This is a build form baltic birch plywood. It is to hold all of my cordless drills, impact drivers, and impact wrenches. I have quite a DeWalt collection built up and I need someplace to store it all conveniently.
I also built it to hold all of the screws that I use most frequently.
It will mount with a french cleat system on the wall of my woodworking shop.

King's Fine Woodworking Hi, Really like the drill shelf! Can you please share your plans with me?
How come you have no guard on table saw
Dpz
Way to go Dad, include your daughter in the process. I'm a girl and I find building things way more fun than crafts...boring! She will be way ahead of the game when on her own thanks to her Dad. I worked on airplanes as a young girl beside my father and now in my retirement am having blast learning wood working. Having no fear of tools, these type of project are right up my alley and helping me to organize my shop. Thanks so much!
I recently found your channel and just clicked subscribe. It is indeed a pleasure to watch you work as you are a true craftsman of your trade. The video format is wonderful; please do not change a thing. You show enough but not too much and thank God for no annoying music to take away from the content. Those things plus the fact that you include your family in your work. I'm sure she is a great helper but, as a dad, I know that's not why you do it. Your daughter will look back at these after you have left here and the memories she has of working with her dad in your shop will forever remain priceless.
Very cool to see you included your daughter! She’ll always have good memories of working with Dad!
You have an Amazing wood shop & Setup !!!! So glad to see your Daughters enthusiasm to Help along in the Shop
Well done 👍🏽 job. Love how your daughter is your helper.
I myself have found what I want to do when I grow up. Your videos are a tremendous library . Very nice to see your family involved. By the way I'm 65 and it's never to late.
Fine job, and your daughter is a trip, cudos to you for involving her in your work!!!
Hello James:
I have been watching you for years and love seeing the girls in the shop. I just watch the drill station video and think I will make my the same way. I will need to change some measurements but I love the inclusion of the big containers of screws. Nice job and no pretense to make it anything except a shop jig. I like that
I'm really glad I found your channel. You do good work with limited bs with great craftsmanship.
Thank you for such a nice comment.
Ditto... lol (seriously)
Hi Scott! Thank you for watching!
Just recently came across your channel while looking for this type of cabinet for my small shop. Thank you for the idea and the way you walk through the project without all of the added nonsense. You are a true craftsman my friend.
Beautiful piece of cabinetry! And great father daughter bonding time, these are the moments she’ll remember as an adult and share with her children.
I don't often comment, but awesome job on the project. Thought I was the only one who overbuilt stuff to last forever. You got a new sub
Love that your kid is helping you. She rocks!
Enjoyable to watch and listen to! best part is your not sponsored by some big tool brand trying to push these large expensive tools down my throat. you use tools that anyone could easily get their hands on and that are reasonably affordable!
Thank you!!
Something about watching a good woodworking craftsman is very satisfying. I enjoyed your videos. Very nice work.
I will start on mine today. Thanks for taking the time to document the process
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
G'day from Australia,
I'd like to reiterate some previous comments,
I am very pleased with the quality of your video and woodworking. I have subscribed to your channel and will be watching a bunch of your videos
Hi David! Thank you!!
Great build, easy to follow instructions. Definitely something I can add to my shop. Thank you.
Awesome. Thanks for watching.
My favorite .. :)) much needed home for my drills.. TY
Thanks for the vid. I will be making one of these shelfs, great descriptions.
I KNEW you were a CABINET MAKER within the first few minutes !! EXCELLENT work !! I bet you build some BEAUTIFUL cabinets ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us !! Your Daughter is a Doll and is no doubt a GREAT asset to your business. Thanks again, stay safe and take care !!
I’m really enjoying this channel. I like how your family comes together in the shop. Looks like a great time! You also do great work and provide helpful tips!
love this guy, talk about overkill
Thanks for sharing your skills with patience and clarity, I will do a cabinet for my drills and accessories, Thanks you guys,
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! While we've been friends for a while, and I've always admired your work, I've recently (made the time and) started binge watching your videos. I'm in a (4 year) process of moving, building a new large shop(and house), and designing and organizing it. (In the planning stages now). Your design of the charging station is not only common sensical when it comes to accommodating everything I need (drill-wise etc), but it is the first design that I find attractive, practical and the perfect fit for my new shop. Thanks again James. My fan level of you and your channel just went up a few notches!
