Thanks for the update on your build Ian. Figures can be difficult to paint at this scale, but don’t worry with all the extras you’ve put in the cockpit people won’t notice the figures (which look great to me). I am looking forward to seeing more of this build.
Thanks Ken, much appreciated!
After school catch up session.
Indeed, I needed it was really falling behind.
Hey Sir. Where did you get those drill bits? Those would be great for some of my Tamiya projects. That is because I have to drill a lot of holes. Really nice build so far. Take Care sir
Thank you and I got the Mr hobby hand drills from usa gundam store
@@PitstainHobbies Ok thank you sir. I will order some very soon.
I'm certain that if this kit was a big seller (and if theStar Wars kit sales overall hadn't run out of steam), we could have seen an ESB version. in which case, there would have been a lighting kit for those mandibles as well as different greeblies for the sidewalls. What you see there is a forward-thinking "just in case" bit of tooling. It wasn't meant to be. I had asked the Bandai rep myself to please release a non-PG version of this kit for those of us who prefer to light models on our own. Then they came out with it, but it did not come with waterslide decals, which only pissed people off. All they had to do was just release the kit without the lighting kit and they could have sold more, but no... That'd be too difficult. Meanwhile, with Disney running the franchise into the mud to appeal to a small minority of people who don't even care about it to begin with, this reflected in sales decline.
Those are some excellent points you made there particularly the potential ESB version, oddly every time the release a new production run of these they sell out pretty fast. Shame what Disney has done to the franchise really, but I will just keep enjoying the original trilogy.
@@PitstainHobbies I hear you! Actually, I am looking forward to Adywan's edit of ROTJ. He did such a fantastic job with ANH and ESB and puts Lucasfilm to shame!
@stevethefishdotnet is that the same person behind 4k77?
@@PitstainHobbies No, I think you are thinking of Harmy and his Despecialized Editions. He managed to recreate the original theatrical releases because Lucasfilm couldn't be bothered and lied about the originals being destroyed. Adywan did the Revisited versions, in which he restored scenes as they ought to have been (Han shooting Greedo before Greedo could fire, getting rid of the annoying Jabba scene from Mos Eisley, etc) and adding special effects as they should have been done (showing Han and Luke returning fire at the TIE Fighters from the Falcon's turrets in the exterior shots, giving the Battle of Yavin greater scale with the sense of 30 ships engaged with TIE Fighters at once, etc). Adywan did a far better job with updating the visuals than Lucas and his crew could do.
@stevethefishdotnet ahh ok I did see a sneak peak of that version, as usual nowadays the fans are doing the best work.
