Fernandes are not lower end. The Japanese love tiers, even more than Americans, and the while MIJ Fernandes did have tiers to please the Japanese market what they did for the US marker was just load their guitars with excellent features and parts. The quality is remarkable- what one should expect from MIJ guitars. They didn't own a factory actually from my understanding- they contracted work with the other Japanese Gakkis.
