I have a time-saving tip: Buy sheets with a stripe or directional pattern on them (I like damask stripe), and you won't have to spend five minutes wrestling with the sheets trying to figure out which end goes where when you're putting them back on after washing.
I saw somewhere that the tag to the fitted sheet always goes in the bottom right corner (if you're standing at the foot of the bed.) It works for all of mine.
Coming from the UK & watching lots of US shows & videos - it’s unbelievable to us to amount of families that use disposable plates, cups & cutlery everyday - what a huge waste of money & not to mention the tons of rubbish that will go into landfill from this (lazy) habit - we literally would only use disposable items for a party or BBQ - never ever just for everyday use. I’m a new subscriber & am loving binge watching your videos 🥰
A huge time-saver I adopted 10 years ago for our family of 6 was to only buy white towels for all of our bathrooms. No more making sure the right color went to the right bathroom. No more fading and biggest of all they all can be bleached. I buy the hotel quality white towels from Costco. Such a great deal.
I have one I learned yesterday! My roommate hangs a garbage bag in his closet so decluttering is immediate and not an hour over the weekend! This is such great advice!
I always "stay til the end." Its my favorite part! Your honesty is refreshing. Thanks for making all of us feel like normal human beings with your musings.
Best time saver I have found this year is to wrap my hair up in a silk scarf at night, yes I look like an old lady but come the morning I simply pull it off shake my head, give it a few minutes to settle and I am good to go, no more kinks and frizz!
Cas, I really appreciate it how you talk about adulting adults 🥰. I’m almost 40 and I still have these moments of “wow, now I feel more like an adult” 🤣🤣🤣
I have heard that it is a millennial thing that we feel somewhat awkward about "adulting". Likely because our world has changed so much, that being adults the way our parents and grandparents were adults, feels outdated, but we aren't quite sure what else to do. So we awkwardly play this old "costume drama" of 'adulting', while not really relating to it. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk 😉
@@SIC647 I'm a Gen X. My parents functioned in a totally different world. I had an older friend say you got a job online! Yes, it was so cool! They don't believe me. Lol
I am 40 and the one thing that makes me a full grown adult - FINALLY! - is that I am a caregiver for my parents. That is the one thing that makes it official. But, yes! I always looked at these tasks and thought, I am like, an adult now! haha!
Great video!! Good Great advice as usual! I still love you channel! #Priceless. Some of these things I've already implemented some things I'll start, something I can't control lol. Renter. Don't trust set it and forget AUTOPAY! I don't advice. So delegation, how do advice splitting up chores per age, know how, ect?
Excellent tips! I use so many of these. Another great one is choosing your outfits in advance so you're not flinging things around on the morning. A game-changer for me.
@@HowToGYST Yes, I follow you, Clutterbug and Minimal Mum, and sometimes one or two others, really helps me to get motivated House still needs a LOT of work!
My husband and I are retired. I have begun convincing my husband that we should start preparing a late lunch and eating leftovers for supper. Hopefully, this will be a time saver, money saver, and stress saver on deciding what to have to eat.
I'm a homeschool mom, so time-saving is a must! When i cook ground meat, i usually cook at least 10-15 lbs at a time. I freeze the cooked meat (by the pound) flat in ziploc bags, and it's so easy to throw into a meal!
Thanks. I have gotten so many tips from you Cas that I feel I should give something back beyond my views, likes and comments. Love, love, love your channel! Don't stop being you. You. Are. AWESOME!!
I can't get behind using pot liners or using disposable dishes at home to save a few minutes at when the amount of garbage piling up is so insane. I use reusable silicone pan liners for baking sheets, and if something gets stuck to a pot I just let it soak overnight Edit: Another massive time saver tfor me was to stop shopping "for fun." I used to go to the store to shop around when I was bored, and didn't really need anything. I spent a bunch of money I didn't have, on things I didn't need, and now had to find a place in my tiny apartment for all that stuff. Decreasing the amount of stuff I'm bringing into my house has been one of the biggest time savers. I don't have to shop for it, I don't have to store it, clean it, put it back where it's supposed to be or declutter it. Now I have a running list of things I think I might need soon, and only go shopping for things that I have thought about, carefully considered and decided, 'yes, I actually need this thing.'
