One of the nicest drill/battery cabinets I have seen. Really like the drop down shelf for your bit storage. Well designed. Along with the tape trick for mounting things with keyhole slots, I sometimes put the back of an item on my printer and make a copy of the back. It works well on smaller things.

I want to pay you a huge complement: the ingenious and simple way you figured out to transfer the hole patterns from the back of the tools to the board using tape was 'phenomenal'. I am a design engineer and can appreciate the effectiveness and simplicity of what you did. I will use your method to perfectly mount my Rear Wing Aleron on the rear decklid of my sports car. I had developed similar methods using tape but the particular twist you used just can not be beat! with all my experience over 20 yrs. in one of the world's biggest auto studios and you beat me with a simple variation on how to use the tape! lol well done little lady! keep up the good work !!
Brilliant! When my wife saw me watching this video, she stayed to see what was going on. First thing she says to me is "This girl's legit!" I agree 100%. My wife is uber handy too and often gives me great advice on projects I'm working on. She learned from me, but is able to see problems in a different light and often saves me huge headaches by coming up with a better way to do something than the way I was doing it. Loved this video!

Bought the plans and built it - thanks! Extremely perfect for my humble collection of drivers. Can I coin a learning phrase: "micromistakes"? I made a bunch of them. 🙂 Of course, I had to tinker with the design, though my router micromistake perfectly matched yours! My drawer sits on 1/2 plywood runners glued to the top of the shelf underneath the drawer as I wanted to take pressure off of the pins. A little wax and it slides just fine. Of note, the plug of the powerstrip you linked is wider than the forstner bit hole. No issue for me as I located the strip on the side of the box to be able to switch it off. I also have access to the additional strip outlets if needed. Not as clean as having it behind the false front, but more utilitarian.
Late to your party here but fascinated by the thorough detail and description of this build. I too have cordless tools from different manufacturers mostly because what I wanted wasn't available. This build will make my little workshop look professional. Thank you for making this video.
Just finished building this. My first ever build. I purchased the plans and they were so easy to follow unlike some I have purchased from etsy. Such clear step by step instruction. Thank you.
I bought your plans for this project a couple of weeks ago and have finally managed to finish making my own charging station the day before yesterday. Many mistakes were followed by many do-overs, with the result that I ended up with lots of off-cuts and two sizeable pieces of wood left out of a whole board! 😊🤭 But it does the job of providing room for all my cordless stuff, which includes an impact driver, three drills, a random orbital sander and all their batteries and three different brands' chargers, so I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself, thank you very much! 😎 My phone's calculator app worked overtime to convert all the measurements to metric for me, but I managed to make only one mistake, I think, as far as that was concerned. If I may, just one tiniest of tiny correction: In the cut list on p3 you show the pull-out tray to be 18 7/8'' wide, which is correct, of course, since it has to slide in and out, unlike all the other shelves, but on p8 you show the same pull-out tray to be 19'' wide, same as the shelves. It's no biggie and anyone who's paying attention should pick it up, but I just thought I should mention it. Good grief, I wish I could draw plans like that!
Very good project one trick i use when installing iron on edging is to wear a glove on my left hand it not only stops you from burning your fingers but more importantly you use it to rub the tape down without having to pick up a roller I find it dose a far better job. Thanks for sharing 👍
Very clever - especially the repurposed shelf pins! I did wonder about the recessed charger panel - but you had enough clearance to insert the batteries (probably not by accident). Thanks for the ideas.
You've got some cool features here! I like the sliding/pivoting drawer a lot, and I really love the false front with the hidden cables for the chargers too!! My first charger station didn't have the cables hidden and it drove me nuts.
Just to help a little, your batteries should be charged in an hour. So put a timer in the back so it runs for one hour each day, to keep the batteries healthy, no overcharging. Hope that helps a little. Great design and video. Thanks for sharing.

Great build and lots of customized solutions for various tools and parts. I like a simple solution of using a hook for a nail gun - sometimes it is better to not overcomplicating things.
Nice build Marie. I most admit that I'm a bit jealous that Festool is giving you a track saw. I guess that comes with 152K subscribers. What sets this build apart from others I've considered is the charger mounting / false front. Very ingenious. Also admire your honesty for calling out the router miss and commiserate with you. I've done that before too.
A nice set up. I have been looking to devise a pull out tray for spices in an upper cabinet. My first two attempts have been cumbersome. Your pull out tray is simple and elegant. Just loaded your plans and will try it out. Maybe trial no. 3 will be the winner! Merci!

