Super cool guy, very real and incredibly humble for such a talented and famous musician. His dad inspired me to play guitar 40+ years ago, now Wolf is inspiring a new generation. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Wolf seems like a very cool human being... I'm so happy for his success. He's worked his ass off to become the incredibly strong musician he is. Loved the first Mammoth album, and thankfully I got to see them live in LA.
If you look at him closely, you can definitely see both his mom and dad in his face, i mean as it should be!! I wish him all good things. He is adorable and talented.
I have kinda on purpose have stayed away from Wolfie and his music. A lot of it is because who his dad is. I wanted to be able to approach his music without the ever present spector of his father to minimize comparison. This interview has got me ready to take a listen. Wolfgang seems very down to earth in spite of who his parents are. It's hard to say he is making it in music regardless of surname but he seems to be minimizing the effect of the name Van Halen. Also mad respect for how he has handled the whole tribute questions. I think the either everyone is in or nobody is in was the right choice. It would be about paying tribute to Eddie Van Halen not a specific era, vocalist, or ego.
Can't call him “Wolfie”…. I think that's reserved for his mom - and fiancé. However, yes, of course the (still young) man has been blessed by being the son of possibly the greatest Rock guitarist in history. Sure, he was enormously blessed to become the Bass player in what I personally believe is the most important Heavy or Hard Rock band in history after only Led Zeppelin. And sure, he was immensely blessed to have grown up with his father, who happened to be EVH, loving and adoring him and wanting him around all the time, which led to his exposure to EVH playing, practicing, writing, and tinkering on electric Guitars, as well as even building and designing Guitars himself and with Peavey, Charvel, and ultimately Fender. But Wolf also has a wonderfully adoring mom who seems pretty great, and most of all (for these purposes) he has himself taken to Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Vocals like a freakin’ generational superstar. I'm 55. When I was a senior in Zhigh school (I think) was when the BIG news announcement was made in magazines and all over radio that mega-superstar EVH and wife Valerie were having a child. And, shit, a BOY!!! A future superstar musician for sure!! DJs joked that he'd been born with the deformity of SEVEN fingers on each hand. Humor because of his father's unbelievable speed-shredding and revolutionary playing styles that WERE super-fast and that also sounded hyper-super-fast. Anyway, there is ZEEEERO reason to speak ANY unkind words about/towards Wolf. Unless you're just seethingly jealous. So, me, Hell yes, Id LOVE to have been born into the circumstances he was. I wasn't, though. That's not Wolf’s fault. And I’ll wrap by saying this: the guy CAN ABSOLUTELY play like a monster. Guitar. Bass. Drums. And in my opinion, he’s a decent singer. There have been very few who have successfully performed EVERY note on their albums with EVERY instrument, voice included. He also seems to be a likable guy. So, Wolf, if you ever read this, just know that it is the severely envious who find nothing but insults and become “haters”. YOU just keep on Rockin’ man! We’re listening!
That really would be awesome to see what those two would come up with. Just those two in a studio making the entire album. 14:45 .... I hope this happens! Dave .... Do it!
Super nice guy and mega talented. Feel so grateful that I saw you in Seattle Dec 2007 the Van Halen tour. Man, it was so good! I didn't know what to expect with David Lee Roth and it honestly blew me away.
Parked Out by the Lake is by Dean Summerwind is actualy done by a friend of mine Dustin Christensen. The funny part is it's a parody of one of his own songs Vacant Motel Heart off one of his solo albums. Vacant Motel Heart is also a great song. Dustin is a great guy and is currently a songwriter in Nashville. He also got a four chair turn on The Voice.
In 1975 I was friends with Mark Stone he introduced me to Ed and we spent the rest of the night shooting beers. Ed was really funny the next night I got to see him play although he wasn’t the tapping at the time he blew my socks off with his ability to play Clapton Hendrix, all of the guitar gods effortlessly. I’m glad I had that moment in time with him had no idea he would turn out to be the Mosark of our time.
I just caught this band at Rockville this past weekend. I have to say they were one of my FAVORITE performances throughout the entire weekend. wolfs new music is killer love the style of the vocals its kinda likw 2000s rock/metal n its sick.. n even cooler he writes n plays every instrument in that band in the studio very talented
Wolf is such a cool dude. Awesome to hear "Gavin Harrison" name in his drummer supergroup pick. I would agree that it's a toss up betwen Gavin and Danny, but glad to see him give Gavin some love.
My 4: Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart, and Tom Sawyer!
Love this young man....I smile the whole time i watch videos of him.
I know his daddy is SO PROUD❤
i've never heard of any of his guys..i must be getting old.
Wolf is such a nice and genuine guy. Great interview.
OK, 1st visit to your channel. Seeing Physical Graffiti hanging behind you earns huge props! Interviewing Wolf gets you even more. I will have to stay tuned...
It was exciting to hear him talk about his influences musically knowing who his father was. I hope he's having the time of his life.
Wow did mom and dad do a great job or what… so grateful and humble, great player and person… what a sweetheart of a person
Honestly same here Wolfie if I formed a supergroup Gavin Harrison would be my drummer as well. The guy is a machine and I love Porcupine Tree! \m/
I’m so happy for Wolfgang and want to be one of the empathetic people on the Internet that say you are appreciated!
