After the problem/reaction of the Crusades, surely the Pope and-or state wanted no division in religion, and hence persecuted others. One result was stability, but even some dictator can get stability. Maybe the Crusades saved Christianity till the reformation and concept of increased choice and understanding.
Voltaire was a scoundrel as he also supported bloody regime of Catherine the greateim Russia and denouncing Poland ad a backwards democratic state which needed to be crushed

I am French and I think my country is even more advanced in the fall... but it is time to wake up, time to make the job, time to spend our energy doing apologetic and polemic against evil ideologies ! When I see people like Bob doing the job I know we can manage and win this spiritual warfare, we just need more people to join in and do the job with pride... for God's sake🙏

Pray that the Lord of the harvest will raise up more warrior-laborers like those fighting for the gospel by refuting Islam everywhere in private and public locations, in secrecy, on social media (and in more open places like London’s Speakers Corner). Pray that He raise up more warrior laborers within the camp of Islam, i.e. the local Christians from the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia. Pray that the laborers gather the harvest from the lands of Islam of those who’re ripe. Just like those who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem with one hand while holding a weapon with the other during Nehemiah’s time, may the children of the kingdom of Christ Jesus be brave and bold and ensure that their full armor of God is worn well and comfortable and flexible and also learn to continue to wield their weapons of war well, and may the Holy Spirit send more of His people to the extremely hard field called Islam.