Well said. Influencers advocating using disposable products to save time at the cost of the planet makes me cringe 😖 no disrespect to Cas - she’s great in general, but I wish influencers would be more environmentally conscious with their recommendations
I appreciate these “tips” can help when our mental health means we are just trying to get by, but our mental health won’t mean a thing when our grandkids are living on a planet we destroyed 😔 & this is coming from someone with a lot of mental health problems
I have three tips: I marked my blankets and bedspread with a marker to show where the top and bottom center mark is and where the top and bottom corner edges are. This saves me from walking around and around the bed trying to get them straight on the bed. They are straight immediately the first time. Because the top sheet is folded over the blanket, the marks at the top don't show, and because the bedspread is over the foot of the blanket the marks don't show. And because the quilt has a pattern, the little black dots I put at the head and foot don't show. This has been such a time saver! I also used the clear plastic boxes spinach, mushrooms, and cookies come in to help me organize my drawers! I love those cookie trays! Perfect for holding toothbrush and paste, deodorant, etc. Why spend more money when I have already paid for that container and brot it into my house? Try it! I also saved the cardboard tubes from paper towels and fold plastic bags into balls and stuff them into the tubes. I have two tubes in the car and pull out or blow out the plastic bags and hang them over the stick shift so I can put trash in there. Keeps my car clean! I also put those balled-up plastic bags in the foot of all my waste baskets and pull one out to use to line the waste basket as needed. The replacement is right there!
My mom suggested washing per family member a few months ago and it's made a HUGE difference to me. Revolutionary! I have always just washed everything together… I can't imagine spending all that time sorting laundry!
My fear with the cooker liners is their long term effect on health. When plastic is heated to such high temperatures, its composite chemicals may leach into the food. So you end up with health problems just to save a few minutes.
These could be for specific recipes or certain situations. Leftover food traces from when you scrubbed for half an hour and did your best but traces are still there can't be good for you, either. Do your homework and find what works for you. Overcooking/burning food is so bad for you, for example. Cas is a VERY busy human. I see why she wants to save time wherever possible.
Late to the conversation, but slow cookers are best used on a lower heat for longer. However I wouldn't like the plastic waste. I find if I put the Croc pot straight into soak ( once I have plated up) it is a breeze to clean.
I barely iron anymore: tip from my mum: if there are any shirts in my wash load, I set the spinning speed to low (400 rpm), take out the shirts that would normally require ironing, hand them up on hangers, and spin the rest of the laundry at 800 rpm. The shirts that are still quite wet when hung up, dry without wrinkles thanks to this trick.
I just stopped caring about being wrinkly. I hang everything up on hangers and they dry fine and I can hang them right up in the closet. I just embrace the creased linen look and basically only iron if I’m going to a wedding or when I’m sewing to get nice seams. I’m a pretty casual person and I wear hospital scrubs at work so it’s never a problem.
I’ve been decluttering to save time rummaging through drawers. It really does help. The pandemic is so stressful, so why not make my life more easy? Yes ma’am!
Hi, I don't think ive ever ever commented but watching from Bordeaux FRANCE and you are such a cheerleader! I am so in love with the idea of a behind the scenes, TRUE real how to edit videos, how to plan content with hubby and two ladies helping you!! That would be so good! MERCI
Thanks for the tips! I’m a stay at home and homeschooling mom of 3, soon to be 4. Curbside grocery pickup has saved my sanity and hours and hours of time dragging kids through the store. I also cook a whole, bulk package of meat at a time and freeze what I’m not using for that meal. Also, if I’m chopping a vegetable, I try to chop extra for meals I know I’ll be making later that week.
The problem with slow cooker liners, parchment paper, and paper plates is not that they are lazy, they are so wasteful! Why make more trash? They make silicone baking mats you can use instead of parchment paper. They are easy to clean and you don't have to scrub the pan. Now, do I never use these single-use items, no. For recipes I know are particularly stubborn to clean, I'll use a slow cooker liner. If I'm broiling, my silicone mats can't be used at that temperature, so I'll use parchment paper. Using these things every time you cook, or recommending people have a paper plate night once a week creates so much extra trash over time.
I butter my crock pot before I put the ingredients into it. Likewise, I butter my Pyrex pans before putting the food into them, too. Okay, you got me, I use margarine, not butter, I can't afford butter. Forgive the use of a term my grandmothers used and I never let go of. But food is SO much easier to wash off the crock or the pans that way! I don't have a dishwasher. So I fill the pans with hot soapy water and put them to the side; by the time I've washed the plates, cups/glasses, and silverware, the pans are ready to wash with half the effort. Yes, I love the ease of paper plates and plastic silverware, foil pans for food prep, oh boy!! But those are for when my kids all come home once a month for family dinner, so I can spend my time enjoying them instead of cleaning up. My way won't be right for everybody, but it is right for me 😊 If it helps you, so much the better.
