My hubby did this for an awesome couple right before retirement. He has held almost
every position in his aviation career. Graduated from the AF Academy. Flew F-15’s and retired as Lt. Colonel after 20 years. Became Captain for large commercial airline and aged out. He then did this as a favor to a friend who was in need of a co pilot. He did this for two years and had lots of fun. Flew the family or the husband and his business associates all over the world. I would meet him at various places in the world and also had a great time. They also had a wonderful flight attendant. My hubby spent lots of time preparing for flights and safety was always “number one.”

Decades ago I flew corporate for Hewlett-Packard. I loved it! I was single and loved the idea I couldn’t make very many plans to be places I really did not want to be in the first place. Weddings, funerals, graduations, that kind of stuff. Never had, nor wanted a close knit family structure. Forty years later, I still don’t…. have or want. Just my personality.

I can’t agree with this statement.Very often the plane is booked by several middle class families. They share the cost of flight and it doesn’t hurt their pockets too much

In real life this is not as lovely as it’s portrayed here! After 45 years driving planes the ‘fun’ factor left a long time ago!

I partly agree; this job is for younger people. As we get older, that sharp perception of the environment and vividness of experiences tends to fade. The excitement of flights to islands and foreign countries isn’t quite the same as it used to be. Now, we seek a more stable, peaceful life.