Awesome build for sure! I like how you hid the wires in the back. You have inspired me to build mine out of FRT plywood. IMO… which often means nothing sometimes haha😂 I would have placed the power strip on the outside-side.
I bought and downloaded the plans, and made it without the tray. It looks awesome, but I wish I’d put the tray in. I also used a measuring tape holder off a broken tool belt to hold my nail gun, it works perfectly.
Very nice work! One thing I would do differently is add a small roundover on the bottom of the drillholding “T”s as to prevent damage to the drills and to edges of the holders.
Great idea and execution. Your no nonsense clear videos are excellent and make these projects very approachable. Still loving the Router table of yours that I built last year. Keep up the great work.

This is SPECTACULAR. Very efficient use of space! I love the pull out drawer and the false front solution to the chargers; I will be stealing both of those when I eventually brave the heat and get back into my shop. I also love the quick bit access solution! One thing I might recommend is rounding over the T's where the drills hang; I did this on my current drill station and it has saved me many gouged fingers. As always, this is great and thank you so much for sharing! PS - I envy you so much for having a Home Depot that will cut things for you.
Turned out nice and could be easily modified for the brand of cordless tools you have. One thing most people don’t know is when applying edge banding a j-roller or a roller is not the tool to use. You should always use the edge of a screwdriver or a steel rod to burnish the banding, pressing/rubbing fairly hard to force the hot glue into the edge of the plywood and a file is the best way to trim the excess banding. Those trimmer’s can catch the grain of the wood and mess up or chip the banding. A very sharp block plane a chisel can work.
Love the cabinet with its dropdown tray (I would add low-level sides on left and right). The tape solution for locating the securing screws is a charming idea. The whole thing is very useful and clever. Waiting for your next adventure.
Nice. I found a site that had adjustable tool calculator - spots for drill/drivers. Interestingly it also hold my Ryobi jigsaw in it as well. I just attached the charger on the side, as I only have Ryobi with seven batteries of different capacities.
I like the pull out idea. I'll use it for some measuring and marking tools separately. And my hand tools. Maybe chisels. Drills and batteries use a similar set up but with upright slides for bits.
Good old princess auto I drove by there today! I like the slide out tray and the bit holder that’s awesome. I have the same magnetic bar for my tools I bought the 3 pack.
I have to agree with the mob, the best one I've seen on the net. I can't wait to make this one. I'm going to make some personal mods for my tools, but that is an awesome idea for the chargers and drop shelf.
Wow ❤love it, but one tiny bit of problem with all the hit while charging we need a ventilation for the hot charger. Just my poiint of view ....feedback only. Yours the best I will keep following, thanks for all your share👍🏻
I love your little edge-banding trimmer. I often use edge-banding but the trimmer I tried years ago was utter rubbish and I never looked for a good one. The metal T square you use was also nice. I will look for that.
Very nicely made Marie much better than your other one. On your drop down draw (wow trying saying that fast ha ha ha) you put your drill bits in there but seeing as there are no sides, what is stoping the bits sliding out one day when you just throw a new set in one day, and a set comes out the other side. If you put in a couple of sides that would solve it, just saying don't shoot the messenger ha ha ha. Stay Safe, Barry (ENG)
Yeah initially thought of adding thin strips on the side but decided to wait on that and see how I feel after using it for a while (and see if things do indeed tend to fall out). So might be an addition down the line.

Wow ❤love it, but one tiny bit of problem with all the hit while charging we need a ventilation for the hot charger. Just my poiint of view ....feedback only. Yours the best I will keep following, thanks for all your share👍🏻
I love your little edge-banding trimmer. I often use edge-banding but the trimmer I tried years ago was utter rubbish and I never looked for a good one. The metal T square you use was also nice. I will look for that.

Very nicely made Marie much better than your other one. On your drop down draw (wow trying saying that fast ha ha ha) you put your drill bits in there but seeing as there are no sides, what is stoping the bits sliding out one day when you just throw a new set in one day, and a set comes out the other side. If you put in a couple of sides that would solve it, just saying don't shoot the messenger ha ha ha.

Yeah initially thought of adding thin strips on the side but decided to wait on that and see how I feel after using it for a while (and see if things do indeed tend to fall out). So might be an addition down the line.
Great idea to organize most of my battery powered tools and for a quick access.