I've been using instacart for two-plus years to shop for my groceries. I don't pick up a bunch of crap that's bad for me because I'm physically there in the store and maybe I'm hungry or depressed and I want to grab a bunch of chocolate. And I can be doing other things while the Shopper is shopping for my food. It's awesome sauce!
Especially your cleaning shortcuts have helped me immensely. Thank you for giving me permission to run the dishwasher daily, every when it's not full. As a former cheapskate, I needed to hear that this would make my life better, and it did!
And remember - If it makes you feel better or is helpful, you can always throw things in the dishwasher such as cotton hats that normally go through the laundry, toothbrushes, plastic bins and containers (Of course use caution if you’re trying to heat dry), And other things around the house that could use a quick rinse off with soap.
I am so happy to have found you about a week or 2 ago. You don’t know how much you’ve impacted me in this short time. I am already implementing what I’m learning from you. Thank you!
You were totally realistic about how many minutes you save…. Not like other YT videos that claim insane amounts of time . Thanks for always being real with us! Good luck house 🏡 hunting!
Great video. I think the meal planning binder not only saves more than 15 every day not staring at the fridge with no options. It saves so much frustration, anger and resentment everyday, feeling inadequate, hungry and a loser when kids are hungry and I have nothing prepared. What's that worth, a cajillion dollars,,,priceless!
These are great hacks! I even remember some of them from your older videos! However there are 2 that I won't do: voice command everything, and steaming clothes. I get better and faster results ironing than steaming, I can usually leave my ironing board set up in guest room, and it takes just as much time to plug in an iron (and set up the board) as it does to fill and set up a steamer. I am averse to devices that do voice command, simply because it means they are always listening. All it takes is the wrong people to be in power and suddenly your privacy is nonexistent. We still use smart plugs because they're great for scheduling things like Christmas lights.
Great tips! I was an early adopter of the Roomba. Yes, it was an investment but that same machine still works great after more than 10 years. I recently upgraded to a vacuum/mop and it's even better. I highly recommend upgrading to a robot mop.
I’ve had a Bissell Crosswave (a vac & mop) for 4 yrs for my hardwood floors. It’s wonderful & does a great job…..BUT….it has to be completely cleaned out. Hair, grass bits, etc are trapped in 7 different places. PLUS the whole thing has to be disassembled, cleaned out & filter has to dry in sunshine for 24 hours EACH TIME!!! ……..JUST SAYING……
I got the cheap Eufy robot and I love it. It just bounces around with no plan *but* I don't have to deal with wireless connectivity or the internet of things.
@@Lasairfiona I just got this one, too! I've only tried to use it once (just tried a little while ago and apparently forgot to charge it. Oops.) but I'm quite excited! It definitely seems a little aimless but honestly I didn't want to have our vacuum connected to wifi so I'm ok with the aimless! LOL
I got my first robovac (Eufy) last month and it's awesome. For a place that was getting vacuumed and dusted as much as mine was, the robovac still found crumbs and cat fur I'd missed. Definitely needed to do a big declutter before anything like that was possibnle, and it's SO been worth it!
We have so many conveniences today, yet it seems more challenging to get things done. My home is so easy to clean now that I catch myself doing dishes by hand because it gives me pause to think and relax. Go figure.
I love these pointers and tips. This reminds me of the old school book, Cheaper by the Dozen, the father is a specialist in maximizing time. You could be his daughter!
I did this for years when my boys were little, and we were homeschooling. Everyone was “more full” due to eating hot food rather than just a PBJ. Also gave me all day to clean up since we have no dishwasher.
I read that book when I was 10 or 12! It had a HUGE influence me. I'm all about eliminating wasted motion. If you take it too far it can be problematic, though!
Love the meal planning binder! I'm always looking for new recipes, so how do you factor those in? And do you have a video specific to your meal binder setup? Thanks for all your great advice❤
love watching our videos - i binge watch them over and over - your home is so beautiful! and your laundry room is the size of my whole appartment - such a dream- so beautiful! your kitchen is so beautiful and huge as well - thank you for the lovely videos and you are such a beautiful spirited person
Had to laugh, as I was listening to you, my Alexa heard you say to use Alexa for reminders and my Alexa responded, "reminders, what reminders do you want?" Thanks for all the useful time saving info! Lisa K
I've been watching so many of your videos since I found your channel. You are such an inspirational and down to earth person! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wisdom in such a fun & easy-to-comprehend way. I have ADHD as well, and my organization style is a butterfly. These videos have motivated me to figure out the best methods that work for me. For the first time in my 32 years of life, I can say I finally am on the road to getting the hang of it. It's been life-changing. "Organization is not about perfection. It's about efficiency, reducing stress and clutter, saving time and money, and improving your overall quality of life" (~Christina Scalise) PS! I am very much on board to petition to bring minivans back.
