Thermalright isn't Done Yet - Peerless Assassin 140 & More

  • The Thermalright air cooling lineup is actually expanding with the Peerless Assassin 140, Royal Knight 120, Royal Preytor Ultra and more. Some of these could (technically) beat the Noctua D15 G2 based on Thermalright's own competitive analysis numbers.

I like how they forced the market to compete with their pricing. Sucks that tariffs eat away from it's crazy affordability. In a larger market like EVs, Thermalright I feel would be treated like BYD. The only difference is car manufacturers have convince government it's a threat to compete with such low prices and would destroy the industry otherwise. As a result there is a 100% tariff on these EVs. Funny how money is first over the claims of helping the environment.

The only way I'm getting an AIO is if I am going to overclock, and in that case I'm getting a 420mm. I really don't understand the point of the 360mm and smaller AIOs aside from unique layout challenges that prevent large air coolers. AIOs have way higher cost and lower reliability than air coolers, so if I'm going to bother with those annoyances then I want the best possible performance.

I try to support and buy as many thermalright products as I can, they are the most consumer friendly pc builder company on earth, they make premium products at super low prices, we need to keep buying their stuff. Their NVME heatsinks are awesome too, HR-09 pro and HR-10 pro are awesome, better than any motherboard or manufacturer heatsink. I also use the Phantom Spirit 120 Evo and a bunch of their case fans. Im sure Noctua is 3-5% better, but really not worth the 2-3x in prices. Buy thermalright and buy them often to show them we appreciate their pricing.

I'm a Thermalright's fan and customer for life. I love my Thermalright PS120SE ARGB. It's selling for 35 bucks right now. Unbelievable! Keeping my 7800X3D nice and cool.

Thermalright dominates the air cooling market and it's hard to beat given their price.
I do feel for your average PC builder a few degrees aren't going to make a difference and the choice between many of these models will just come down to is it on sale or available in your market and if it looks good in your build.
Pretty much why I took an RGB white peerless assassin 120 SE over a black phantom spirit 120 EVO.

Dang man....that cooler with a simple LCD screen is nice. If you can put that into one of the dual fan coolers that would be awesome.
    Reallly awaiting the test results.

Wait, you're telling me Thermalright was pulling off those performance numbers WITHOUT soldered heat pipes?
Pure sorcery, especially on the Phantom Spirit. I'd love to see them with a vapor chamber base.

"...for under $45"..while the on screen graphic says "> $45" lol. No big deal but just thought it was funny and likely a reflection of how much hard work yall have to do for these shows to keep up and release videos. Much appreciated

I recently tried to get a Frost Spirit 140 only to find it had all disappeared off the typical vendors over night and the response from thermalright was along the lines of "we already have too many similar product so we're getting rid of it". I now see it because they are replacing it with the Peerless Assassin 140.

Supposedly they Commander isn't being replaced by the Phantom Spirit 140. The 140 will be for more modern CPUs due to its more compact base while the Commander, with its larger base will continue being an optimal solution for older processors.
