Thanks again for the help!! Project built - not finished - but too excited and hung it on the wall. Wish I could post a pic to show you. It has a few flaws of course - but adapted and hid them - and moved on. Thanks again.
Built this over the weekend. Easy build and looks pretty good. I did however change one thing and used a french cleat to hang it. Total cost was $100 for the sheet of plywood and a bunch of screws Thanks Your work bench is next
Definitely going to make one of these. LOL, gotta get a router and table. Those are awesome. Thought it could be a nice touch for the top to be sloped so the chargers are easier to see.
Just finished building this from your plan. One note. The plan has Part 'D' as 9 3/4 by 47 but should be 9 1/4 x 47 to work. Discovered during assembly. Thanks for a great project.
Just seeing this for the first time (a little late, I know). I desperately need to get one of these up in my garage. I moved a few months ago, and all my tools and whatnot are just an absolute mess. I end up buying more things that I already own because I just can't find anything. This is one my favorite versions of this concept. Thanks, John.
John that turned out really nice! I like how you added the trim to the front as well, really cleans it up. I made one about 1/4 the size, its currently housing my only drill haha
Awesome work John! I wish I had that many drills to justify building this monster! I'll settle with dividing it in half. Keep it up man I enjoy your content!
That’s some serious VINTAGE John Maleki! I’m building my own drill charging station right now and will be posting a video about it. Everyone does the under mounting, but this one is gonna be side mounted with some cool amenities. Thanks for the inspiration John....and yes I punched today in the face!
Nice build John. I’m going to do something similar but as I use the Ryobi One system I’ve two gang chargers. So I’ll have to modify this design a bit to incorporate them. Thanks for the idea.
Nice. Just wish I had more drills, drivers, and batteries to organize. It’s pretty easy to “arrange” my 2. 😁 I’m still working on stepping up my assclownery tool collection.
Fun build! Adding to the project list. Small criticism (hopefully constructive) - the camera movement is a fun addition but got a bit distracting in this video. Especially when sped up.
Glad to see someone who knows how to properly use glue and not use too much. Also, you don't indulge in that silly time wasting activity of spreading the glue around with either a bit of wood or your finger. Drives me nuts! Nice build.
John Malecki I also noticed the way you cut your dados. I wouldn't run that piece along the fence like that. Add 3/4" to your measurement and clamp on a block so that when your lumber is going through the blade there will be a gap between the piece and the fence. Less chance of binding at the blade and less chance of a kickback. Just a suggestion. But it's your hands. Good job otherwise, in my opinion.
Well I made the drill station and the final result turned out liked the plans called for. I am reminded with this project, like many others that are pre-made plans by someone, that you have to take the measurements with healthy skepticism. I cut several pieces before dry fitting and found the measurements off, wasting some wood. I blame myself, of course, and not Malecki. Just be forewarned to review all measurements and dry fit before cutting. The measurements I found incorrect were: Part B: Reads as 9 1/4" x 13 1/2". Should have been 14 1/2". Also Part D: Reads9 3/4" x 47" and should be 9 1/4". One other general comment... make sure you check plywood for straight before gluing and screwing. I found at least twice that I was not level or square and had to "manipulate" the wood into position for correct square. I do appreciate the design.
Bought your plans because I really liked your build. Need some help on this please, Part D the bottom shelf calls for 9 3/4 wide, part G vertical hanger supports calls for 9 1/4 long. These cuts will not be flush. Don’t both D and G need to be the same width and if so what measurement? Thank you for your time.
Love it, I just wish you would’ve set up a easier way to pay. Like Apple Pay or PayPal where you don’t have to enter all your information.😔 really wanted to get theses plans.
Nice build John, loads of space and well laid out! Tell me you used more than 2 screws to attach it to the wall. The unit seems bombproof with all the glue and screws you used to construct it is hate to see it come crashing down when it's fully loaded 😁
I went to cut my stock down today and I noticed that on the outside panels two of them you got the dimension 18 3/4 x 10 but on the cut sheet on page 3 got 18 1/4 x 10 which one should it be
I think it is a Graco gun thst uses Dewalt batteries. I have the VSP 360, corded version, from Graco and it was great for paint. But when i tried to spray a matte poly, i got pretty bad orange peel texture. After several adjustments and attempts, it didn't really work like i wanted it to. But his may be a bit different and would love to know the process, and if the spray left a texture that was ok for furniture and not just shop projects.
I have the plans for the "Drill Charging Station", I cut all the pieces off the "Plywood Part List". I noticed the measurement where different on the "Parts List" for part A&B. Could you please give me the correct measurements on the two parts. Thank you in advance.
Never understood why people with festool track saws never use the track saw for the final dimention right away, and just skip the table saw. I have two festool track saws, and a large cabinet saw with sliding side table, and the festool's are just as good at making straight cuts. Don't get it. For me i have used them for making speaker cabinets and guitar amp cabinets for years and i don't see the point of pre cutting.