I’m with you! I love Amazon! Grocery stores always rearrange the store so I can’t just run in for blah..it’s just nice finding your exact item. I don’t have to look all over creation .
Hey Cass! Great ideas that I think I might take and use a few of. House hunting is always tough, but what about looking for a house that has a "pool" or "Guest" house? A separate building you can use as an office. Just a thought. Congrats on the new Crew member and good luck with your house hunt!!
I hope you find the house of your dreams soon. It's going to be so exciting for us seeing you organize and decorate new areas! ;) (But it will be weird not seeing this house we are so used to now.)
Great tips! Please don’t use plastic liners, and replace the parchment paper by a reusable Cookina type baking liner. Plastic ends up in the landfill and oceans, you will need only one minute to clean your slow cooker and you will save money on top of it. I think one minute is worth spending if it helps the planet that we and our children live on 😊

Amazon filled a huge need that we didn’t know we had. As a working person, I just didn’t have the time to go around to many different bricks and mortar shops, and didn’t want to spend my limited time off doing that. Couldn’t live without it now, especially in the pandemic years. It’s not ethically all bad, it brings many small manufacturers from all over the world into the global marketplace. I have bought many wonderful things there, like hand-carved marble items and even my perfect new mattress!
So many great tips!! I'm implementing that elastic shoelace thing immediately on my exercise shoes...they come undone constantly. And completely unrelated you just solved another problem just with the visual from your video. I don't have much cabinet space so I always wound up putting chips on top of my fridge. It never occurred to me to put them in a bin!!! Thank you that will look much nicer!
Oh my God I love the meal planning binder ideal my biggest chore every week is just deciding which meals to make and I'm always forgetting about meals that my family love what a great 💡 idea
Cas, thank you for always providing us with useful tips. Can you tell us where you found your laundry hampers? I stopped sorting too, and I use those color grabber sheets to prevent colors from bleeding onto the lighter colored clothes.

Those elastic laces! I'm buying those for my Mom who has Alzheimer's. I have bought her slip on shoes but she keeps defaulting back to her favorite New Balance sneakers and is having problems with the laces. I am definitely getting those!
Can I just say, I recently found your channel. I love it. You are helpful, down to earth and give advice that is truly helpful. You don't ignore the realities that we all have and that things don't have to do be perfect. Thanks so much for your content!

Cass, that Revlon dryer brush is AWESOME! I dumpster dive and found 5 brand new ones! I also found 3 Roombas that work perfectly. I buy everything online too. You are my inspiration and motivation. YES! The 1 minute rule! Always! I've got it drummed into my son's head now. Just wish I could get it into the hubsters head cuz right now, it takes me about 20 minutes a day to take care of his 1 minute rule items. LOL
Dang I have been doing almost all this for years. I needed a channel lol. I even had the binder. Now my kids are grown and gone and I don't have to do all this as much. Love the channel.
I really like some of the tips but using plastic liners insted of washing pans, and paper plates, cups, etc I really do not agree with being a daily "hack". The waste is just too much, and when used with food most of this garbage can not be recycled.
I’ve been watching lots and lots of your old videos. I’m writing this evening to tell you how great you look as compared to last year you have greatly slimed down and it is highly noticeable! Bravo! I enjoy your personality and every single thing you say I hang upon.
Love all tips. Love you. One comment. Please consider not recommending crock pot bags as reducing plastic use is one way to minimize impact to our already ailing planet. It’s worth the clean up! Hugs to you and all that you do!
@@catherine77_99 YES!!! I kind of ranted on poor Cas in the comments... with her appeal and following, people really listen to her, and I agree, it was upsetting to hear such a harmful tip (and the paper plates too).
@@razorbladelemonade Plastic is non renewable from petrochemicals and is resource heavy and polluting in its manufacturing and won't biodegrade in landfill sites. Water usually comes from the sky in the form of rain. Many of us have rainwater tanks to supply our water and greywater systems to divert that used water onto our gardens especially fruit trees.
@@razorbladelemonade No comparison. Water is actually totally renewable -- not to say it should be wasted. As an example, the manufacture process for a single paper plate will use more water than a lifetime of washing its non-disposable counterpart.
