MT's playing pushed them to the next step up the ladder for sure. Aside from occasional side contributors, MT is the only true lead soloist the Stones have ever had. Ronnie's wonderful and Keef still rocks his Chuck Berry material, but ...
@@chasbodaniels1744 Ron Wood is the biggest hack to ever come out of the UK. After they made Mick Taylor feel like he wasn't a part of the group and got him to leave Kieth insisted his replacement could not be someone who would make him feel inadequate/inferior. Hence Ron Woods becomes the second Stone to fill Brian Jones' spot. What has Wood ever contributed to the Rolling Stones except to get on stage and provide two hours of ridiculous non-stop rock star "posturing" with a lit cigarette dangling from his mouth.
I learned to play this masterpiece of slow blues and slide 49 years ago. What is not easily apparent to the viewer is the incredible nuanced play of Mick Taylor's slide work and the accompanying rhythm guitar by Kieth Richards. Sir, you have it nailed down as best as anyone could ever attempt it. It takes a lot of finessed control to get all the little details in and I can't find a single flaw in your performance . Excellent! Thank you for sharing.
Well, we’ll, well. Very impressive! I know Mick Taylor was playing the slide solo with a moderate degree of improvising, but you did that via 100% memorizing his parts. How I have no clue. I would have forgotten the rest after eight bars! Well done!
This solo is awesome and happyhotstar executes it to perfection here. I actually really like Taylor’s solo from the ladies and gentlemen love in vain as well. No slide on that one but it’s still one of my favorite solos of all time.
Yes, the slide is the first half of the song. In the video you can see him slip into his pocket and finger the last (furious) minute or so through those smoking Ampeg’s.
Это просто фантастика. Лучшее, что я видел. Профессионализм исполнителя высочайший, снимаю шляпу. С огромным уважением и удовольствием от просмотренного видео, фанат Стоунз из России. Keep posting, please.
Can listen to this album a million times never get tired of it. True mastery. Brilliant, Stones at their prime. Mick Taylor really Kicks it up a notch! Would have been great to have had Brian Still with them And Mick Taylor!!!!!!
Guys forget about tab! Just watch em and listen. Takes some time. Little tip, if you have snap chat you can record segments of it and that way it will keep looping over and over. And it will be faster and easier to match up with what he is playing.
Ah, hold your tongue about Ronnie, yes Mick is a great asset to the Stones during this post Brian Jones period, Ronnie Wood is no slouch on slide guitar. I've heard Ronnie pull out some pretty cool stuff over the years, he doesn't do it everyday, look how many gigs these people have played by the way. Anyway , great job on the tune, did you drop your high E string down to D, just wondering
That made me laugh ... having seen the Stones many times I’ve always thought he was winging it and getting away with murder!!! But who would want to follow Mick Taylor .. even towards the end when he lost interest and was blowing slide over every song live!!!
This just keep's getting better man you are a great guitar player really the best i've ever heard man your wasting your time being on you tube man you should be in a band playing with the best your up their as i said before keep rock'n those blues and riff really good now.
strangely enough it's in standard tuning, other than the high (thin) E string is tuned down a full-step. how taylor came up with that and for what purpose is beyond me. i'd love to know how that came about.
This song is NOT a Rolling Stones cover..they among many others have covered it. Give credit to the one who WROTE it, the greatest Blues artist of all time: Robert Johnson
+Jan Andriessen The first part of the song is standard tuning. The slide part is open G. Only change the high E string, drop it down to D, since you will be only using the 1st 4 strings, leave the 5th and 6th strings alone.
excellent.
Practise is The key for anything you want to be good at,Bet Mr. Happy has done his fair share, You to can play these song's,I see it all the time,People want to do this or that,But don't realise how much practice is Needed. So they give up & never get anywhere.Learn some scales 1st.You Can Do It.
Mick Taylor's presence from '69 - '74 was during the Stones glory days. Plain and simple.
MT's playing pushed them to the next step up the ladder for sure. Aside from occasional side contributors, MT is the only true lead soloist the Stones have ever had. Ronnie's wonderful and Keef still rocks his Chuck Berry material, but ...
68-82 where glory days.
I loved the Brian area as well. I despise Ron Woods.