Thank you Javi that is very kind!
Nice build. I just put up a clear wall in the garage, and am considering replacing the pegboard in the basement shop with one too.. I will be basing a drill/driver cabinet off your ideas. Having 3 different battery systems will require some modifications, but your ideas are solid. Thanks for posting them.
Nice job. I like the design and I especially like seeing the kids get involved.
Thank you!!
Slave labour dontcha know! ;-)
I WILL HAVE TO GIVE THESE PLANS TO MY HANDY MAN TO MAKE. THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT VIEDO. YOU DID A GREAT JOB AND IT LOOKS VERY NICE AND VERY STURDY.I REALLY LIKE THIS SHELF!!!
Hi! Thanks very much! There is a link to the plans in the description if you like.
cool seeing your kid help
You are my new favorite woodworking channel!
Just like always... great build! Sure glad I found your channel! 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing James!
Hi Bill! That is very kind! Thank you.
Love this build!
Great tools solution storage, very inspiring!
Amazing work! I’ve started to follow your channel very recently and it’s all amazing. Great guidance for a beginner like myself. I got myself into a big project building a wooden airplane flight deck for a simulator, your ideas and lessons on how to use tools have been great help already! Thanks!
I'm guessing you have a background in building bomb shelters:-) Nice build as always and keep spending time with your family you all work well together.
Haha. Thank you!
Great job on the quality build and video. I have watched this and all 4 videos of your miter station, and have really enjoyed your videos along with seeing your daughter'senthusiasm to help! ☺ Keep up the great work!!!
Hi Jordon! Thank you!
Good craftsmanship , good tome of voice. Good instructions. I'll listen the more
Eric Brouillette, thank you!
King's Fine Woodworking
I agree.... :-) Thanks, James.
Been looking for a storage cabinet for a long time, but all the ones I have seen leave a lot to be desired, in my book. Thank you for this video. I happen to have a couple of 4x8 sheets of Baltic Birch that will become as close to your cabinet as I can get them.
This may sound stupid, but it never occurred to me to angle the chargers downward for easier access to them. I'm glad that I haven't built it yet, so I can still make changes to my plan/drawing of the cabinet I want to make for my cordless tools and their batteries. I haven't decided to make a cabinet with a door or no door. Any suggestions? James, Thank you for another great tutorial! I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!! ~Dolly
Well done Sir. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
I built a subwoofer box out of 3/4" MDF. I used Liquid Nails in all of the corners and it made the box super strong. It was so strong that I couldn't break the box apart with a hammer, even with all of the screws removed.
Nice job. Now I need one
Perfect. Now you must make it. :-)
I can’t believe I just found your videos! Excellent project. I would love some detailed plans. Very well presented.
Great tolls storage solution!
Very nice! exactly like what I am needing myself for my workshop! Thanks!!
Awesome, thank you for watching.
Great work mate. Very happy I found your channel
Hi Craig! Thank you!
Great video and project. You have a tremendous shop.
That looks really handy nice job
Hey nice build and video. Great to see you have your child involved.
Thank you!
Excellent build sir. I have a small one car garage that I am turning into my workshop and after lining all the walls and ceiling my first job will be to make this style of cabinet, I will add one difference though, locking doors for added security.
Tone Knight, thank you. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Charging Station was a fun build.
like that center drill jig.
I think I'll be making my own shortly...Nice work.
Hi Ed. Thank you!
After a LOT of hunting I found little plywood supplier in Goshen IN with Baltic birch (they call it Russian birch) for $27 5'x5' 18mm (around 3/4"), excellent stuff! Well worth the 1 .5 hour drive for me. Just wanted to brag a bit.
You do beautiful work! There's enough fasteners it should survive a cat 5 hurricane!
Haha! Thank you very much.
Really neat idea. Something that nice deserves some paint!
Great work!