Our version of paper plate night, are 'wog-plates' (it's not derogatory, just a phrase). These are the boxes that coffee pods, or biscuits or pizza, etc come in, ripped on half to make 2 plates. Saves washing up.
I've been watching your fun and useful videos for years, Cas, and it's fantastic to see you achieving your dreams 💖. You really are such an amazing and inspiring woman! Thank you so much for all your help from the UK! xx
I love your tips and tricks for decluttering, organizing, etc. I wish you could help me in person. My house is a hot mess. It doesn't look like it on the surface but I struggle some days to work on letting go of the clutter. But your videos help me so much with motivation, and getting it done.
I really wish you would put out a series of videos for a single person owning their own home. Who works at 4:00 a.m. to sometimes 5:00 p.m. who has to do everything for themselves. Because honestly I'm overwhelmed. I have lupus and I have to work a lot I work 5 days a week and on my off days I try to put all my doctor's appointments on one day but it doesn't always work. Sometimes I just have to cancel my appointments that week because I'm just too tired. Not only that during my covid recovery I was so stressed out from calling out of work it just made me more exhausted it is 9:09 p.m. right now and I need to be to work for 4:00 a.m. and I have indigestion and I'm not feeling good still. I did a load of laundry tonight made supper with leftovers and threw a load in the dishwasher. But I still have so much to do. So tell me how can I organize a home that is so cluttered when I work such long days and I'm so tired. It wouldn't matter if I lived in an apartment or a condo. Please tell me I'm not being sarcastic I'm begging you with all my heart and all my soul.
Hello fresh has changed my life! I really hate to cook. And shop. And meal plan. (My poor family) I have 2 teenagers at home and a husband who can eat an obnoxious amount of food. So when I get my box I do a Walmart order to add extra ingredients (that are on the recipe) to bulk up the meals, like green peppers, onions, cauliflower, etc. just pick up my order and done. Everyone loves the recipes and I don’t have to think (stress) about it. The portions are fine for me so if you have a “normal” family 🤪 no extra is needed. And thanks for all your content. It gives me some motivation when I have none.
I’m a huge fan Cas! Ever since I saw your show on HGTV, Hot Mess House. I’m hoping there would be another season. And if there is, when does it start please? Thank you for sharing your knowing in organizing which is, by the way, very practical and doable. God bless.🤗🙏🏻
I love your decluttering advice I’m also an Amazon Prime member I’ve been rewatching your videos trying to find the Amazon link for stackable storage bins for bedroom pillows and blanket If you have any idea of what I’m talking about please send link Thank you so much!
Honestly I remember the days of super stress with sweeping the floors. I felt like that was the only thing I was doing constantly. Cue the robot vac and now I feel like I have time and freedom! I recommend everyone get their own personal sweeper! 😃 Also good luck on the house search! It is so so hard. We are on the hunt right now too!
Hi Cas!!! I just set my credit cards up for the minimum payment. I can always pay more, but it is saving me time! If I ever need a second wind, or motivation, I watch one of your videos. I can't thank you enough! 💜 Wishing you all the best with your home search! It's exciting! How nice that your home is totally organized, making moving easier! 💜
Now that you have gotten use to the AUTO pay, I recommend changing the setting to pay the new balance in FULL instead of the minimum payment so you never accidentally pay fees.
I love your channel and I watch your TV show and I watch all your videos and I was wondering could you do an update video with your weight loss journey? it’s so inspiring to see the change in you!
Me too! When I turned 60 I stopped coloring my hair and hired a good hair stylist (my niece, lol). She cuts it short and layered. On most days I just wash my hair and fluff with my fingers as it dries. I save so much time, money, and aggravation.
Some great tips Cas....but the Smart tech is not for me....too much control out of my tiny hands! And as for Amazon....I used to use them a lot until I realised how much they have monopolised online shopping at the expense of independent physical and online retailers, many of whom were forced to close for ever in 2020 or 2021. So I have decreased my shopping at Amazon drastically and don’t miss it! Bond villain, ha ha!
I love all the hacks you suggested. My favorite is the robo vacuum. I bought myself one for Christmas. I named her Rosie, I feel so liberated!!! It runs every day, the house stays clean, I am so happy. If the TV and the robo Vac broke, I would replace the robo vac first!…..
I love the time saving tips. My only concern is the slow cooker liners. Are there recyclable options since they are a throw away item. I'm all for saving time but not at the expense of the environment.
OH, I was so triggered by that, and the disposable plates and dustwand tops... all very poor ideas, since 'convenience' is what got us into this environmental mess to begin with. There are much better choices for all those tips that won't create trash. (The crock pot liner was new to me, and shocking.... I can't believe that's even a thing).
