I think you're right, CF barrels do seem louder. the aluminum back on my shaft FL seems to help with this but its still noticeably louder when compared to my aluminum barrels.
The loudest guns I've ever heard was the old custom 98's that Tippmann effect used to use in the mid-2000's. You could always tell when they were playing, even from 3 fields away.
For knee pads I am rocking some home depo flooring knee pads very thick and stay in place..ish, tho I am a bigger guy 300+, 6'8. not a lot of paintball stuff is made for me even at the largest sizes. So I repurpose gear all the time(i am using ace knee pads for elbows atm)
Great stuff as usual, but tell the people how it really should be done! You should always buy knee pads with lightweight paintball pants. Never a heavy, padded paintball pant.
I have those same pants and I weigh maybe 125 but I still use knee pads. I would just rather have the extra padding. I love going down on a knee and now feeling anything at all. Yes the pants do have some padding but it's just better in my opinion to wear knee pads too.
How can someone get connected with a tournament team? I checked PBNation forums and they seem dead on the "free agent" tab. So should I just go play and meet people or is there a hidden website for new tournament players? Thanks -Frank
don't forget the hammer7 great way to see if you like pump/magfed/first strike Plus the base color is super cheap on the big paintball online store. $80 is a steal to try pump with this nice nelson base pump.
Old video but I couldn't agree more with the barrel weight reducing kick. My old one piece stainless steel Boomstick weighs a lot. Add that to the weight of my old autococker and I am doing arm curls running around with it. But there is no movement at all outside of my own purposeful aim adjustment. And the back block, of course 😆
Old video but still a great one. I’m not a big guy and I’m the same way I could not imagine playing without knee pads lol. Pretty much always on my knees playing snake 😂
Ceramic asswell but it depends on the polishing process some companys can polish them to the nano meter then anodize the remaining grains out to smoother than silicon. Lapco for example uses honing processe to aerospace/medical standards so there is basically zero drag
Hi PBRML - really love the product reviews. Explain everything really well: not super nerdy level of detail, but enough so i understand why you reached your opinion. Was wondering if you'd every think about doing a play by play video of a tournament game? Show why some of the best guys in the world are the best. Some examples of some common things in tournaments, but done really well, even using the John Madden-esque white marker on screen. Not sure if this is even possible, but thought i'd ask as i want to learn and think you'd be good at explaining/teaching.
Hi i got a question that im hopping to get an answer on. I bought a used DM7 (yeh ik its an old gun) with it came a 68/4500 stako tank that has been expired since 2012. It has a regulator on it. Im short on cash and im about to purchase a 48/3000 tank. Am i still able to use my old regulator that is on my stako tank or must i buy a new 3000psi regulator?
I have a question...I have a Apex 2 barrel on a tippmann alpha black and it seems to wobble when I screw it on all the way and when I had the stock barrel it still wobbled. Is there any way to stop the wobbling cuz it kinda gets annoying....
99% of high end guns have an Oring on the threads of the barrel. I would Imagine the Tippman does as well. If it does, try just putting a bigger oring on it. If it doesnt already have one, try putting something on the threads. The wobble is fixed when the threads lock 100% so maybe just A TINY BIT of BLUE loctite. Just enough to where the threads have something to hold on to.
I just bought a deadly winds barrel and freak inserts for my etha 2, and it doesn't seem any more accurate than my stock barrel. what would be the standard footage before there would normally be a drop off? meaning how far out can you typically just aim straight before you need to raise the gun? I feel like mine drops fairly quickly...
Evo yep. bore matching was the only reason I bought it, because the etha 2 was already really quiet. I did think that bore matched paint would shoot tighter than my stock barrel, but I'm just a newb, so I could be wrong.
I'm my opinion, when it comes down to the PE fl barrel, the insert is just bigger. Which does help out with the accuracy. But really when it just comes down to it. The carbon fiber barrel looks freaking awesome. But. That's just my opinion. I have no problem with the aluminum barrel, the bore length is short, but you can do more with it.
So painball ruined my life i was wondering if the Etek 3 compares to an Etek 5 besides the Lv1 comparison and i know its better then an Etek 4 that thing is a cannon, but i was thinking of picking up an Etek 3 so what do u think?
If you are familiar with the Etek 4, the Etek 3 is nearly the same thing. For the most part the Etek 1-4 were the same gun, the Etek 5 is much better. The Etek 5 is noticeably quieter, kicks less and a easier on paint. They really are a lot better. Normally with paintball guns we see slight improvements between models, but the Etek 4 to 5 is a big jump forward.
I might buy the axe pro carbon fiber edition from a friend, it has carbon chipping from wear and tear , should I be concerned ? If so , what should I worry about ?
#PBQT What is your opinion on composite? Because I️ have been looking at the Gtek as an upgrade but a lot of videos are saying bad things about it because it has composite parts.
