This record was a follow up to his version of "The Twist" which was an exact cover of Hank Ballard's version a few years earlier, but there was no dance craze in the mid fifties, but a few years later, Elvis was in the Army, Little Richard gave up Rock n' roll for Gospel Chuck Berry was arrested, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper were killed in a plane crash, so ... Rock n' Roll could have died all together in 1960, but the music business were handed lemons and made lemonade with them by starting new dances and songs on records that went with them all. It was then that dances were created like The Twist, The Wha-Tusi, The Pony and many, many more. The dance craze was just about to fade away in late 1964 when The Beatles hit the airwaves and brought Rock n' Roll back alive and kicking. And giving older Rock classics life again with a jolt much like Dr. Frankenstein, by The Beatles doing those classic old American rockers on their first couple of albums.

I'm so glad you found this Song. It's a Sequel Song to "The Twist" written by Hank Ballard of The Midnighters. His Real Name is Ernest Evans who got his name from a Lady named Barbara Mallory who was the First Wife of Dick Clark the Host Of American Bandstand. He debuted The Song in Philadelphia, PA in the 1950's. He's had other songs like "Limbo Rock, and The Fly" but The Twist has been his Signature Song. It was a very important Dance because it was The First Dance "Created" by Black People that White People Danced to. It's still one of the Biggest Dances of all time. In the 1960's there were all kinds of Twisting Songs. There was "Twist & Shout" by The Isley Brothers later covered by The Beatles, Twisting The Night Away by Sam Cooke (RIP) and The Peppermint Twist by Joey Dee & The Starlighters.