I just commented the same thing. If you set a timer I bet it takes no longer than two minutes to wash the pot. Two minutes I bet you’d spend scrolling the phone anyway.
I love the elastic shoelaces. I wash by individuals, BUT can’t wash darks with lights. It may save you time but it it ruins your clothing in the long run.
I felt like that too and as a result have decluttered almost all my light clothes! Seemed the best trade for me (especially as I was wearing the darker clothes more often).
I have also gotten rid of nearly everything that would be considered a 'light' except for some socks. Which are the invisible socks, so I don't even care if they get weird colored. As a single person doing just my laundry, I can do just one load every ten or so days when I run out of workout clothes
I use the sweeper mop and dusting wand daily. I actually mop with a bucket about once a week when I do a deeper clean on the house. Also I've been meaning to buy the pink stuff, everyone says it's the holy grail of cleaning products 😅
We live in a spit-level home - yep, three floors. I have purchased Roombas needing repair on FaceBook Marketplace and fixed them and we now have one on each level of our house. Ours are named after TV maids - Hazel, Florence and Rosie. We also have Mr. French, our Roomba mop. What a time saver!
I don’t know whether to be proud of doing almost all of this already or disappointed that I don’t have much time I can shave. :) I did learn about The Pink Stuff, though. Excited to try that. I also don’t wash my hair every day, but I do wet it every day as if I’m going to shampoo. My hair still stays super healthy, but I don’t have to use dry shampoo as often and it is always freshly styled, which is better for my particular hairstyle. If you’re too busy to sweep floors and don’t have a roomba, etc., grab a broom and in as few continuous lines as possible sweep just the outer edge/against the walls, of each room. Since that’s where dirt and pet hair gets shoved by traffic, the floors look 75% cleaner in 10% of the time. We keep a nice looking basket in each “public” room and during quick pickups, anything that doesn’t belong in that room goes in that basket. So much neater than stuff all over the place, and a great chore for younger kids to run things back to the correct room once a day. I brain dump on my iPad (w Apple Pencil, just like writing on paper) so that I can then drag things around to prioritize, and also put things right on my calendar, etc. (I could probably do a video on 30 ways I use my iPad to save time and stay organized - anywhere!) Using Alexa like we do ;) you don’t need the “all out of” list. Literally AS we are pouring milk from a gallon getting low, we say, “Alexa, add milk to the shopping list.” and then when shopping, we open that list on our phone where we can check off items as we buy them. It also organizes things by aisle. We also tell her to add items to the Dollar Store list, the Walmart list, etc. That way, anyone in the family who stops in somewhere for something can check the list and grab anything else on it. I only meal plan for dinner, so inside a cabinet door, I printed and laminated a calendar without dates (can easily be purchased) and it’s taped to the cabinet with a strip the entire length of the top. This is because I lift that up and underneath all of the things we love to eat are written on those post-its that are about 1/2” by 1.5” (?) The meat portion is written in black ink and the side dishes are written in blue. If Hubs is craving something, he replaces the planned meal that day or the next and I roll with it. He’ll also switch around the days meals are planned sometimes for whatever reason. Along with cooking double meat… all week long, throw any leftover veggies into an air tight container in the fridge. On Saturday, throw it in the crock pot, with a liner ;) add some of that extra chicken or beef and make soup, because if your house is like ours was, people eat at all different times around Saturday activities. Efficiency experts… everyone, even adults, should read the original Cheaper by the Dozen, by Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. Hi Cas, Can you do a video teaching us how to set up the lights inside/outside to go on/off using an Alexa ... sounds AMAZiNG, especially with Christmas coming. Thanks.. your videos are my new addiction.
Mine are a mixture... I ended up writing on the tag, what corner it should be on
My parents put a safety pin in the middle of the head and foot of the sheets.
There are some sheets from target that have "top or bottom" labels. It's super helpful with king sized sheets!
@@alil7348 I guess I just got lucky. 😂
Cool!
I did the same thing and I love it!! ❤️
I use light grey towels for every room. They match all decor, and unlike white, never need bleaching. Saves lots of time and energy, and looks lovely.
Same! I also do the same for my boys socks....all black, same style, and I never see the stains!
I have been doing this for some time and I love it!
I have one I learned yesterday! My roommate hangs a garbage bag in his closet so decluttering is immediate and not an hour over the weekend! This is such great advice!
For sure!
Great idea!! I'm gonna start this now!