Super cool guy, very real and incredibly humble for such a talented and famous musician. His dad inspired me to play guitar 40+ years ago, now Wolf is inspiring a new generation. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Mammoth is awesome and Wolf is such a awesome person!!!
So good. 🤘
My favorite thing about Wolf is how grounded he is...which in turn adds to his already legendary status. Best of luck and well being, Wolf!!
I’m loving what I’m hearing out of Wolf and MammothWVH. Wolf is one helluva great musician and I can’t wait to hear more new music from him.
Wolf, you're a good egg. Hope you can come down to Australia one day. Congrats on the nuptials too.
Wolf seems like a very cool human being... I'm so happy for his success. He's worked his ass off to become the incredibly strong musician he is. Loved the first Mammoth album, and thankfully I got to see them live in LA.
coming to see you on november 10th buddy and i cant freakin wait🤘🤘
Always like watching Wolfy's interviews when he talks about the music his eyes lights up like his father's did in his interviews
If you look at him closely, you can definitely see both his mom and dad in his face, i mean as it should be!!
I wish him all good things. He is adorable and talented.
Very good interview! Wolfie is on a roll, I know Eddie would be proud and Valerie certainly is!🙏🏻🎧❤️
Lifelong fan of VH. And now a fan of WVH. The music keeps me young.
"Spectre"..."Minimise"..."Minimising"
My sympathies to You Wolfgang on your Dad's Passing... God Bless Ya Man 🙏💯❤️🤘
Parked Out by the Lake is by Dean Summerwind is actualy done by a friend of mine Dustin Christensen.
Here is the perfect super group: Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart. PERIOD.
I just caught this band at Rockville this past weekend. I have to say they were one of my FAVORITE performances throughout the entire weekend. Ngl, I was an asshole that had never listened to mammoth and I was worried that he was just riding on daddy’s coat tales. I happily ate my words. Mammoth and WVH have a new fan. Awesome guys
Very happy and proud of your accomplishments, keep rocking bro!!
Wolf all fully growing congratulations on the mate you look great! Always look forward to what you are doing next. Absolutely right attitude and altitude to make a difference for upcomers. Stay "you" young lad!
Just saw Mammoth in Spokane, they really ROCKED and Wolf has a great stage presence !!
The first time I saw Wolfgang my first tought was "Oh, another son/daughter of famous musician trying to get it thru". But I was totally WRONG. The guy is superb, had chops, real sensitivity in his playing, is sincere and I think honest in his attitude. I wish him all the best!
Sweet picks for the supergroup... Gavin is my fave too!
Great interview! So nice to get to know Wolfie and his tastes. rb
Wolf is such a positive humble guy who is also an absolute monster musician. And like many of the other commenters have said, you can tell that Eddie and Valerie did a wonderful job of raising a wonderfully kind, intelligent and talented young man.
Wolf it's good to see you in good spirits.
He has been hitting the buffet
What a genuinely good dude. 👍🏻
So much respect for Wolfgang. He is doing this on his own terms and has a great band and a heck of a player...much props !!!! Very humble and raised right props to mom & dad as well.
Underrated.... He's absolutely amazing
Last album completely tanked
He is thrilled to jam with Dave Grohl. But he comes from playing with his dad. We older guys don‘t get that at all. 😂
Lauryn Schaffner, Great interview. Thank you
Wolfgang Foghat Led Zeppelin....majestic af
You know Wolfy is a real TOOL fan when you drop Karnivool references lol. Love it.
Wolfgang has the privilege of having that iconic connection to his father but he's also worthy of that leverage and super talented.
We have your back Wolf! Your new album is great. EVH 4 life!🤘🎸🤘
It used to be called rock fusion. Variety is the spice of life. Definitely.
He doesn't look like his mom or dad. Seems like a great guy.
most talented Van Halen?
this man even sings incredibly. I cant get over how talented Wolf is. Treasure.
Seeing him for the 3rd time tomorrow night in Austin TX. 🤘🏻🇺🇸🎸🔥
WVH and Dave Grohl would be amazing together a one off album would be something
Wolf no where near the talent of Grohl. Would be playing at bars if he had a different last name
Just seen him at the Metallica concert at Ford Field in Detroit downtown Michigan. He definitely put on a good show with his Band and he was on point on the guitar
This interviewer is very good. Love Wolf
I'd be interested to see what the remnants of The Who and The Beatles could put together. Paul, Ringo, Pete, and Roger.
Random…..
I don't doubt that Pete could still write as well as he ever could
I regret that I was so quick to dismiss this guy when he replaced Michael Anthony in VH. While I still feel that Michael should have been in the line up, I did not realize at the time what a legit musical monster this guy is. What an amazing talent and genuine love for the craft and the process.
Keep going Wolfman 💪 you are doing great ❤
A big loss with Eddy being gone, but having Wolf around fills the loss.
He seems so humble, that's what I like about Wolfgang.
Great interview!
Wolfgang is a complete 180 from his dad and uncle. Who hardly had anything good to say about people.
I seen Wolfgang wvh at ford field in Detroit on th m72 tour and they killed it! So good!
I love this guy. We need more Wolfies in the world.
It's not cool that people can be jerks with real consequences. I'm really glad he seems like the guy you hang out and jam with.
DUDE, you are Definitely Valleri and Eddie's son! (RIP Brother Eddie) Great luck to ya!
