GTD is a concept I've been looking into for Months but was never really privy to such a concise and simple overview. For a person whose having trouble with where to start with the limitless tools, countless websites, and applications that use the strategy...all I really wanted was just such a cursory explanation...Thanks !
Nice video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Sanailey Inconceivable System (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for getting the success you deserve in your life minus the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my coo-worker at last got great results with it.
If you think this version of GTD is genius: I have been researching the GTD system after having watched this video (knew what it was, never got into due to sounding too complicated). Found the updated GTD Workflow Map (which is a complete and solid outline of the updated GTD system). It's genius times a hundred. It's a $10 PDF download. It's one of the best $10's you'll ever spend. Seriously.
Great Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you considered - Sanailey Inconceivable System (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for getting the success you deserve using this proven betting system without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my old buddy Taylor got excellent results with it.
This is very helpful and summarises the entire info. I am usually confused between the project list and Action list. So that loop you showed there between Is it Actionable->Project Task List-> Sub Actions, how does this work? I divide my next action steps part of project in to a project list, then what?
Funny...I had the same questions. How do I track the project steps to the next action? In the explanation, when the project is identified, the steps are listed and those steps move to the next action list as they become doable. I'm not sure why this understanding alluded me and this video really explained this for me.
It WOULD be a good video if all the important stuff for half of the video was off screen. Quite a strange thing not to notice... thanks anyway for making it though. (Also, is someone playing a tuba in the background?)
I think my problem is I put most of my things in the incubate box, and then it get so full, I have incubate items all over my desk., pockets, phone, computer, emails, ect.
I can't see the bottom of the screen - if using camtasia reduce the screen size you are using - this should solve the cut off problem and you could re-upload the video cheers
very good and clear explanation - thanks very much. I find the delegate it thing an odd one though - if, as I'm sure many do, people are using it just for their personal to do stuff who the heck are they going to delegate to ? hey neighbour fancy wahing my car ? .. I suspect the answer might end in OFF. also agree with others re the bottom bit being of screen and recording next to a dentist surgery not so good.
If you are a manager of some kind than it makes sense to include the delegate part, otherwise (if it to just organize your life) just ignore that part. That being sad, you can still delegate tasks to your wife and children hahaha.
cocteaufan I need certain clothes washed & ironed for a big event, I don't do the washing and am not practised at ironing, so my girlfriend who always does the washing would be better suited for the task (and happy to do so). So the answer is to delegate, add a reminder somewhere (next action etc) to speak to her and confirm. Car tail light broken, delegate to mechanic, simples. :)
Yea, I think this guy in the middle of a chainsaw massacre decided to share with everyone how he and his partner keep it all organized...that's his partner in the background.
Now I am sure I am not crazy! LOL I spent years and years of my life creating systems similar to this, but never told anyone about it. I feared I might be paranoid. LOL

Excellent explanation--the flowchart makes things much more clear. Thank you!
Beautifully explained with a simple flow chart! Thank you!
This has to be the best GTD breakdown in its most simpliest form - Love it!
Why is some of the information off screen? I really would like to see what is there!!

10 years later and still helpful :)

Thank you for this simple introduction to the general idea of GTD!
Great explaination, thank you very much. Sounds very simple and easy to do. Will try it!
Short and sweet, well explained. Thanks for uploading Roel.

Best definition of GTD . Thanks. Been trying to get a grip on it since I bought Pocket Informant.
Great video! Really well explained. I've just been getting back in the GTD system and like Milind, I too can benefit from watching it regularly.
i decided his neighbor was practicing a part of a fugue for tuba
Can you please upload a link so we can see the whole screen. I would really appreciate that. At least I can see what's your referring to.
I think you do a concrete job of explaining the fundamentals of this discipline. To translate this in to technology, it's simply views.
Fantastic flow chart!

***** I feel like I have found a happy medium. I will be happy to chat this with you if you like.

Hi, how did you end up managing your lists?
reviewing your incubated tasks is just as important as reviewing your project list, according to gtd
Very well done and helpful.
Which App would have all this ready without me having to remember the system?
+New Sigmund Freud , I found NirvanaHQ, I think it's really good, and it's already set up according to the basic framework.
Have you tried Todoist? It's modelled on GTD.
It WOULD be a good video if all the important stuff for half of the video was off screen. Quite a strange thing not to notice... thanks anyway for making it though. (Also, is someone playing a tuba in the background?)
what a trooper. he recorded this audio even while they dismantled his studio with power tools. just joking, good summary.
BTW, what program do you use to hold these lists?
I know this was from a few years ago but is it possible to share the flowchart on google docs or something like that? 🙏please

Excellent presentation, but really, redo it man!
I can't see the bottom of the screen - if using camtasia reduce the screen size you are using - this should solve the cut off problem and you could re-upload the video

Very useful. Thanks
Great Explanation but the drilling in the wall disturbed me a bit...
Any app which can make GTD arranging easier ?