Definitely one of the better videos on RUclips thanks Aaron plus you have one new subscriber !!
Hi! Such a kind thing to say! Thank you very much.
Excellent build!
Thank you.
I love how you make it a family affair........Awesome.
You have a very soothing voice
Thank you
Nicely done
Thank you!
WOW, you have a lot of drills
I've watched this videos a few times now and it's still interesting. I enjoy your other ideas and videos too. I especially like when you say, "the glue God's would be happy." Ha ha!
Just watching this video. Awesome project i need to me make one now.
Yes, you should. :-)
Great organization..love it
Thank you!
Well done!
Nice build. Doing something similar some time or other myself. Soon as I figure out where I want it.
NICE JOB....THANK YOU !!!!
Beautiful 👍
Just found this! Amazing to see how far the shop has evolved. Also, i see the early evolution of the photobomber.... I had no idea that you have gone through at least three different miter saws.
Haha. It’s so different today than the last video too. But we do have 3 new vids that are almost done filming, so you can see a new evolution too. And also, I’m thinking I should do a shop tour soon. We are currently getting a complete new dust collection and air filtration system installed.
@@KingsFineWoodworking I will be watching!
This is badass built for me. I'm just a beginner. I need hands-on to build this
Great Work and explanation
Thank you!
Very good. Really enjoyed watching that.
Thank you!
Great build! First time watching your channel. I found you because I have been looking for the right cordless drill/charger cabinet. I haven't been happy with the ones I've come across until I saw yours. Thanks for sharing. I just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you! And thanks for subscribing.
I love the design. Your charger shelf is tilted at angle, which makes a little cavity behind it. I think the design might be further enhances to put another board level at the bottom of the charger shelf and then drill a hole through the charger shelf and side so all the excess cord could be place in the cavity. You could then mound a power strip on the outside of the cabinet. Thanks for your great channel!
good job
Very good job👍👌
Love it...
fantastic !!
Very Heavy Built Shelf Very Nice!!!
Thank You!
I will be getting those plans.
Very good vids
Question James. Fantastic vid. How did you make that little dado marking board? Tyvm...Michael
That looks awesome! Very nice video.
Thank you!
James great build as always I got to say this is the first buil that you haven’t used a gallon of glue on lol
jees, i think that thing could withstand anything, its probably stronger than most houses
JimmY, haha. Thank you.
Beautiful! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you!. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
Awesome !!!
Thank you!
Like start by saying that I can’t stop watching your videos. I’m just getting started with woodworking....And by just getting started I mean I just bought some tools the other day. Waiting to see if I get a garage rental. Anyway I would really like some guidance or advice you can give me will be most appreciated. And if you have the plans for this cabinet let me know I would love to build the same one. Thanks and keep the videos coming 👍
Excellent
Good evening, I am very pleased with the quality of your video, and woodworking. I have subscribed to your channel and will be watching a bunch of your videos tonight, if you continue your hard work your channel will evolve I am very sure of it. Thank you for your time.
Thank you very much. I will certainly continue working hard.
Good job dad and daughter. 👍 😉
A lot of work but it turned out real nice and sounds like it was exactly how you wanted it.
Nice job 👍
Thank you!
I thought I put a lot of screws in my projects.......nice work, I think your grandchildren will be using that too.
I just put mine on a shelf in the dead space area, works great! took me 2 minutes to hang the shelf.
Awesome.
I have 15 DeWalt drills, so using a shelving system like yours could pose an issue. They fit in the Kobalt cheapo tool box big drawer pretty well though. I find myself using mostly, my Milw... Surge, its really quiet. I think you made your shelf stronger than I make things, and that's really something. Looks like its really heavy! I like it though!

Very nice station dewalt 🥇
Thank you.
I’m interested in your plans there’s a couple things I might change make it kind of my own deal but overall good Build
I think this would make a great lead in for designing and building a nail gun/ nail center next. Something which still protects them from collecting dust at the air connectors. Maybe small drawers for connectors and hangers on the side for the air hose(s)?
Hi Clyde. That's a great idea. If you are in Denver, you buy the plywood and I'll make it for you for free.
