This prefab house also has several different options and is built as a hud manufactured home! The manufacturer for this house is Fairmont Homes. The model for this home is the “Gershwin.” This home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and has roughly 1,165 square foot. Let me know what you think about the video! We have seen the mobile home business come such a long way. In the old days most people referred to mobile homes as a trailer house. However some of the manufactured homes we carry are far from “trailer houses.”

Chance, These front-end kitchen designs were the norm for the 70's and earlier. Early to mid 80sis when the "middle kitchen" and split bedroom floor plans started to become popular and then became the norm.
Remember the horrendous middle kitchens? Between dishes, cookware, there was hardly any room for a weeks worth of groceries.
I like the kitchen. But id get rid of the built in table and put a regular dining set.

This should be a popular option for many budget minded buyers. It has all the bases covered. As your budget allows, just add a large enclosed patio/sunroom and it would be an excellent family home.

I would make the 2 smaller bedrooms into one spacious bedroom.
Thank you. I am a happy single woman. Therefore, I don't have the money to buy a home. I have accepted the mobile option but damn if I can't find a place with the large master bed with a large TUB & walk-in shower; I only want another HALF BATH and a room that, for me, would be my office. Or a craft/art area. Some women may want a second room just for their clothes. But stop with the 3 bed 2 bath layout. Do like the sunny window in kitchen! A lot.
For a single wide, this is an excellent kitchen! The big cupboard oposite the island looks like it could hold a years supply of food. I also appears to have a good amount of drawers and cupboards. When I see something like this it reminds me of the single wides from way back that had barely anything in the kitchen.

Unless you can get out of the wheelchair to walk, with a cane or walker, I think you would find you couldn't get around comfortably in any room except the Living Room and Kitchen area in this house!! Hallway is very narrow, as well as the other rooms, especially once you get any furniture in them. You might be able to get around in the Master Suite, but it looks questionable to me in the Bathroom - at least with a wheelchair, but maybe doable with a cane or walker. I know because I use a wheelchair at times, but can walk with a cane or walker 90% of the time - as long as I don't have to stand or walk for long periods. So, although I like some of these single-wides and even say what I'd change on them, most of them wouldn't work for us, mostly because of my wheelchair/walker/cane use. But also because any place, whatever the size to me, it is a deal breaker for me if there's no room for Grandma's China Cabinet, which this one doesn't have. But it wouldn't work for me because of the same reasons I gave you as well. But we can dream! And the price is not bad at all.
Very basic but very nice this is the perfect starter home. The biggest change I would make is drywall instead of the panels. Thanks Chance

I love this singlewide. I like the what I call wall to wall space. Where there is not alot of extra built in shelves and stuff. You have more room to put your own stuff. It's simple but beautiful and very unique..Another great tour Chance. You show some beautiful homes but I really like the more simple ones. ❤❤

Oh wow, I really like this one. I'd get rid of the built in table, but I LOVE that there isn't a microwave above the cooktop! Also, the living room feels spacious for being such a small space. Also the two bathrooms is perfect.
I would make this a two bedroom with a larger closet, larger utility area and larger bathrooms! The rest of the home is nice!
Absolutely love the outside and the inside. A plus would be a 2 bed and real wood cabinets and finished drywall..I know that would raise the price but a home like this deserves nice finishings..If they would remove that table/ attached to wall island a nice dining room table and a china press would look great..Thanks for posting this single wide
man this takes me back i grew up in a trailer in the 90s exact same lay out kitchen at back then living long hall way my bed room first then my bros then laundry at end of hall thrn bath and mom at the end only diffrance only a single bath in ours
Yes. The 70 and 80 had this layout. The kitchen on the end love it
I like the walk in shower and the window in the main bathroom. Kitchen windows are beautiful.
Again, singlewides are my thing. The basic floor plan is great. Details like siding, carpet and wood shelving can be adjusted along with taped and textured walls. It's the overall floor plan that counts.
I'm not generally a fan of single wides, but if I was going to opt for one, I really like it when the kitchen/living room is on one end of the home and everything else stretches down the length of the home. This one is pretty cool.
Love this house. Only drawback is no coat/ guest closet. We who live in colder climates need a place to store coats! A "utility" closet would be nice too. Someplace to store all your cleaning supplies, sweepers, etc.
I love a front kitchen the best.

The first manufactured home I bought was a 12 x 60 with the kitchen/dining and living room on one end. 1977 $7000.
Always liked front kitchens. I like how the laundry/bath are arranged.
I love this home! I would remove the built in table in the kitchen and use my own. Love that the utility room is closed off, not in the hallway. Perfect! Hope you and yours are well!

I like singles wides I live in a 14x55 split2/2. Singe wides were popular before double and triple wides. Nothing new. This trailer is nicely laid out.

This reminds me of the front kitchens from the 70’s. Though this on is modern and cozy. It’s a nice single section with a spacious primary bedroom.

This plan will be excellent for all the places that I plan to put it on my property. The only thing I don't like is the shower in the master bath. I slide off those seats and there is not enough room for a shower chair.

Great price. I like the double sink in the kitchen. There is room for a small dining room table. I like the one piece shower in the master bath. The accent wall in the master bedroom does make it look warm and inviting.

Love the kitchen at the end of trailer. I suggest making the eating bar into another countertop with deep drawers beneath for pots n pans, with open cabinets above. Also put smart sidi g on exterior (vinyl siding is no good.)

