Ok man. Alice in Chains (Staley era) is my favorite band ever. Has been since Dirt came out. This version is amazing. Thank you for keeping the solo like the original, but deathcore. I appreciate this.

Bro - this is coming from someone who holds the album “Dirt” super close to me. It’s absolutely one of my top albums of all time and normally I would think someone altering an already masterpiece would be sacrilege. You KILLED it dude. Absolutely killed it.

I had issues with them live to be honest. They would have been much better with an extra guitarist and somebody who could sing to do the harmonies. A huge part of the band was the harmonies but j cantrall was shit singing live. Playing live with a band like soundgsrden on the same bill the inadequacies were just too obvious in comparison

I've always said it, Alice in Chains was much more a metal band than a grunge band, especially in the early years.
They were originally a glam band with Layne on guitar.

I mean to be fair solos have made a comeback lol. I remember back in 2010 when if a band had a considerable solo, everyone would just stare confused or pace around the pit, not knowing what to do.

Huge AIC fan since the early 90s, so I was understandably skeptical, but you did a great job with this. It definitely feels modern but you kept the spirit of the original.

Pretty damn cool. After I got my 1st 8 string. I di a lot of AIC, Tool, and others like this. was fun to alt tune for effect on many of them. But like you mentioned in the begining, Jerry wrote a damn heavy riff even back when. Although I do have to add. That riff is accented by that sweet blend of Jerry, and Layne vocals And Mike's bass riff that mostly groves with the drums. JMHO.
haha I synched this up to an isolated vocal track of Layne - sounded decent for the most part. The drums were over the top in some places, but as an instrumental it rocked.
You should get other musicians you've collabed in the past to do this cover! It'd be awesome to hear vocals along with this!!

Out of all the grunge bands from the 90s, Alice In Chains imo was the most metal of them all (though Soundgarden is my personal favorite)

Not quantized enough. The guitar still sounds like it was played by a human. Also, the bass should sound more like barbed wire and the guitar needs to have more of that djenty digital crunch. Basically what I'm saying is this sounds too good.
That solo was sick AF. Around the time ''Dirt'' came out, I used to get off work at around 2am and I'd just sit in my car after getting home and listen to that record. This song and ''Rooster'' are my favorites.

Baby, I knew Layne. We were great friends. He would have LOVED the shit out of this. Layne was one of the most supportive people when it came to music. Whatever the sound was, whoever was making it, whether it was tribute or not. I miss him all the time and despite his family's trouble with the situation after his death, I still hang out with the band whenever they're in town. I'll try to remember to pass this on the next time they're by the door. ;)
