    Amazing, amazing, amazing!!
    Been hoping and waiting for so long for you to build this kit!
    Loved the Space 1999 Eagle build that you made, a perfect step by step for me to build my own.
    The millennium Falcon is in my stash, just don't tell the Mrs. what it costs, mind boggling😬 but worth every penny!!!
    looking forward to your progression.
    Jas.

    Don’t worry: no cods were dropped by Bandai during the making of this kit. It’s not a mixture of ANH and ESB features, apart from the cockpit, which includes the extension that was added for ESB. The blast mark on the underside was present on the ANH version. The bits that look like they came from the old Airfix pontoon bridge are exactly that, and you'll find the bridge deck at the bottom of one of the equipment bays as well. As an old Falconologist, I love this kit. It’s absolutely done right. Bandai even got hold of the original kit parts that were used as greeblies, scanned them and reduced them to kit scale for complete accuracy.

    • @gurufoxx
      @gurufoxx  4 года назад

      Oooh. I just had a flashback to my youth and I am wondering if the inner mandible wall that I pointed out is in fact the base plate from that bridge kit. I seem to recall that had the two strips down the middle and a sort of checker-plate pattern. But then that memory is 40 years old :)

    • @grimjimc
      @grimjimc 4 года назад

      Modelmaking Guru Yup, that is exactly what that is. Look out also for the lunar module from the old Airfix Saturn V kit.

    Sorry for the weird question but as you mentioned somewhere at 3:00 min this kit doesnt need basically any glue. So this means it all fits and stays on its place?

    • @gurufoxx
      @gurufoxx  21 день назад +1

      Yep, Bandai make predominantly push-fit kits (like Gunpla, for example). They are masters of the art and no-one is anywhere near as good at it as they are. You can build this model with glue like a traditional kit if you wish, but you really don't need to.

      They did make a tiny number yeeeeeears ago, I think the 1701-A and the Reliant, but they were pre-painted. But a proper, modern small-scale Bandai Reliant would be proper trouser tent time.
