Well done. Your explanation of each step would give even an entry level DIY mechanic the confidence necessary to accomplish this task.
Thanks! We are learning with every video we do. Better content is always one video away.
This is an awesome video! You should be proud that you're educating many folks even years down the road. Thank you :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Best radiator replacement tutorial, made it’s super easy for me to replace mine
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Some great camera angles there such as from the back of engine looking forward. Makes the process easier to understand. Thanks - ready to do the radiator on my daily drive NA now.
Glad it helped
I believe the extra cooler is for automatic transmission models. The replacement must be a "one size fits all" part.
Yeah, it could be used for other add ons like power steering coolers as well.
Thanks guys for a detailed video on this repair!
Thanks for the support, it’s greatly appreciated!!!
Nice and useful, will be doing that soon enough.
Thanks, glad we could help!
Cleanest video of this I've seen thus far.....thanks for putting in the effort for the rest of us.
I appreciate that!
Watched several radiator replacement videos and this is the best and easiest to follow so far! This gives me more confidence to do this. Biggest concern is jack stand placement as I’m always worried about getting under a jacked up car
Thanks for the feedback! Pinch welds are best. Sometimes I’ll throw the wheels underneath also if I start to get anxious while I’m under the car.
Thanks for the great video, I just started replacing mine and you made my life easier. I haven’t finished it yet because I need to buy new bolts, but I just wanted to say thanks and 👍
Glad we could help you!!
obviously i’m late to the party but this is a very thorough and well put together explanation, thank you a lot, i just got an aftermarket radiator and am planning on getting it in this weekend, your video is a lifesaver
Thanks for the support! Glad the video could help you out!
Perfect explanation. My '96 has that 'chocolate milk' look to the radiator. I am probably on borrowed time. The next nice, warm day will call for a radiator replacement.
Good idea! Better than getting stuck on the side of the road!
wow this is a quality vid thank you broski!
Thanks!!!
awesome job!!!
Thanks!!
My 1992 radiator just failed, so I found your video most helpful. Impressed the radiator held up for 30 years in NH weather.
That’s impressive! Glad we could help
mine too. big crack by the cap. the plug on the right fan, was silly, but this vid saved me. OMG! how dumb a design.
I wish I saw this video first. I watch another one and winged it when I try to take clips that attached the AC to the radiator. If i did it your way I wouldnt be in a pickle. Now I gotta try to reclip the AC line to the radiator. you showed an amazing view that made more sense to me. Thank you. I was losing hope and thought I had to remove my ac to get my Mushimotor radiator to fit
Glad it helped!
Nice video! When I’m doing a radiator swap I always like to run distilled water through the system and just give it a nice flush before putting new coolant in
Great tip!
I've been thinking about getting one of those funnels for awhile now. But "fill it and bounce on the bumper" just works so well sometimes! Lol
I used to do that, this is just a nice easy trick.
Thanks mate!
👍🏽
Thank you!
Glad we could help!
Nice video, thanks for fixing my car!
My pleasure!
Awesome tutorial. My NB1 has the same brown/green color, so it looks like I may need to do this sooner than later. I’ve only done basic maintenance on my car at this point, but I guess there’s there’s a time when you have to just jump into the more difficult jobs. Wish me luck that I don’t get in over my head.
Thanks! If you have any questions send us a PM on insta.
with this vid you should be good.
How much prediluted coolant do I need? My manual calls for 6 liters, so should I buy 2 gallons of coolant?
Yeah it’s always good to have some extra.
Couple tips I learned the hard way that weren't mentioned, if doing a full coolant flush be sure to run the heater to get the coolant/air flushed out of the core. Also make sure the rubber gasket on the funnel kit doesn't get stuck in the radiator fill neck otherwise you won't be able to (easily) get the rad cap back on.
The heater core will flush regardless of turning the heat on actually. It’s all propelled by the water pump, so fluid is flushing through the system no matter what!
Did not know about the filler neck rubber gasket. I’ll keep an eye on that in the future so it doesn’t bite me. Thanks for the head up!
Thank you for the video. I notice the two fittings coming out of the bottom. My replacement has those as well, but the stock one does not are they blocked off not sure if I should install it or not?
They are for a transmission cooler. You can leave them unblocked and it won’t matter.
@@NappMotorsports Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it...
did you jack it up from the engine or is there a subframe or crossmember there?
The front subframe crosses over right in front of the oil pan.
uhg. blew some belts over the weekend and now that that task is done my radiator is spilling out as I fill it. so... on to the next task...
Never seems to end!
That radiator cowl where your wrench rested at the beginning, is that oem? Is there a part number for it?
For those that find this question in the future it is referred to as "Seal, Bumper" NA75-50-0K7A and is held on by "Rivet. Fastener" NA01-56-145
You can also by radiator cowl covers aftermarket.
@@NappMotorsports yea admittedly the stock one is pretty thin and there's a circular punch out that can get old and fall out xD
Saw a nice aluminum one by Dave Fab UK but finding the drawing that had the oem one was nagging at me
Looking for a video on replacing the radiator on a 2006 NC miata
Don’t have one of those, sorry.
What are the two little gold hook ups on the bottom for?
Those are generic for a power steering cooler I believe. They don’t get used for anything.
@@NappMotorsports so I don’t have to connect anything to them at all?
We need better content, vvt & k turbo is what we want, we've all seen and know about radiator changes.. Cmon guys😉🤣
I think this will help someone doing this job! Thanks guys!
In due time Nyal. Build season is just around the corner. These videos not only provide general info but help us improve our process so production will be even better this build season.