people who complain about composite usually know absolute nothing about it. The GRN used in the gtek and other paintball markers is very strong and very durable, and I've never heard of someone bending or snapping a GRN/composite frame. The only downside is that it doesn't feel as finished as aluminum and it doesn't look as nice
Got the Freak XL Carbon..... waste of money. It’s chipped inside the barrel in two different places now after about 2 months. I wish I would’ve watched your vid earlier, lol
Also I have had Shaft FL, Deadlywinds, Freaks, etc etc. I think currently the best option would be the freak XL in aluminum, or the shaft 5 and boost kit
Paintball Ruined My Life lighter barrel = more accurately because you aren't working as hard to hold the front of the gun/marker up. Therefore the sight picture is more consistent resulting in better accuracy
Paintball Ruined My Life paintball markers, especially speedball markers don't have any felt recoil. Yes there is momentum moving in both directions but usually the force of the bolt and air mitigate the recoil almost completely. I agree metal is better. But that's because, After having a 13ci pop its top right into my sholder, I don't trust composite tanks or guerrilla tanks.
Useless. Too heavy for nothing added, plastic is perfectly strong for a shell....however a carbon fiber shell would be very useful...light and more durable!
***** true ...truthfully I hate the spire from a BAD experience haha, but just wait till technology becomes cheaper. I wouldn't be suprise if carbon fiber shells were the norm!
Another thing to keep in mind, aluminum isn't used for loaders bevause the loader is a very low point of stress in the gun, but if it was aluminium it would act like a soda can, it would be bent and misformed extremely easily and everyone's loaders would be bent and misshaped, haha. Plastic is much better at retaining it's shape, especially if it were to be hit
***** haha yeah I haven't tried the spire 3 but I'm willing to give it a shot! And nope, my original spire I had for a year before I traded it for a rotor which I still use today. The spire broke 3 times and had to be shipped back 3 times . First was the spire drive, it kept shaking, the second time was the on/off switch was bent and the tray couldn't be removed, and the third time the plastic on thr speed feed broke off and the tray wiggled out of place! Evrr since I got the rotor I've nevrr had a problem! I also prefer how cheaper the rotor speep feeds and overall loader and color kits are:) and truthfully I woukdnt mind, I LOVE the Carbon fiber look!
***** oh and not to mention, the rotor is an INCREDIBLE amount quiet!! The spire pulsed constantly even when there was paint! I prefer the mechanical feel of the rotor, no computer chips! The batteries last forever and the thing is bulletproof reliable. I mean HELL the reliability test of the spire didn't even have a simple drop test! It'd definitely fail at it
I don't usually comment on videos, but I'm an avid pumper and I feel like you ignored non-cocker based pumps. Phantoms are cheap, especially used, modular, and shoot great. Also the Sterling is an amazing shooter (way better than any cocker platform) and can be had for ~$350 new from patriot precision paintball in Texas.
The phantom is 30 years running now. You can go online and order a new one, or the parts to build one, direct from Mike at CCI. Can't get any easier than that!
actually CF barrel usually have aluminum or stainless steel incerts... Sooo same thing... the only barrel i can really say is more accurate is the Dye Cf boomstik but its not a game changer if you suck playing lol
MIKE EVANS GUTIERREZ CASAÑAS the CF is actually stainless steel, the Carbon fiber is just the wrap around the barrel lol, you should look into the new parabolic barrel, I actually like them more than my CF boomstick
The only piece of equipment that's actually worth buying because of "carbon fiber" build is a compressed air tank. Having an aluminum or steel tank definitely adds a few pounds to your load out overall, and if you're trying to dominate in speedball you should switch. Otherwise, carbon fiber barrels are flashy yet useless in regards to actual function improvements.
False: building a cocker from pieces is MUCH more expensive than buying a complete one, even with identical parts. This is why people literally make a living parting complete cockers out on ebay
lol I love the CookieMonster/Batman voice "paintball question time" introduction.
Keep up the great work, man! Best PB channel on RUclips right now.
Marbo40 K o think it is
I think you're right, CF barrels do seem louder. the aluminum back on my shaft FL seems to help with this but its still noticeably louder when compared to my aluminum barrels.
Yep always been my experience as well
Paintball Ruined My Life you want to know what's loud...??? A Sly barrel in a EGO 09... damnnn that's like a machine gun...!!!!
The loudest guns I've ever heard was the old custom 98's that Tippmann effect used to use in the mid-2000's. You could always tell when they were playing, even from 3 fields away.
Question: How does a paintball sanctioning body (NXL, Millennium) come up with a field layout? Is there a comitee? Is it one guy?
Will the Deadly winds barrel fits in the HK Sabr marker
For knee pads I am rocking some home depo flooring knee pads very thick and stay in place..ish, tho I am a bigger guy 300+, 6'8. not a lot of paintball stuff is made for me even at the largest sizes. So I repurpose gear all the time(i am using ace knee pads for elbows atm)

