I Am Four Parallel Universes Ahead Of You - 5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel

- 5D Chess With Multiverse Time Travel Part 3 - the big brain board comes out. 8x8 5D Chess brings out the craziest strats, the insane multidimensional hopping, and ridiculous time travel checkmate. Probably the final episode, so enjoy the last of it.
Edited by: kingkiio
5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel is generalized from ordinary chess. There are two spatial dimensions, a third unused spatial dimension, a fourth dimension representing time, and a fifth dimension representing parallel timelines. When pieces travel to the past, paradoxes are avoided by using a branching timeline system. Capture a king to win!

Alright, as much fun as I had playing this game, this is the last video of it LOL. After beating Cosmic Express, I feel like super difficult games were missing from the channel, so this should serve as enough complicated strategy stuff for the next month or so.
It's probably easy to understand if you watch the tutorial video though: ruclips.net/video/FFppI9yej40/видео.html
Try beating the game without going into other dimensions (unless forced to).
YESSS FINALLY MORE 5D CHESS

I watched all the videos available but is still too big brain for me

Forcing your opponent to forfeit by annoying them is a classic 6th dimensional move
The psychological dimension is sometimes referred to as Donkey Space, because people who go there are asses.

he wasn't lying when he said only bad chess players understand this game
so im good at chess, thanks. but this game is so weird and a little confusing.
The reason why is because the first instinct a person new to chess would have is to learn as much as possible
The first instinct of a chess expert is to time travel/switch dimensions as little as possible
I’ve watched a lot of videos and few other players are any good. Most of the people who are good at chess struggle with understanding how it works. That’s understandable though because they know how pieces move rather than having to think about it. So they don’t even realise that the green boxes are telling them where they can move.
I'm not that good at chess, but all of my 4d tic tac toe experience really helped me understand what was happening

The number one strat in 5D chess:
Often play really distracting and unrelated moves to confuse them as well as to make the game as long as possible then move a good piece like a bishop or queen or knight(the horse) way back to the second board
You will win automatically due to player frustration
You can only do it with a rook; knight can only do two turns back, rook and queen can do a max of 8 turns back (since they’d also have to move 8 squares on that board in the past).
@@alexsiemers7898 oh i see well then
PREPARE FOR 2 NEW BOARDS
@@alexsiemers7898 Why can't a queen move only back in time like a rook?

@@alexsiemers7898 What? A queen can move left, right, up, or down without moving in any other direction.

Funny stuff
What? How?
@@suckonfatman6027 mostly am exaggeration but the biggest chess streamer and RUclipsr used his video to learn how to play 5d chess, didn’t get it, and never touched it again, and neither did anyone else
@@drageoksllechtim2078 if anything I think his videos help spread the word of 5d chess. I mean sure, some of them were just confusing to be confusing, but for every couple of people who get confused by it some of them will leave the video thinking "wow this is so cool I wanna learn more"
@@chaoticstorm8145 I feel like the people who would get overly-confused from a video designed to make a confusing thing even more confusing probably wouldn't be any less confused if they watched a non-confused video (because it would still be confusing enough)
@@OrangeC7 Part of the issue is intent. They went to that video in order to learn, not realizing that it wasn't actually a tutorial. It explains things poorly, thus priming them for a poor experience. Having seen his second one, I find it pretty understandable, but the first one does a bad job at explaining things (because that's not its purpose) and thus anyone who uses it for reference is screwed. I don't know about you, but properly explaining this game makes it pretty easy to understand the core mechanics, even if the long-term strategy seems impossible.

I kinda want the "time travel" aimation for that rook move. =)
Theres no 3 year old that is almost a grandmaster. Theres a 4 year old that almost won a show match against a GM, but the GM very obviously lost on purpose(he sacrificed his rook for no reason). His elo was just 1300 when I last checked. Thats really not that high, about as good as a typical player in a chess club. He'd beat anyone that just plays casually probably, but he is very far away from being a grandmaster.
ok
11:53 - the bottom board: the move was to move his king out of the way, either to the right or back in time, regardless of any future mate
The top board: OMFG JUST TAKE THE DAMN BISHOP-
If he went back in time it wouldn’t have been mate, right?
"Retrospect" has a whole new meaning with this game.

Fairly certain white could have mated you in 21:03 by moving the present knight to the past with Ne7+. Your past king would be in check and there'd be no way to capture the knight.
He could move the king to h8 or g7.
So this is the infamous Jurassic Rook
I don’t understand this even a little bit but I watch it every time he uploads
Watch this series (?) from start. I don't even know how to play chess but can roughly understand what is happening
Benismann He’s played this before? It’s the first I’ve heard of it
@@samuelbarker6755 He basically was one of the first big-ish people on youtube to play this game. (That's also why some GMs are thinking some of the videos where he explains stuff are tutorials...)
Imagine getting checkmated 6 times in one game
As a person who is fairly good at Chess, this would basically be playing multiple people at the same time.
But you can influence other people’s games with the other games you’re playing, and you’re able to create new players by moving in the past, and you have to think about how the opponent will move through time.
I think they might need to cap the number of moves back in time a piece can go. That last game, the opponent basically got to restart the game +1 rook.
Yeah, and that would mean that you would never lose if you can see check mate in the next turn. You could always just move to the beginning.
@@jackrudolf1745 no, they thought about this
@@jackrudolf1745 if you've made 1 more timeline than your opponent, all the next branches become inactive until the next branch your opponent makes, and then your first inactive timeline will become active
The fix they did for this is more chessy than capping numbers, because you can only do that once if your opponent is smart, because of the inactive timeline mechanic
@@jackrudolf1745 You can't always - you need to have a rook in a spot that is clear super early on in the game, and often rooks are still in the back row. But yes if you do have a rook in the right place, you can always escape a next turn mate.