Should i just throw my drills in a drawer then ? I obviously need somewhere to store them, why wouldnt i try and help provide inspiration and help to anyone looking to build one for themselves. If no one did content that already existed, our whole community would have nothing to build
Hey John. Love your projects and just bought this Drill Station Plan. I'm brand new to woodworking, so I need to follow the plans to the letter. I just finished cutting all the plywood down according to the Cut list parts diagram. Now I moved onto the actual cutlist Parts list on the page 3, and I notice there are differences. Not sure how I should move forward. My parts are all cut. Part A - Diagram says 18 1/4" and List says 18 3/4" (I already cut 18 1/4") Part B - Diagram says 14 1/2" and List says 13 1/2" (I cut 14 1/2") Part D - Diagram and List both say 9 3/4" but a youtuber below stated that he built it and that it should be 9 1/4". I don't know where to go from here. Do you not have updated plans? Are you able to help me past this? I'm brand new at this stuff, and stuck cause I don't know which measurement is right.
What'd you end up doing here? I've got my Part D hanging out and I'm thinking I want to cut that down to 9 1/4". The part A and part B I didn't even notice until I read this. I think I cut them to what the diagram says. My first guess is to just make sure they're parallel when standing on the table. My angles are off a bit between A and B, so I need to straighten those out a bit if I can. If I need to shorten them a little then I'll just cut the back panel a bit narrow also to it.
My bad,,, I forgot to mention that I probably have to pay double the price for shipping and then another double on taxes,,, point is, maybe 50% of the viewers are NOT located in tRumpland, so nothing is nailed,,, but then again, >50% of tRumpanians have never been outside their own state, so no wonder they dont have the capability to think alternatively,,, sorry

Looking at this now.. your videos really have made some progress.
Bought Plan's converted in vcarve pro after 30 minutes in CNC beautiful build thanks.
I like your minimal tool approach.
Love the video, short and sweet, no blowing bubbles.
And not ONE damn pocket screw, icing on the cake!
Glad you dig is Craig!
Beast of a drill station! So much room for activities
Soooo much room for activities
Definitely going to make one of these. LOL, gotta get a router and table. Those are awesome.
Thought it could be a nice touch for the top to be sloped so the chargers are easier to see.
Thanks for posting this. Bought the plans and finished mine yesterday. Feels pretty good. Appreciate you!!
Your intro is one of my favorites out of all the makers
Ah glad you dig it patrick
Great project. After watching this I went on amazon and bought me a drill station lol
I lol'd
I bought 5 of the Montezuma 4-bay stations from Home Depot for $40 each. LOL

Thanks man!
Oh how you and your channel has changed!!!!😊
Awesome Work!! your video gave me the ideal to try and build my own tool organizer and it came out ok, Thanks

Glad you dig it !
2:30 that bead of glue was perfection
I thought the same exact thing LOL!
I don't have as many drills as you, so I think I might make this and modify it a little to fit some other cordless tools. Great video!
Yea dude, its a nice addition to any shop! and you can easily adjust it with the plans
Excellent home for your cordless drills and accessories.
Yea its a solid project and easy to do
Love Woodcraft, and they picked a great channel to sponsor!
i think so to!
thank you. It is very helpful.
Great project John! I keep meaning to get to this project myself. Maybe soon. Thanks for the great content.
You’re welcome Aaron. glad you like it
Nicely done John! 👍👊
Thanks Fred
Yo that song you played at the beginning is fuckin siiiiick!
Hi John, im polish too, but not american. Nice shelf
ahh yes! thank you!

It must be hella easy to build stuff with tools like that!!
it does help, but projects like this doesnt matter what kind of tools you have.

I built it. A lot of datos for those without a stack. I used a pocket router. Overall..it was a good 1st COVID woodworking project.
Sweet build, John!
Thank you Bryan!
Việt Nam...good job!!
nice storage unit. im trying to organise my workshop to make it more efficient. so i need to build something like this
more efficiency the better !
Nice job
Crazy how far the videos have came
Great content always
But videography is superb now
really nice build. It looks great.
Appreciate it Darin
Nice build and video! Keep rocking 💪🏼💪🏼👍👍

I just subscribed before watching this so it better be good! :)

John Malecki Forgot to add that that's when you're using your saw miter to run long material through the blade. Safer. Again, in my opinion.
Cool project, I definitely need to organize my drills/batteries. Thanks for the inspiration! 👍🏻
Thanks Seth, really appreciate it brother

cool!!

haha always room to grow!

John Malecki ha I thought as much. Keep up the good work brother
Hey John, great video, impressive quality. How about that watch? What is it?
What dado blade do you use?
Hello, I'm designing a hanging organizer for some of my tools , what tip would you give me to make it as efficient as possible?
I'm gonna use it for manual tools and tool boxes basically
I dunno, I would say design it for growth and not specific to any tools
John Malecki ok thanks, I wasn't thinking in that. Thanks for read the comments
What cordless spray rig did you apply the finish with ? Looked like a 20v dewalt battery in it . Thx for the video you build some awesome stuff .
its a cordless Graco sprayer. Its awesome!
Looked for the plans to buy, only thing i see is a whole book for $100.00 ???
Looks great and I want to build one myself now.
One question, how does the rubber on the drills hold up where it sits on the rails?
Thank you.
Do you have sizes cutting wood?
how do I get your cut list?
What brand and model is the battery operated sprayer you are using at 4:48?

Angie Overton water based polycrylic. He says in the video he sprayed it.

Why dose no one answer the question on what counter sink there using
Off the shelf from woodcraft!
Why do you have so many different systems? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to stay with one brand and just buy more batteries?
Not every company makes the size and style of the drills. I also run multiple people in the shop!
