    A deck built over the top a septic tank that must be pumped is a hassle
    The service fee for such a task $$$$ Priceless

    Just the precise size of the holes you dig and hitting the lid in the right way shows your experience 👍

      Its honestly pretty easy usually. The lids are normally 6 feet apart. I was usually dead on within my first month

    If you're not going to maintain your tank and field then just get an outhouse and move it every month. These same people probably don't change their engine oil either.

    So glad I bit the bullet and added risers to my tank. Its a slab lid tank to so had to cast some concrete pavers to bridge the gaps outside the risers. Quite the project but will never have to dig it up again!

    can you put a bucket over the hole so it does not need to be dug back up or located to have it pumped every 3 years can a bucket over the hole work as a cheap DIY septic riser your videos are awesome to watch

    Listen Ya'll I have heard of a story where a family didn't locate where their septic tank was and gone ahead to add a build in addition to their house. It was a bedroom for their kid and then they got septic system trouble and the pumpers had to locate where the septic tank is. The soon found out it was right underneath that kid's bedroom!!! So they removed the rug and dug through the floor and and found teh septic tank! they had to bring the suction hoses through the bedroom window to get to the tank. Imagine having a septic tank right beneath your bedroom and having it exposed first thing when you get up! And that is why you should know where your septic tank is before adding additions to your home.

    I had a guy once with his tank under his concrete patio and it was not within 5 ft of an edge. Boy was he pissed. I assume at his stupid self for allowing it to happen. Time to get the concrete saw out!!!!! I had a lot of people that we had to cut out a piece of their sidewalks.

      Yes bury it again for a couple more years or you can add risers that are like sealed caps that stick just above ground saves a few $$$ when you need pumped again so they are not trying to locate and dig

    • @PoorPumperSociety

  • @curtcoker6359
    @curtcoker6359 Год назад +2

    Yeah don’t plant trees near your septic tank and ohhh how’s about not building a deck over your tank either that footer was less then a foot from being dead center of the intake side lid. How could someone not see it when digging the hole for that footer? Did they think you pump out septic tanks from the clean out port? They obviously knew it was important because the decking was cutout around it. Oh well at least when folks do wacky stuff that involves their septic system we get great videos out of it. 👍🏻

    Hi Dominick I was really interested in getting into a career short term of either plumbing or cleaning and pumping septic systems like you. What would need to be done pre-qualifications to enter into this type of field? And what is raw sewage composed of or made of that’s in those septic systems?

      @flyinginthedark6188 Год назад +6

      @@SodiumInduction-hv If you didn't pump it in the last 5 years, then it's better to inspect it. It may start damaging your drain field even before the toilet starts backing up.

    • @bmaiceman
      @bmaiceman Год назад

      @@SodiumInduction-hvSo like you flush a toilet and it don't drain smooth and easy with like slow drain and or you can hear gurgling in the lines. A great way is. You flush the 🚽 and your bathroom sink ir bath tub drain is going glug glug glug really bad. Also look for your clean out cap between the house and tank open it. If there is standing waste water in it that's an issue. Also large water usages causing backing up. Say washing machine causes waste into the tub coming up the drain then it slowly recedes. These are all signs something isn't right with your system. Or possibly a partial blockage in the line or inlet baffle.
      Locate the tank yourself. Dig it up if needed and open the inlet side. If water starts coming up out the tank. You fat a bad issue. Possibly a blocked outlet possibly a drain field failure.
      Don't jet your system go more then FIVE YEARS regardless of what your locol standards are. It's just a good practice....
      Also water leaks running toilet drissling tap in sink or tub can over tax your drain field.

    Actually, if they had filed for a build permit like they were supposed to, the county would have pulled the records, examined the build plans and found that the plans would not suffice as drawn due to septic tank location. They would have made recommendations to what changes had to be made before approving the plans and issuing the build permit!