A moment of silence for the three tone-deaf people who gave this a thumbs-down. I pity you.
13 tragic souls beyond all God's mercy as of 3/35/21 ....
they make me laugh ... the utter wonderment of spiritual deafness.

One of the few videos that is actually the right way to play this Mick Taylor solo.
This solo is awesome and happyhotstar executes it to perfection here. I actually really like Taylor’s solo from the ladies and gentlemen love in vain as well. No slide on that one but it’s still one of my favorite solos of all time.

Hey star you are the most spot on Stones player on RUclips. Hope you could post more Stones stuff from the Mick Taylor years thanks a lot man
Can listen to this album a million times never get tired of it. True mastery. Brilliant, Stones at their prime. Mick Taylor really Kicks it up a notch! Would have been great to have had Brian Still with them And Mick Taylor!!!!!!
great job on a great song, for me the best version the Stones did.
You have a very good ear to be able to play over the record so perfectly.
You only need to play in tune, not that hard!
Charlie’s drumming is amazing.
Well said Alex 🥁🙏☘️
Mick Taylor - perhaps the greatest rhythm guitarist in the world..... and he can easily carry a show by himself.
Wow...that was nice...one of my favorites..best live album from anybody...!!
Nice feel. Great soft touch. Beautifull.
One of my all favorites..live
Just 1 word... AMAZING!!
Well done bro
That was amazing
Great job on my favorite Stones song.
You do a great job on the videos and the guitar parts. Only thing lacking is tabs for us incompetents !
this is way better than the original version.... it made me cry :”
Posted 14 years ago. How did I miss this. Awesome!
Excellent. One of my favs.

All hail Mick Taylor! (and guys that know how to cover those sweet licks) 😎
Good job bro...! Your slide part is damn near perfect.....

My all time favorite Stones song

Very So Good ! Like Mick Taylor !!
This is the Ya Ya's version, I think - right? The best version is from Ladies & Gentleman and all in std tuning (live).
The best version is by the greatest Blues artist of all time, who wrote it - Robert Johnson...thank you

Somebody should actually teach this to Ron Wood.
Why? They’ve hardly played it for the last 25 years.
That made me laugh ... having seen the Stones many times I’ve always thought he was winging it and getting away with murder!!! But who would want to follow Mick Taylor .. even towards the end when he lost interest and was blowing slide over every song live!!!
Yes! 😂😂 too good man
This just keep's getting better man you are a great guitar player really the best i've ever heard man your wasting your time being on you tube man you should be in a band playing with the best your up their as i said before keep rock'n those blues and riff really good now.
One of my favs. I like the studio version a bit better. It was more like a yodel. Yodel a hee yodel a hee hoo!! But excellent demonstration!!
It’s a cross between Love In Vain and I’ve Been Loving You Too Long.
Keith (I think) “I didn’t quite get the archipelago right”. Ronnie (probably) “Arffur who? “ And probably not the first time they’ve said it.
you are the best...
Awesome!!! 👍👏👏👏
Great playing ...Any lesson to come ?
Thank you,
The stones should hire you!
they damn near did .... google ‘wayne perkins’

A much prefer the sound of the Strat to the tele, its got a less sharp, harsh sound.
Nice job
give tabs please
Did you tune it in open tuning for the slide part ?
seems to be open g
What concert is this live performance from?
+Justin Marinelli It's from the album Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! It's a live album from the stone's 69 tour.
SnideArtist Really? I don't remember this version being on that album.
I've listened to that album a thousand times. Comes right after Stray Cat Blues and before Midnight Rambler.
the bottom e should be tuned to d
How about Nadene ?
why can’t she be true though ?
very good please the tuning for slide ???
+Jan Andriessen The first part of the song is standard tuning. The slide part is open G. Only change the high E string, drop it down to D, since you will be only using the 1st 4 strings, leave the 5th and 6th strings alone.
PHEE-NAHHH-MINNN-UHHLLLL. !!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, you can tell by the chord shapes
i take that back it might be in open g because of the slide
excellent.

Sorry but you played the intro wrong. You played the slide part awesome though, much better.
this version is from Baltimore, 1969..
+Jérem Bruandet Nope. MSG. NYC. Get Yer Ya Ya's Out album. In standard guitar tuning - birdbrains.
GYYYO was a combo of NYC and Baltimore gigs
Now work on the vibratro.