As much as I love this idea, I still have no idea how any of this works lol
As much as I support others editing videos for your channel, kingkiio made some interesting decisions, especially the music choice and volume. Music sets moods, and I don't think it was implemented quite right here. I'm not saying the video was bad, just something I found funny and interesting. I still have to stan my boy Ben as your editor, but I think kingkiio did a good job regardless.
Hey Tyler! you introduced me to 5D chess from the first vid and I've been playing pretty much every other day since. It's a shame this is the last this is going to be your last video on 5D chess. Will you be playing on Twitch?
Jurassic rook got me real good.
24:20 he did pro stray you gonna beat me ima make you beat me endlessly til you get tired of it
damn tyler actually plays some chess and knows some theory i swear this has never been mentioned before for the yt crowd
While watching you play it out and explain the bishop move, i started to figure out that this game is just 5D Vector algebra, yikes
Haha, tricked you into learning!
Well, now we know how to easily defeat Tyler in this game
13:14 if he had moved his black-squared bishop to take out that pawn he could have both taken out both a bishop from his opponent guaranteed (and a rook if he's braindead), if he would have taken that bishop with his one, he would have set himself up for a near-definate checkmate. Too bad tyler didnt see that.
17:20 actually the worlds best chess player who was never defeated was born with an innate ability of playing chess
Yey another 5d chess video, i get why this is the last one, but it's a really good one
the music choice during that jurassic rook thing is so hilarious
i love it
11:55 take the bishop with the king in the top timeline and move one to the side with the king in the bottom one. Then, when your bishop targets his king in the past on the bottom timeline on his next move, he take the bishop with the queen from the top timeline
the second game feels like a time travel movie, where the characters learn that something bad happens to the characters (opponent) in the future and they have to keep messing with the timeline to stall until they find an out, while the villan (Tyler) tries to get them to their inevitable demise

In case anyone is curious, the legal escape at 12:00 was for the king in the bottom board to hop to an alternate timeline (the best option is the board above it), which removes the king from the check by placing it in a new timeline 3 realities above the check, and for the queen or king in the top board to take the bishop, allowing play to continue until another piece can get within spitting distance of the king.

15:15 - the double double double checkmate.
9:46 Tyler just blundered his bishop due to the fact that it can be taken and his soon-to-be check on the bottom timeline can be countered with Knight to f6 on the bottom timeline.
There are now turn timers! Love to catch a stream
AHAHAAHAHHAA dat move in the end was why he moved his pawn at the start, so lets go when he has 3 rooks at the start god damnit
My head hurts, love it
I think at 12:10 your opponent could take your bishop with the queen on the top board, play h6 on the middle board to connect top board h7 to bottom board h7 to play Q (top board)x h7(bottom board) the next move, but you would respond by playing Bxh7 on the middle board to block the path of the queen and causing checkmate.
I'm pretty sure though that the right response to that bishop check was not to time travel but play Kh8. If you try to take his king in the past it creates an optional timeline, and then your opponent can simply never branch the timelines again and you will now be down a bishop. Unless I am misunderstanding the optional timelines rules.
I want Real civil engineer, Reid, and Tyler to collab in poly bridge 2 and do a series
11:58 KL-1xa2
KL+1a1
thats the only moves I can think of, however, it would probably resoult in checkmate nex turn on L+1, but now he could move to the past in L-1 som ti would be stalled for some more time
Also, day ? of thanking tylers editors
Your playing Checkers, I'm playing 4D chess.
My favorite openin in this game (unless I see quick mate like 1.g3 e5 2.b3 ... 3.Bb2 ... 4.Bxe5#) is 1.g3 ... 2.Bg2 ... 3.Nf3 ... 4.0-0
It keeps your king safe from diagonal queen attacks and/or orthogonal bishop attacks. You an then prociide with e4/d4 and developing your other pieces once king is fairly safe from surprise time travel attacks
Next: six player three dimensional chess with multiverse time travel and board looping
Short explanation why the game wouldn't let Tyler's opponent move to the past around 11:30:
If he moves any piece on a board into the past it becomes Tylers turn on that board. Therefore he would leave one of his Kings in a position where it can be taken, which is not allowed. (The reason it can be taken on Tylers next Turn is, that boards in the Future are optional. Thus despite it not being the present, Tyler could still take it, and would not have to wait for the present to catch up.)
The legal move is opponent could have made btw, is to take the King and move it into the past.
he's four parallel checkmate's ahead than us
I think you have a mistaken impression of how interdimensional travel works in the present, though you seem really good at this game
11:58 Bishop in 0L(the one in the middle), back in time 2 moves to 0L D7.
nobody:
D4C: Bites The Dust:
I totally understand this..
Oh come on that was getting interesting.
Double king g8 isn't the only legal move. He could have also went back in time with a king. That wouldn't matter since he just loses. What he should have done is from his first move on the -1L timeline go back in time AGAIN by moving queen from -1Lh4 to +1Lf2 back in time. You would be in check and forced to take with queen, and since you were in check you can't stop him from moving his queen on -2L onto +1Lh7 by going down 3 timelines, 3 timelines in the future, and 3 squares up.
