  • A quick recap of Mary and I being re-homed in a new Clayton Modular House. The first dirt was dug in March of 2021 and we moved in in July 2021. Not bad for a Pandemic construction project.
    This model house is the Heritage.

    Beautiful. Hopefully it’s ok inside. They have a lot of complaints about when stuff goes back during moving and construction they don’t fix it.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

    So if you need septic/well do you have to have this installed 1st..before the can build on your land?😮

      Great question. Yes you have to have that. At least we already had that on the property because we had a trailer we were living in.

    Nice presentation. Curious, where does the furnace and hot water heater go?

    • @hubbard1
      @hubbard1  5 месяцев назад +2

      There are closets built into the utility room that are used for the hot water heater and the furnace. We had them not include a hot water heater and installed a gas hot water heater in the utility room above the washing machine. So we have an extra closet.

      Above the hot water heater? Would that be a "tank-less" hot water heater? Thanks for the awesome info! @@hubbard1

      I'm in the process of buying a similar modular home so I can comment on this. Typically, transporting the house to the site and assembling it is included in the price of the home. So if your dealer says the home is $150K, all of that is usually included. What isn't typically included is preparing the site for the home.

    • @hubbard1
      @hubbard1  6 месяцев назад +2

      Also, it’s important to note that the site prep for this house cost us four times what they said it would. But that may be because of our rural location and how rocky the soil is in our area.

    • @janegoodwin1823
      @janegoodwin1823 5 месяцев назад

      Yes, We bought a $130,000 and the botton line was $669,000 . It was cheaply built. And had all kinds of things that needed to be fixed. I would NEVER recommend buying a Clayton home to anyone. They are not well built and getting things fixed in a timely manner is a fight for every inch.

      TOTALLY agree. Ours is cheaply built. And we had to pay almost $40,000 on top of the price for delivery, driveway, septic, assembly, terrible porches, a roof that leaked, uneven floors, had to have someone else repair the terrible driveway. And the state inspector made them come in and fix the grade and remove standing water under the house. DO NOT even consider buying one.
