- The downside to going cordless is having batteries and chargers all over the place.
In this video, I build a simple DIY wall-mount power tool battery charging station for my cordless tool batteries and chargers. When I need to use my tools on the go I can pop the charger and batteries out to take with me.

Those AEG tools look identical to those that are branded as Ridgid here in the US. Nice build though. I'm going to steal it for my Ridgids.
The Ridgid are actually AEG but with a different tag for sale here in the US. Den of Tools has a pretty nice video explaining a lot of it. I too will be doing some creative borrowing for my Ridgids as well.

Neat installation. For working on a large job at a remote location, IIWMI'D take the whole battery station rather than grab parts. I particularly like the cord slots instead of large holes or taking the cord end apart & reassembling
Agreed. Came here to say the same thing. Just put a handle on it and maybe a door that's easily removable so nothing falls out in transit.

With the way power tools are heading I doubt if making your charging station more compact is a good idea, I mean everything nowadays are available corded or with rechargeable batteries so it can only go bigger :D Nice build, thanx for sharing!

Never heard of AEG, but those are sold as Rigid Tools in North America (made by TTI like Milwaukee and Ryobi). Good tools.
I like the installation and whole setup, but please do swap the wagos for 4 slotted ones - they're really not designed to take multiple cables in one hole, even with low current draws as these :-)
Awesome idea for battery storage and management. I've been inspired by this to organize my own battery mess that's been taking up a large portion of my drafting desk for a number of months now. Awesome content as always!
Some good ideas as usual. And you've always presented as a solid, good guy who's a fount of clever cost-effective solutions. But...
The AEG sponsorship thing was way over the top, with their branding seemingly fit into absolutely every shot. I've never seen anything like it. Credibility is so hard to build -- you've worked hard for years to earn it, you've got it, don't risk tarnishing it for the sake of a sponsorship or two. The reality is that sponsors will come and go; and your reputation will always be your greatest currency, so protect it as the foundational piece that it is. Check out the Wood Whisperer's recent video on his losing the long-time sponsorship of Powermatic; it's a lesson in integrity. All the best.

The amazing part of this is how you continually think up all of these projects. I love watching your videos! I have 4 different makers and all have multiple batteries. I was going to make a combo drill and driver holder with charger and battery storage, but perhaps it is better to separate them for ease of positioning on French cleats. Well done!

I have a similar station and also use it to charge my phone and in the remaining space to put my bluetooth speaker, tablet or laptop, while I’m working.

Curious why you didn't just use a small power box like we use in North America rather then the extra time, materials to make your own ( I can only presume you have an electrical background as I would never recommend the average person wire up a box themselves, they'd burn the place down).

@10:54 as long as the board has enough support to mitigate or null the danger, but use the tools at your discretion
Nice one, added to my list of projects to do. Umm...I think you use chisels the other way round with the bevel down, otherwise they just dig deeper into the wood.

Great idea. At some point I may look at something similar myself. I also use AEG tools over here in New Zealand (from what I gather, they are rebadged Rigid), and I have had no issues with them so far. I would be interested to see/hear what you have to say about them after using them for a while. Keep up the great work!!

I don't understand, though, what the cut outs on the right hand side of the enclosure are for though...
Very neat, having just made a version I wish I had made a cupboard to hide the cables rather than using cable ties! Love the Wago connector blocks, really make life so much easier, although I believe you should have used the 5 way version therefore avoiding the need to double up when you added the power cord!
There have been a number of fires caused by battery chargers. Batteries either be in charged or left in the chargers, have caught fire. So the suggestion for the chargers themselves, mount them in a metal cabinet. I think if you line the would enclosure with metal facing the charges, it should provide enough of a heat shield.

I wouldnt worry about making it more compact, if anything id allow for more batteries and things to charge in the future (i have 9 batteries in my kit amd that number will surely increase due to redemption when i buy new tools)
But i rekon ill be doing something very similar when i get around to it

Great to hear that you found a sponsor. I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are all other brands covered with tape? It's not like you are now owned by AEG, right? I think it's good to use tools from any brand, as long as they suit your needs. Just my two cents. The project itself is great, as always and has made me think about my setup. Thanks!
I noticed he chose screws as fasteners to demonstrate the AEG drill. This was likely a condition of sponsorship. In similar builds, he uses a brad nailer not screws.
Do you have a link to that junction box you used for the power cables?
can you stick 2 conductors into the same hole on a Wago connector?

Looking into it.
Saw you installing a 3-terminal Wago on the 3 leads, thus leaving no spare terminal for the "external" power lead, and immediately thought to myself: "Yep, been there, done that"
Then I saw you putting 2 wires together under a single terminal and I went "Oh no".
I do feel like you should've used the 5-terminal Wago or at least a 2-wire ferrule to safely hold the leads together.
If you _really_ want to put 2 wires together, do it with the internal socket wires, those shouldn't move thus won't put torque on the connection.
I really wish AEG (Rigid), would make a smaller, less powerful drill range.
Their 18v drills are too powerful for cabinetry and finer drilling jobs.

Hi Jean, great project and nicely executed. I'd be keen to hear your review of the AEG products as time passes and how alike / apart from De Walt they are.. What's happening with your cabinet saw, would love to see it properly in action and those electrical connectors - where can we find them as I've not come across them before and they look really neat and easy to use. The connectors are called wago's. Very standard where I live (Belgium).