Hello Chance! Well there are three No-no's nearly immediately for me! The first No-no, the really bad one, which is Always a Deal Breaker for me - there's no place to put Grandma's China Cabinet!! The second No-no is that you have to walk through the Utility Room to get to the Guest Bathroom! The third No-no is that the rooms are so narrow, hallway too, that if I had to use my wheelchair, I'm afraid the only places I could go are the Living Room and Kitchen area! For some reason, this house looks even more narrow to me than usual, even though it's probably not! I guess you could do away with the smallest Guest Bedroom and then redo the other rooms making them all a little bigger, but that probably wouldn't help with the hallway. But we can probably just find another single-wide that would work better, don't you think? Having to sometimes use my wheelchair is the big problem as you need room to turn one around as well as just to roll it around without hitting walls and furniture and stuff. I still like to say what I'd change if I could get the house - when there's Not a Deal Breaker like in this one (first No-no). Still a good video, Chance, and a nice house if I wasn't handicapped. I LOVE watching your tours I've grown up living in single and now double wide home my question is why are these manufacturers still going with that cheap wire racks in their closets and pantry they are horrible but I guess I answered my own question when I said it was chesp
Nice home for the size and tastefully decorated. I think I'd leave out the built-in media shelf and get a media console with an electric fireplace.
Finally, an actual single wide that is not cookie cutter and is sold in the Chicago area. I see a lot of your tours with the unique floor plans and think why don’t these dealers or parks sell the homes you tour.
Yes, there is a park that sells this model and has several in the park. Two different color siding, single color siding. However, they don’t have one with that awning over the front windows. The kitchen in the house was slightly upgraded. I think the regular range hood is in the models out here. There are white or darker wood cabinets, same island. In the models it is black or stainless steel appliances. It appears that the home you toured had an extra window in the hall. The bigest turn off in the models I’ve seen here are no recessed lights, just the same dull ceiling light fixtures which make this really nice model plain and dated. The kitchen is a nice size with more cabinets than I see in most single wides. Bathrooms with windows! Every single wide I’ve owned (3total) have had a window in the bathroom and each also had a skylight. My single family ranch doesn’t have a window and feels small.
My 1992 single wide I bought new had a front kitchen, not as nice as this one. You rarely see single wides these days with front kitchens.
Now, I’ve seen the two bedroom version of this house too. However, it appears the length is shorter. Yes, the second bedroom is a little larger, but the home itself is shorter length wise. The rest of the house is the same except the model here does not have the second window in the living room on the exterior wall that is the exterior wall in the hallway. Another think I like seeing above the shower or tub/shower is a vapor proof can light. Those area can be dark. Some manufacturers have these, some don’t. It might be an option. Lastly, at least in Illinois, it is rare to have a single wide with drywall. They are available and I was in one a few years ago. The reason for the lack of drywall in single wides is the cracks that can occur during transport. I hate batten strips and gypsum wall board myself. You can get around this. I had a professional painter come in and remove the strips, sand, tape and mud the panels the prime and paint them. It turned out beautiful and held up the 7 years we had the home. Some manufactured papered wall board is pathetic.
Pricing in my area is from $53,000 for the one two bedroom and various pricing up to $79,000. I’m not sure if this dealer in the park includes the central A/C or not. My first home was not included and had to be installed separately at owner cost. My last 2 homes the price included set-up, skirting, and A/C. The park with these models already has them on lots and skirted. Thanks for another great tour!

Pretty nice house for the price! Bedrooms are a bit small but the main bedroom was pretty spacious. I think for the kitchen, I would prefer to get rid of that little island and put a bigger one in. I need lots of counter space :) . Nice house tho Chance!
This has the same exterior door layout as my current single wide. This would be a great drop in replacement for the way my land is laid out!
7 ft. is a bit small for the width of the secondary bedrooms.
I guess if it's just for kids or a small single bed or even a Murphy bed, it might work out.

Great house for the price, nice floor plan, could use a bit more storage space. That floor is hideous, and then there's the walls. Since the price is so affordable, perhaps a completely dry walled home would be a good option.
That pretty nice and the price is right they can put those stand up shower in that one too huh
Nice home. What I would do different if possible is make that laundry area a big storage closet. Then make those 2 little bedrooms into one bigger bedroom. I would then take about few feet between that first bathroom in the hallway and the now bigger second bedroom to have a proper utility room with a stackable washer and dryer to save space. But that’s just me.

I should have looked closer at this one, I chose not to film it as I was running out of time. (not knowing I could have started filming at least a day sooner). I opened the door and saw the VOG and moved on. Thanks for showing this one. I wonder though if Fairmont can extend this by 3 or 4 feet to make the guest rooms bigger?
Hi Chance I like the kitchen setup and the sq ft of this house..But unfortunately vinyl siding isn't going to cut it anymore..I know it adds to the price but Hardie cement board siding is the way to go..Especially if you live in extreme weather areas or states..Vinyl just can't stand up to what's going on..Thanks great video..
For a single wide, this kitchen has a ton of pantry storage and drawers! Some double wides don't have that many drawers.

Love your channel. This model doesnt use real drywall. Its more like the old fashioned mobile home materials so not as durable. Some other manufacturers are using typical stick built materials

I kinda like but would love if it had Drywall and only 2 bedroom with a bigger second bath. Maybe have a stackable instead of side by side and have it in the bathroom. Thanks Chance! Is the other home beside it going to be showed, really hope so...
I wonder about the important stuff:
How much insulation in ceiling, in the walls? Is there adequate moisture barrier in exterior walls, or is it just fragile plastic film? How much overhang on the eves?That's the things that add cost.
