    Nights Snuggling With Eden & Faith The Cheetah: • Man Becomes Cheetah Sa...
    This is a bit long because it's mainly for me to remind me how WONDERFUL Eden is. Wanted to show you how loving, interactive, and affectionate some Cheetahs are. Skip to 03:00 minutes to see Eden the Cheetah snuggle.
    This is Eden, the most adorable, nicest, most friendly Cheetah I know. She's just about PURRfect. She's beautiful, SUPER nice, in fantastic condition, has a face like a living Disney character, an animal athlete, supper fast, a huntress, and has the most hypnotizing purr I've ever heard from a cat. I met Eden summer of 2014 volunteering at Cheetah Experience in South Africa but never spent much time with her. During the summer 2015 I did and discovered just how nice she really is.
    True to Eden's nature, she warmed up to me in days and ended up really liking me, so much so that I was able to trust her completely. The more she felt comfortable with me, the more she treated me just like another Cheetah which included the grooming, nibbling, biting, pacifying, purring, laying on me, and sleeping... cuddling up close to me. I'm amazed how much more interactive and affectionate Cheetahs are compared to the avg domesticated cat.
    This is the 2nd Cheetah I easily bonded with at CE and makes me wonder how special this species really is. I'm betting many Cheetahs in this world have loving personalities like this. I couldn't possibly bond so soon with a lion, leopard, tiger, or puma. I had no idea Cheetahs were so special. I've fallen in love with them. It's an incredible species that truly deserves help, support, and protection.
    I was honored that Eden liked me so much. But I think she is this way with everyone who lets her. There is no one she won't like. The more you encounter her, the more relaxed she gets and the more she trusts you. She eventually learned my tolerance levels to her licking, grooming, biting and nibbling and adjusted her licks and bite pressure so I would allow her to do it. That's pretty observant on her part. My dog learned not to bite hard in the exact same way.
    Cheetahs LOVE to groom and nibble and it helps in bonding with them if you let them. It still hurt and I got slightly bloodied on my face, lips, chin and ears, but it's what I allowed to happen in order to bond with her.
    Unfortunately... today Eden is not part of the breeding program at CE due to her best friend, who is a handicapped Cheetah named Faith. Eden is basically a service therapy Cheetah to Faith who developed spinal meningitis as a cub that affected her development. Eden is like PTSD therapy for a crippled Cheetah. Eden is great therapy for ANYONE, regardless if you have a problem or not. You can't help but fall in love with her, and she you.
    These two cheetahs show STARK differences in capabilities.... Yin and Yang... One an Olympic athlete and the other terribly handicapped. They both make do, but I would really like to see Eden have cubs.
    Eden won't be allowed to breed while staying with Faith and I think it's a shame. Eden would be such a nurturing mother. She's patient, gentle and would make a superb mother. But it's her other traits that attract me; genetically healthy, no obvious deformities & her loving nature combined with her displayed hunting instincts makes her a candidate to me. She's in fantastic condition & her pleasant attitude is something admired.
    She gets along with all the other animals there; young cubs, dogs, older Cheetahs, and people. Her only flaw is stalking young children when they have tours there (behind the fence of course). It's how she spends her days, besides resting & digesting.
    To me, it's a superb example of the predator in her... picking out the most vulnerable of our species (man) in a crowd and hunting them. I don't know what she would do if she caught one, but it's guaranteed not to be acceptable :) She went berserk one day when 50 kids under 8 yrs old stopped on tour. She couldn't decide which one to hunt. They had to put a staff member inside her enclosure to try and keep her calm. I'm just happy she likes adult volunteers.
    Keep watching for my Cheetah videos. I have my10 nights of video I filmed with Eden and Faith; sleeping inside their enclosure at night. I took some blankets, a pillow, and a couple of video cameras inside their concrete box inside their enclosure to sleep with them.
    Ultimate trust is nurtured when you can sleep with an animal.

      Bear in mind nothing was actually done to the original wild animal to produce the "domestic" cat, there's no difference between the wild cats living in the sand in Egypt and the domestic cat, unless you count the very recent weird breeds like persians. As opposed to the significant alterations from wolves to produce dogs. So it's pretty easy for a cheetah to have a much better personality than some housecat since they are individuals after all.

    • @Osterbaum
      @Osterbaum 3 года назад +39

      @@medexamtoolsdotcom Also, I'd imagine that as a (relatively) big cat the cheetah might not feel the kind of prey-anxiety that a house cat can feel around bigger animals. So she might more readily approach a human because she doesn't view a human as a potential threat in the same way a house cat might.