I chewed through the inside of two of my cf tips because I ran my exalt swabs thru them too many times. So therefore I I gave up on cf.
What can you do in order for it not to chew threw the inside of the carbon fiber tip
For what it's worth, Deadlywind will do up to 6 rows of 20 ports on their barrels on request. I don't think you need more porting than that ;)
KarlEller interesting. You think theyll port a 8inch? Do I contact the customer service?
Boost Mobile You'd need to email them, but they do all sorts of weird and wonderful custom work, so it's not outside the realms of possibility.
Huh, was not aware of that 👏
How can someone get connected with a tournament team? I checked PBNation forums and they seem dead on the "free agent" tab. So should I just go play and meet people or is there a hidden website for new tournament players? Thanks -Frank
Frank Gossett location?

Why not a CCM pump? I don’t play pump personally but are they not good?
Old video but I couldn't agree more with the barrel weight reducing kick. My old one piece stainless steel Boomstick weighs a lot. It's called swing weight! An OZ of weight savings on a 14 in. barrel feels like 4 times that. Same goes for weight savings on car wheels and tires
You are thinking of unsprung mass regarding vehicles
Ceramic asswell but it depends on the polishing process some companys can polish them to the nano meter then anodize the remaining grains out to smoother than silicon. Lapco for example uses honing processe to aerospace/medical standards so there is basically zero drag

Thanks! Yep, well at least though about it. I have reached out to the NXL to see if I can use some there footage of the best cast to do this.
if you want to try pump. I would try a hammer 7 and see if you like it.
Very true! I dont know why but always forget about the Hammer.
Is it possible for you to do a video of a manually installed oled screen on a gtek?
I have a no name cf barrel that takes 2db off every marker i put it on...yes ive tested it with a db meter.
Old paintball guns had freaking brass barrels. Hell, they were almost entirely brass! And brass is not cheap by any means.
I'm coming back into the sport after having left around 2007. What did I miss? What do I need to know before my first trip out this weekend?
What did you miss the last 10 years!? A lot. Nothing just go have fun!
Hey brad, I have $100 right now and I need a new hopper. Should I get the ltr or the z2 or should I save up for a better ome
Matthew Laseter LTR

Can you compare the smart parts xl barrel kit (the carbon fiber kit) VS the smart parts XL kit with the carbon fiber tip. They're both $250 for kits.
I probably wont. There isn't much of a differences, just weight and the aluminum back version back might be 2% quieter (maybe).
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife which do you prefer? The XL carbon fiber freak barrel kit or the XL metal barrel kit?
I like the metal. Really no reason, I just prefer the feel on the aluminum.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife thanks
quick question: What is MOSair? The new DYE M2s all say MOSair but I'm not entirely sure what it is
The MOSair is the new software that comes on the M2, it is designed to work with the eVoke system.

You should be able to use the Stako reg, the only difference with the 4500psi and 3000psi regulators is really the 7.5k and 5k burst disc.

What's better an electric feeder or a normal one in a game
Probably electric

Nope. I'm not a huge fan of Dangerous Power.
Do you have a pbrml in your store I didn't see one so I just bought a different one?
I meant pbrml head ban
Can you tell me if the koas 2 is good, and the good things about it.

what barrel kit would work for empire syx
Many. Any barrel with Autococker threads will work.
what would be next level up from kp3/sniper?
Next would be a ccm
Yeah probably CCM or MVP
