Let me take you along to Singapore Changi Airport (WSSS), the largest airport of Southeast Asia! Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Marina Bay, Sentosa Island, Lau Pa Sat Market, Southern Ridges, Botanical Gardens, Orchard Road, Clarke Quay, Little India are just a few reasons to visit Singapore. A cockpit view approach and landing in a Boeing 777-300 on runway 20R in Singapore Changi Airport, located in Southeast Asia. The video shows what it's like to fly a Standard Terminal Arrival Route/Standard Arrival Route (STAR) in a Boeing 777-300 into Singapore. Interesting facts, approach landing charts and actual call-outs and Boeing procedures were added to provide a sense of everything that is going on inside the cockpit during approach, landing and taxi. Let me know what you think guys, because believe it or not, your suggestions may actually be present in my next video! Did you know Singapore is one of the safest, cleanest and greenest cities in the entire world? Singapore has one the most amount of cameras per square mile and some interesting laws! For example, you will get fined for not flushing the toilet, for spitting or throwing anything on the ground, smoking in most public areas, selling chewing gum and jay walking. Have you been to Singapore or somewhere else in Asia? Let me know :) - Go to saily.com/dutchpilotgirl and use the code DUTCHPILOTGIRL to get an exclusive 15% off your first purchase.

Thanks for the memories Dutch Pilot Girl. I’m was an Inflight Manager with SQ after flying for 42 years retiring in 2020 just as Covid started in our part of the world. I remember the times before 9 11 when cabin crew were allowed to be seated in the cockpit jump seat for takeoff and landing and coming home to Singapore was always a thrill and I never got tired of it. In the early 2000a I worked as a consultant to the airport authority there on certain design issues and hubbed from there while doing work in Thailand, Indonesia, and East Timor. It was always a joy to return to Singapore from those places because everything just worked. Their dedication to cleanliness and order is legendary and well-founded. At that time the airport employed over a hundred women whose only job was to clean and water all of the plants in the terminals.

Changi airport was never that big and was just for military. I was based at Tengah and the main airport was Paya Lebar..... (there were a few of us used to go aircraft spotting there - good days!) to see you bring in a triple 7 into there was a joy to watch. When we stayed on Sentosa recently we were told that the wi-fi/internet speed there is the fastest in the world. I would love to have seen this and your eventual take off live.... I used to fly to SIN a lot on business and I agree it is (was anyway) one of the nicest and cleanest places to visit and stay. I remember seeing the big signs about chewing gum on the taxi ride from Changi to the city - I think they were threatening a SID 300 fine if you were caught chewing it - I may have that wrong - but we should adopt that rule in Europe ! I stayed on Sentosa island whenever I could. Thanks for bringing back some good memories Michele.

It's not law, more likely a taxi company house rule.
Chewing gum isn't actually illegal, just the import of it regardless of how small scale, though if it's only a small can of it they would just confiscate it for disposal.

Although close to the TDZ ( 1000 m ) from threshold and within the limits, it was almost 700m away from touch down point. For the safe landing the aim of the game is TDP. Few reasons could be for such mistake, premature flare ( above 30’ RA ) , slow retarding the throttles (AT was disengaged) , higher speed than Vref + 5, and pilot looking too far away from TDP. Welcome to Singapore. This landing is also known as the Tekong Approach to the locals. There are two other approaches to Changi, the Batam approach and the City approach.
The City approach is the best as if one is seated on the LHS of the aircraft, it is possible to see downtown Singapore (e.g. Marina Bay Sands, the CBD, Raffles City) prior to landing.
Spot on with regards to the introduction of the local sights. The heartlands have more to offer, in terms of local cuisine.
Have flown on the AMS-SIN sector twice with KLM on the board the B777, in 2012 and 2013 myself for the annual trip home for Christmas from the UK.

Very nice! One thing I've come to realise is that ATC have an especially difficult job sequencing arrivals when there's bad weather around, which is almost always the case in the tropics with CBs building constantly. And that means even as much as the arrival (director) controller tries to space aircraft as closely as possible the sequence gets a bit messed up with aircraft requesting weather deviations. That probably plays a part in explaining why many aircraft have to enter multiple holds when arriving during the peak arrival period, even though they don't seem to be applying minimum separation.

Just found this for the first time. Great video. So different and informative for 'ordinary' people like myself. I can take in all the information in my own time of the flight without all the chatter which usually goes on with these fast moving videos. Great to have all the information of the country you are visiting. Excellent promo without being over the top.
    Thank you.
PS Obviously got the woman's touch. Practical, to the point, without all the ego.!! (I know it's 'sexist' but I'm 77 and allowed 😍

If you fly to Australia stop over at Singapore for a few days. It's an amazing friendly and safe place to visit. Forget Raffles, go to the Atlas Bar for High Tea, simply the best.

Love this new format, that there is no music and the focus is on the full view and instruments. I think with voice overs it may be even better, to not have to read the text but keep focusing on the view and be able to listen. Keep up the great work and the amazing content!