I always "stay til the end." Its my favorite part! Your honesty is refreshing. Thanks for making all of us feel like normal human beings with your musings.
You are so welcome!

I'm a homeschool mom, so time-saving is a must! When i cook ground meat, i usually cook at least 10-15 lbs at a time. I freeze the cooked meat (by the pound) flat in ziploc bags, and it's so easy to throw into a meal!
So smart!
Karen here. Also leftover spaghetti sauce. Even a little saved up over time can be added to the bigger pot.
I chop onions and put baggies of them in my freezer.

I use reusable silicone pan liners for baking sheets, and if something gets stuck to a pot I just let it soak overnight
Edit: Another massive time saver tfor me was to stop shopping "for fun." I used to go to the store to shop around when I was bored, and didn't really need anything.
Good for you!
Agree completely, I love a time saver but if we have no planet to live on what's the point. Happy to get behind the other tips though
@@Clutterbug Cas, my mental health and I love you! Thanks for helping us out!
Perfect! I’m gonna do this
@Wendy S. King, this is genius :D
I thought that too..
Avoid plastic as much as possible.
Agreed! And why use more unnecessary plastic which is harmful for the environment.
Your energy while talking about laziness is everything 🥰
Lol!
Haha! It’s because she’s saved all that time by taking the shortcuts 🤣 For which we are so grateful! 💜
I’ve been decluttering to save time rummaging through drawers. It really does help. The pandemic is so stressful, so why not make my life more easy? Yes ma’am!

@@tracytracy622 ooh great tip for buttering the crockpot!
Agreed! Plus I don't like the idea of thin plastic next to my hot food for a long time, what if it melts or puts off chemicals?
I never put hot foods in plastic or reheat in plastic, much less cook in plastic.
There are also silicone crockpot liners and dividers( cook two things at once)
I've been using instacart for two-plus years to shop for my groceries. I don't pick up a bunch of crap that's bad for me because I'm physically there in the store and maybe I'm hungry or depressed and I want to grab a bunch of chocolate. And I can be doing other things while the Shopper is shopping for my food. It's awesome sauce!
Especially your cleaning shortcuts have helped me immensely. Thank you for giving me permission to run the dishwasher daily, every when it's not full. As a former cheapskate, I needed to hear that this would make my life better, and it did!
You are so welcome!
Me too! Such a gamer-changer!
Same!
You do what works best for YOU :)
I agree. I don't like voice command anything. It doesn't take long to write it in a diary or type it in your phone calender and set a reminder.
This is why I dont use an online calendar or planner either. I like writing it into my planner.
@@smile4cla I like writing things down on a list. Writing things helps me remember to actually do it!
Great tips! I was an early adopter of the Roomba. Yes, it was an investment but that same machine still works great after more than 10 years. I recently upgraded to a vacuum/mop and it's even better. I highly recommend upgrading to a robot mop.
I've been toying with the idea too! 4 years with the roomba and still love it
I’ve had a Bissell Crosswave (a vac & mop) for 4 yrs for my hardwood floors.
@@Lasairfiona I do the same with my roomba. I don't bother with the app.

Great tips! Please don’t use plastic liners, and replace the parchment paper by a reusable Cookina type baking liner. Plastic ends up in the landfill and oceans, you will need only one minute to clean your slow cooker and you will save money on top of it. I think one minute is worth spending if it helps the planet that we and our children live on 😊
I share your thought. I really despise “wipes” too. So wasteful.
You could also use silpat silicone sheets in your cookie sheets. The plastic liner in the slow cookers is just a big nope for me

As a working person, I just didn’t have the time to go around to many different bricks and mortar shops, and didn’t want to spend my limited time off doing that. @@catherine77_99 YES!!! I kind of ranted on poor Cas in the comments... with her appeal and following, people really listen to her, and I agree, it was upsetting to hear such a harmful tip (and the paper plates too).
Then you just use water cleaning is that not a limited resource too?

I love your decluttering advice
I’m also an Amazon Prime member
I’ve been rewatching your videos trying to find the Amazon link for stackable storage bins for bedroom pillows and blanket
If you have any idea of what I’m talking about please send link
Thank you so much!
As a chiropractor’s wife, I am glad to see you prioritizing your chiropractic care 😉💛
I am!
Fantastic tips! I will definitely be using a lot of these in 2023! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Honestly I remember the days of super stress with sweeping the floors. I felt like that was the only thing I was doing constantly. Cue the robot vac and now I feel like I have time and freedom! I recommend everyone get their own personal sweeper! 😃
Also good luck on the house search! It is so so hard. We are on the hunt right now too!
