The Meyers Manx 2.0 Is How the Past Should Become the Present

- Meyers Manx 2.0 is how retro cars should be brought into the present. Its electric power is the least-interesting thing about it. The authentic design and open-air cheek is where it shines.

I have a 1968 Meyers Manx buggy and I think this thing is cool, well thought out and just enough modern to give it broader appeal.
Just one thing, can you set a beer on the fenders? That was one of the design requirements for the original Manx design
Brian Cooley = Instant like
A great, modern reinterpretation of a classic. Love it!
Must of been challenging doing this shoot with so many people around. Kudos for doing a great job!
The meyers manx has always been my favourite car of all time... Now that they're remaking it, i'm considering getting a driver's license to actually validate it.
Wish they would sell these as a kit-car option. Would be cool to put one of these together and you wouldn’t have to worry about production laws
You can I think still get a new kit
Crazy to see all these people in the shot not in awe that they're in the presence of the great Cooley. Another amazing breakdown
Now I want to put The Beach Boys on the turntable.
The back of the vehicle looks really good. Great design.
Everyone in the background looks like extras from Get Out.
Cooley should be doing in depth driving reviews for EVs as they are released. ICE vehicles as well.
I ordered mine. Although I don’t know how much it cost, or where I’ll put it.
Excellent, informative article - more like this, please!
Was this shot at the 2022 Catalina Wine Mixer?
Beautiful... but a total miss on not mentioning cost.
I absolutely love this, it would be perfect where I live. My biggest concern is with only 325/year manufactured the price will be sky-high and only the thieving magpie peddlers will get them...
btw excellent reporting and photography. I don't see where to sign-up for one, looked several times on the MM 2.0 EV website, ugh.
The company has said “it won’t be cheap but it won’t be too expensive” I am unsure what the total price will be, what do you think?

2:07 Oh let me sneak a look at the exact moment someone is filming. Tact is becoming a thing of the past.
Great video 👍
Unfortunately their website doesn't have much info or price available
I'm interested. How much will it cost to deliver to Malta 🇲🇹 EU.
Now bring back the Suzuki Samurai in ev!!
The Manx probably inspired the Speed Buggy Saturday morning show in the 70's and maybe influencing sales for Manx.
In the 70's Deep Purple Dune Buggy
N.Y. Suburb rolling around -,very very cool.
I’d like to see an electric “Schwimmwagen” model based on the design.
I want one of these because the Bifta is my fav car in GTA-V.
If I had one I would pull the electric motor out and use it for a garage door opener and put a real motor in it... Some things just shouldn't be fooled with...
Like the concept. Could easily have been electric 4 wheel drive so as not to get stuck in the sand.
I think many people would want one….They are just fun.
4:18 Wait! Still no Storage under the Bonnet. Whats is inside that 15 Gallon Fluid Tank under the Bonnet? Maybe Coolant for the batteries and motors? A car this Caliber should have a full size spare.
I really want this 😍
Sorry to be a grouch, but the fact that there isn't a street legal mid to full sized EV this freaking simple that is available for the general public, really freaking ticks me off.
VW has a electric dune buggy prototype. Bigger, street legal. The ID. BUGGY is built on the MEB platform. We'll see if it goes to production.
Will this be street legal in California? Is it towable?
Brian does a lot of EV content, is he a more of a fan of electric power over petrol power?
Did I see a rear seat in there?
May need a few more things to make it street legal. Headrests and airbags come to mind, but I could be wrong.
wish they sold shells of these 2023 dune buggies, and all you have to do is put the really old VW engine in it, and slap the classic buggy mirrors on and the classic speedometer..
Wheels sticking out of fenders a no-no.... lack of mud flaps in the back to stop stones kicked up into windshields.
The front axle!
They need to implement the new Tesla plug standard for this thing to be perfect
Is it automatic or manual?
Electric vehicles don't have manual engines
Perfect
HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE
So cool
this is going to be in gta 6
I played with that in San Andreas
That’s the point of light electric car plus cool - not some 5k to 10k monstrum that will take 20+hours to charge.
Room-a-zoom-zoom!
Gonna have a hard time selling them at 75k. 125k if you want an early build.
I guess I missed where it's street legal plans were discussed?
👌👌
This gives me “19-2000” vibes
We ain't friends no more, haha!
PRICE ??
It’s none of our business for 18 months
$635..
Seats without headrests have been illegal since 1968.
My 86 F350 Ford Crew Cab does not have headrests and never did. I bought it brand new.
No headrest to prevent whiplash in a crash? An unsafe car.
It's not a car. That's why it doesn't have a headrest 🤦
And only for 100K each.
But can taken it on a golf course
Oh fk yeah bud!
I guess if you say Steve McQueen enough you can bet consumers will buy it.
Sir I’m not sure exactly what you’re selling but I’ll take one.
I'm going to guess, as the creator said in another vid, not cheap, but not expensive, this model right there, $75k.
Holy crap, I just looked it up... $74,000. I was so close.
Siapa yg kesini gara2 lihat film warkop DKI Maju kena mundur kena. 😅
So much for personal space, half this damn video the host was leaning on and touching the vehicle.
First off, why no headrests? Whiplash is inevitable...especially duning! Also, ergonomic seats are a priority with variable lumbar support for an all day romp...This should be a standard safety item, not a custom feature!
It's a modern electric take on a 60s era buggy so yes, no headrests. Get a neck brace ;)
@@adventurecraig If Biden were to be given one, his security detail would modify the dune buggy to be sure his neck stays erect...laws changed to avoid this issue!
Its made for city hipsters, not beach bums.
You didn’t have an original Manx I’m taking. I would hate it if they had that.
Death Trap.... half seats, even a 5 mph hit in the rear could snap your neck.
Stay inside and run to your Mommy Little Mike
Negative !
Way to kill an iconic brand. A car the average person could pick up and have fun has now become a car only the rich can really afford.
Not REAL chrome. “Chrome” plastic wrapping that scratches easily and looks cheap. Chrome needs to die off with the baby boomers. It’s cheap and tacky especially whenever it’s competing with matte black plastic trim. Earth elements will tear this external chrome wrap to shreds.
Electric? 🤮
