On this hunt we go in search of elk and mule deer but there was no elk to be found but plenty of mule deer. I tag along with my son Koy as he takes a dandy buck.

Great family adventure captured on film! ( you might want to get your boy some ear protection, my right ear is half deaf bc of young hunting experiences without them.)

I LOVE it pard, 13 and boning his own buck out and bustin ass like a man! He can out hunt most adults and that's the way it outta be, reminds me of growing up huntin with my own family........by no means would I consider myself a backcountry hunter but the 70-80 miles on the hoof-cycle in 8-9 days of elk huntin is very very familiar and I wouldn't change one mile of how I learnt to hunt for nothin

WOW! I bet you are one prod dad! I'm planning my son's first hunt for next season when he will be of age and this is really inspiring! I hunt deep so it's a little challenging to set up the area with a 10 year old but forging the experience is everything.
Your right on the experience is everything, remember that when your out with your son. I've been through it with all four of my boys, the first two I put a lot of pressure on myself to get them into game and I'm sure put a lot more pressure on them. My younger two sons I wasn't as worried about it and things went a lot smoother. Have fun and enjoy the moments.