Thank you!
Your videos are changing my home and my life! Letting go and being able to find things... it's amazing.
Hi Cas!!! I just set my credit cards up for the minimum payment. I can always pay more, but it is saving me time!
If I ever need a second wind, or motivation, I watch one of your videos.
I can't thank you enough! 💜
Wishing you all the best with your home search! It's exciting!
How nice that your home is totally organized, making moving easier! 💜
Thank you!
Now that you have gotten use to the AUTO pay, I recommend changing the setting to pay the new balance in FULL instead of the minimum payment so you never accidentally pay fees.

I don't have the money to pay in full at this time, maybe soon!
I love your channel and I watch your TV show and I watch all your videos and I was wondering could you do an update video with your weight loss journey? it’s so inspiring to see the change in you!
I decided to cut my hair really, really short last fall. Oh my goodness it saves me SO much time!
Me too! When I turned 60 I stopped coloring my hair and hired a good hair stylist (my niece, lol). She cuts it short and layered. On most days I just wash my hair and fluff with my fingers as it dries. I save so much time, money, and aggravation.
You Are Literally My FAVORITE🤗🤗🤗
Some great tips Cas....but the Smart tech is not for me....too much control out of my tiny hands! And as for Amazon....I used to use them a lot until I realised how much they have monopolised online shopping at the expense of independent physical and online retailers, many of whom were forced to close for ever in 2020 or 2021. So I have decreased my shopping at Amazon drastically and don’t miss it! Bond villain, ha ha!
Thank you, I truly appreciate you sharing and all the advise. I’m slowing working on decluttering and organizing.
That hairdryer. YES! I have long, thick hair and I can now dry my hair in 5 minutes. Life changing!
Right?!
Saw your comment and can't wait to get to the hairdryer part of this video, to find out more... you've got my hopes up!
Where can I find those pads that say all out of and meal plan etc??? I need those!! Thanks for the great tips!

I use method glass cleaner on everything too! It smells amazing
:)
I named one Rosie too!
Congratulations on your growing team. I absolutely love watching your content. Thanks for the tips!
You're welcome!
Amazing! May I know where you bough your kitchen snack drawer? Ive been looking for one😢
I love the time saving tips. My only concern is the slow cooker liners. Are there recyclable options since they are a throw away item. I'm all for saving time but not at the expense of the environment.
My thoughts too after watching this video 😔
Silicone liners are less than $20, nothing sticks to them, and you can throw them into the dishwasher 😊
@@booptidoo reusable is always better. Thanks
I absolutely love your honesty 😂.
I haven't had any issues, but I understand your concern.
So happy for you!!! You’ve wanted a new home for years. The time has come!
Yes it has!
I use the sweeper mop and dusting wand daily. I actually mop with a bucket about once a week when I do a deeper clean on the house. Also I've been meaning to buy the pink stuff, everyone says it's the holy grail of cleaning products 😅
Never heard of the Pink Stuff, but will give it a try🤔🤞Holy Grail LOL😂🤣😂💗
Lol!
What hair styler/dryer is in the beginning of the video pls? Thank you! Love your videos & stories! ❤
Cas, you created a reminder to clean out my garage at 3pm. 😂 Guess I watched this video too close to my Alexa.
Lol
We live in a spit-level home - yep, three floors. I have purchased Roombas needing repair on FaceBook Marketplace and fixed them and we now have one on each level of our house. Ours are named after TV maids - Hazel, Florence and Rosie. We also have Mr. French, our Roomba mop. What a time saver!
Thank you so much for these tips! I've added a few of these to my shopping list!
You are so welcome!
(I could probably do a video on 30 ways I use my iPad to save time and stay organized - anywhere!)
Using Alexa like we do ;) you don’t need the “all out of” list.
My sister in law’s lunch/snack station is a shoe organizer on the back of one of her pantry doors.
Efficiency experts… everyone, even adults, should read the original Cheaper by the Dozen, by Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. Its a true story about a couple of married, professional efficiency experts implementing all kinds of timesavers at home for them and their 12 children. It’s a fun read and even though many of their ideas are outdated, it’s what motivated me to become so efficient and it prompted many similar ideas for current times.
I actually think your hacks save even more time than you estimated plus it frees up brain space !
:)
Hi Cas, Can you do a video teaching us how to set up the lights inside/outside to go on/off using an Alexa ... sounds AMAZiNG, especially with Christmas coming. Thanks.. your videos are my new addiction.