      @jazrue 5 лет назад +58

      Phil McCrevice and to your second point, that’s why cheetahs just walk up and greet us every time we get around them, right? Because they know they could kill us? If you haven’t noticed, most animals are naturally “afraid” of humans and if any idea even remotely similar to what you’re suggesting crossed it’s mind, it would be attacking him because it would feel threatened due to natural instinct, not thinking “yeah I dare him to fuck with me”....that’s ridiculous. Maybe their companionship has something having to do with him being his source of food and shelter. Or that studies have shown that animals release oxytocin in response to their owners. Truth is, we don’t know 100% why this animal cuddled up with him, so I don’t think it’s your right to comment on my opinion, and I don’t see anything wrong with leaving an unknown factor up to imagination. Sorry for the rant, but your misogynistic and vacuous comment really caught my attention. It’s exciting though! I don’t normally have drama of any kind, so I thank you for the entertainment. Have a great night.

      @@malccy72 You know what my secret is? It's listening and learning. It's not about radiant energy coming from all of us that Cesar Millan harps about every episode. Yes, there is actual electrical energy emanating from us from our biological neurons firing off from muscle movement and so on. Sharks can sense this and one way they hunt prey. We see it in brain scans, but listening to an animal is the best way to reach its mind. Watch and learn.
      I discover what makes and animal tick and focus on that; their loves, likes and dislikes. Everything is an individual and so that changes per individual, but species all do a certain thing, but all differently. Cats all have their instincts and common behaviors and I discover what they like and dislike and use that to connect with them. I become one of them by emulating them as much as possible and allowing them themselves and do the things they like, share in it and avoid the things they don't, but have to learn what that is too. I've connected strongly with so many animals this way.
      I'll walk around hunting moles with my landlord's dog that loves hunting, bark at someone walking by (so they don't hear me of course) :) run through the house when my St. Bernard sees something to bark at in the window, I'll run with a cheetah that likes running, drag a toy on a rope along the ground, allow cheetahs to groom me until it bleeds because they love grooming me, I'll allow them to nibble, grab, play fight, suckle, lay on me, rub their cheeks on my cheek, lay down on my back to lower my defenses for them and they lay down on me, hand feed, let them pounce,.. and so on. There are so many things you can do to connect with these animals and win them over.

Their tongue spines cut into you the first lick and they love pushing hard down on it to feel and taste your hair. It's torture. I bled from Eden's grooming sometimes. But I let her do it to a point because they love it so much. Helps bond with them if you let them groom you.

    Since felines are able to lower the papillae on their tongues, and she didn't, my guess is that she's paying you the ultimate compliment: you're an honorary feline! Since you're a feline (of a sort) you're supposed to have fur to protect your skin, so she treats you to the rough tongue. Lucky you.

    • @cykrya5156
      @cykrya5156 6 лет назад +16

      Carol Cripps or maybe its because he never strongly suggest that it hurts therefore the cheetah think its ok to use the rough tongue

      Cuddles and purrs just like one. Rubs, nibbles, suckles, rubs cheeks, lays on you for warmth, snuggles, warm, allows hugging, petting, and scratching... who knew all this from a wild animal.

    • @CheetahWhisperer
      @CheetahWhisperer  3 года назад +165

      @classic- potatoes Because she is insecure and always wanting to suckle, mouth you groom you like a baby. It is because she thought her caretakers and volunteers are parental figures and it soothed her. She did the same to her cheetah friend Faith.

    • @CheetahWhisperer
      @CheetahWhisperer  3 года назад +110

      @@CheetahWhisperer love the special bound between you and Eden. Cheetah's are one of my favorites felines. From their technical skills to get a prey to how female take care of their cubs, learn them how to hunt.Thanks for sharing this precious moment with us.

    • @CheetahWhisperer
      @CheetahWhisperer  3 года назад +64

      @Tyler Fox I've been bloodied before by interacting with cheetahs, sometimes they slap me, or pinched my thumb too hard but mostly from their grooming which cuts my skin and they don't do anything differently, same friendly cheetah. I did a video about it and Gabriel laps up the blood, keeps purring and grooms me still. ruclips.net/video/vlE8jED-x3k/видео.html
      It is because cheetahs don't see people or their friends and family as prey. When they see you as family, they will protect you not kill and eat you. Besides, cheetahs that eat together will groom the blood and guts from each others face and body after a kill and meal. They know what is prey and not. No predator is at mindless killer.

    Many people see Cheetahs hunting, running, killing, resting, or raising their young in documentaries, TV, or zoos. I wanted to show people the up-close and personal side of Cheetahs. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful their personalities can be. Cheetahs are not considered a 'social' cat but they love, display affection, love attention (the tamed ones) and very interactive. Watch how nice some Cheetahs are.

    • @CheetahWhisperer
      @CheetahWhisperer  8 лет назад +62

      rubbiebubbie You are correct. The video is getting a lot of attention and I don't want people to think this is the norm. Cheetahs are FAR less aggressive than other big cats but their temperament is not like your domesticated ones. Tamed ones have similar temperaments to domesticated cats but not exactly. For the wild ones, not even close.
