

Intense song. I miss Layne Staley very much.
Man Wolfgang’s voice is crazy good!
What a true gentleman. Eddie and Valerie should be the proudest parents❤
Guy is so underrated, he got thrown into VH to play bass when he was like 16 and crushed it.
That's not what underrated means

Laaaaawd! Thought it was Jerry playing the solo himself until the tapping started 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Wolf! Respect!
hes awesome, dad would be proud
Can’t believe 1/2 of AIC is gone or that EVH is gone.
The vocal harmonies are great...hell of a cover.
Can never get enough of Wolfie. Those classic EVH pull-taps in the solo...🤘
The man is going to be one of the greatest. Wolfgang is absolutely amazing
Wow, I love it. Saw WVH when he was a kid playing bass with VH, can't believe how great of a musician he is.

I love seeing Wolf show his chops.

The bass player was having a ball 🌴👍👍😎🌴
i like that little touch at the end of the solo
Wolfie rocks. I love that he is is own artist. He doesn’t ride on his dad’s coattails. A true talent and humble human.
This is a cover lol.

'I love that he's his own artist ' doesn't make sense on a cover video lol.
One of my fav Alice songs
Wow, their vocals sound amazing!!
Oh my word, just discovered this and I love WVH even more
shit! the harmonies rock! nice to see Wolfie backing up like he did with Dave!
This is FANTASTIC. Look how much they all love playing this tune.

I’m a big fan of Wolfy but this right here makes me want to be his best friend. I love AiC! Named my daughter Alice!
This cover’s good enough to be laid down, I want a studio version!
We now know why DLR is always trashing Wolfgang. Everything he does is way better than anything DLR can do or has done.
Wolfie might be the most talented Van Halen and that's saying something. Actually Eddie used to say it all the time...
Dammit that’s a great cover! Wolfie nailed it!
dude love that iconic van halen guitar lick at the end of the solo
Wolf can really burn when he wants to. He's got the chops.
They should've followed that up immediately with "Dam That River"!
Amazing vocals were amazing whole band was in the pocket !!!! Wolf amazing !!!! 🤘
Just awesome, well done! Best AiC cover I've heard

Saw them with Alter Bridge and Wolfgang is so freaking talented it’s unreal!

Yeah he was born by then, wasn't but a few months old I believe
Jerry Cantrell would be quite impressed.
I like it how you guys made it faithful to the original...and then landed a fantastic major harmony at the very end
Cool on every level he is super talented
