Similar situation I used an apple watch for 3 years. Last April i bought an Oura ring and ditched the apple watch. I got into running and needed to buy a Garmin but I only use it to track my runs. Enjoyed the experiments in this video

That’s so interesting that you ditched the Apple Watch. What do you miss, if anything? I’ve heard the Garmin is fantastic!!

Well that was interesting. I have a love/hate relationship with my apple watch, but sometimes it amazes me, like when I'm shopping at the Mall with a friend and we get lost in different areas of the store and we use our watch as a walkie talkie...it's so much fun!

I wear my Oura ring to sleep at night since I dislike things on my wrist when sleeping. My Oura ring is used mainly for sleep tracking/temp elevation and Apple Watch for daily activities/gym - I feel like that works for me!

So are you telling me it’s ok to have both? 😂 My husband thinks I’m a nutcase (true)! But I am trying to be less addicted to tracking as I know full well that I’m super active! Thx for sharing!❤

@ Of course, why not?! 🤣 I have the budget model Apple Watch (SE) so I don’t have a lot of the bells and whistles of the newer one. (Atrial fibrillation detection, longer battery life, etc.) but I’m okay with that.
I also like the versatility of wearing both or wearing just one, since they’re both synced to my Health App!

Interesting video. I am o.k. with none. I worked in a hospital for years. They did not like you wearing jewellery, so i got used to that. I met this elderly lady in the grocery store one day. She said i just come here in the winter to get my steps, to exercise where it is warm. I thought that was awesome that she did that to stay fit and healthy. You can still learn from your elders. They are wise.😊

I don't have either. I have a friend who had the apple watch and would be so upset if she didn't get her 10,000 steps in. She would be out there in the dark at night walking just to get them in. I can't be that obsessed. I do my daily workout and that's it. I don't sleep with jewelry, especially rings and watches. God I sound negative LOL. The ring is pretty though ! Have fun with it !

Wow, so interesting! Love your detective work on this!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I used to have a fitbit and it would WAY overshoot my step count and calories like crazy!! I would somehow get over 20,000 steps and like 3000 calories burned, which was insane!! When it died, I got a Samsung galaxy watch because I'm an android girlie, and wowza- waaay more accurate at ~8 or 10k steps and ~2k- 2500k cals😅

I love my Apple Watch, steps/calories…./messages.
I tried for a year the Samsung Galaxy but really don’t like it. It was like the watch didn’t track my steps and activities correctly!
So I came back to my Apple Watch.
I don’t thing that Oura ring will satisfy me as I like to be able to see instantly the results on my wrist 😉

I had a Fitbit for 12 years, and just went to the Oura ring a month ago. I had the same experience with sleep and steps. With heartbeat, my understanding is that the Oura ring reader is closer to your veins and gets a different, more realistic reading than the wearables on top of your wrist. It also stands to reason that that would be a reason for the difference in sleep, because my aura ring gives me 10 points better sleep than my Fitbit did… Which I’m thrilled about! I believe that the rest wearable is more sensitive to things like shampooing your hairand just gesticulations while you’re talking. Then the order ring because I’ve noticed a drastic decrease in my steps doing nothing different in my daily life.❤ love all the data it gives you on sleep…Soooo much cool info‼️

@@MamaTennywanted to let you know, yesterday I could get my ring to sync. Their virtual assistant was cool, but ultimately it didn’t sync and they generated a ticket. Great customer service, a human got back to me in a few hours. Human told me basically the same steps, so I thought I would wait to see if it synced overnight…and it did‼️

Ok, so I’m not so bad!! Do you live in a warm climate? I don’t think even a slim Fitbit is going inside my winter snow boots!😂 And what is your result? Steps counted the same? Do tell! Thank you ❤️💋

Math ain't mathing... differential was 140 steps? Seemed more like an overall step difference of ~1200 steps.

    • @MamaTenny
      @MamaTenny  9 дней назад

Yes! Just 140 steps when I did a purposeful walk but the differential over the entire day was closer to 1700! (Remember I had to walk around my room just to hit the 10k on Oura and I had almost 11,800 Apple) I think that’s quite a bit! I do gesticulate a lot when talking and I do talk a lot!😂 Thanks for watching! ❤
