What a wonderful treat. Hard work and practice. Where do the great tracks come from? I'm a listener. Moody blues once said " but to the fool and the dreamer". I'm the fool and the dreamer. When we're in Heaven,I'll be on stage and my musical hero's will be in my seat in the audience. Never-ending bliss. And that's just the beginning.
I like the version from the Altamont Speedway... I know it got chopped up due to the crowd chaos, but the way Keith chops into it is great... the way Mick sings the end of it is really cool too.
I agree! That that entro from the restart of Under My Thumb , from that tragic show is simply mindblowing! I often listen to it on YTube, sends goosebumps all over me .....
I think I have it right when I say that the murder in front of the stage happened when the Stones were playing Under My Thumb whereas a lot of people wrong believe it was when they played Sympathy For The Devil.
Man that is awesome. Perfect and superb! I've watch this video so many times. Im almost there as far as the rhythm goes, but when you get into that lead, OMG.......i just can't get it. This is bad ass
That record as the Love you live are awsome to play over, jamming, learning stuff, using open G ( with five strings....lets do it right !!!😉) , and even othe open tunes.....well crazy as your are with the Under my thumb riffs....Im 46 ...and I ve been playing over that recor almost 32 years......I think thats enought JajajaHahahahaa !!!!!! All the best....you doing so fine , nice and tasty....as those jazz swing live are !!!!😎👽🦅🦅🦅🦇🐏🐏
Outstanding - what a great Christmas present - you got those blues rock riffs down. Please consider doing the live version of "I'm Free." Shine a light!
Dude, how did you decipher this? This rendition, in my opinion, is the epitome of Stonsey guitar weaving. This is the only place I've ever seen this exact version illustrated. Man, I wish I was a quicker study! But I'll be studying this one. Awesome job. You got every little stab, chop, & nuance sorted out. Nice!
It's actually very easy to learn to play Stones songs. Ronnie and Keith aren't guitar aces, to start with and they admit that. This is what you need to study and you can improv or workout the solos easily. Start by learn you minor pentatonic scales until you can dream them for every root note, than learn the blues scale which is basically adding some semi notes to the minor pentatonic. Add the major pentatonic for good measure but they use them very sporadically you will hear when you need to move outside of the minor pentatonic box. Play these scales each for about 2 weeks on every root note and you will have learned to hear and feel where each note comes from. Then comes the thing that requires some knack and that's the phrasing, Keith especially plays very few notes but does it all with phrasing over the basic rhythm. Than there's the final trick that's playing in open G tuning which is a bitch when you play solos but Keith hardly expire plays complex solos and the only difference is that the high e is 2 frets higher for your pentatonic. You quickly hear which songs Keith plays in open g. Songs like start me up, tumbling dice, happy, wish you were hear, jumping jack flash the live version, I learned guitar by playing stones songs and mastered the technique in 6 months, that's how simple they are. The simplicity can be annoying at times but when you're a lazy player like myself it can also be a wonderful way to relax, there's not a lot of thinking involved compared to hard rock and especially classical and metal. Oh and the weaving is simply dropping beats that the other fills in. That comes automatically when you work on phrasing. Also try not to be tight and the measure, Keith never plays on the beat but usually before
I can't believe I found this 2 years ago. Lost the link, and re-discovered! Thankfully! Great advice here. I do have to work a ton on discipline of practicing. Also... Can you do a video of "Going To A Go Go" from this tour? I love all the clever, choppy little riffs... There's nothing like the better performances of the Stones' 1980-1981 cover of the song (no disrespect to the original- COMPLETELY different in Stones style)
Raymond Doetjes that’s a pretty clinical analysis. as correct as it may be i think it oversimplifies. i agree nothing they play is overly complex, but that doesn’t mean it’s not great. many guitarists fail to capture the essence and the feel of stones songs. open g is an incredible gift, and unlocks many of their best songs making them easy to ‘play’, but again, you’ve gotta deliver on the swing and vibe. regardless of the tuning, much of their stuff is not complicated. but they came up w it, we didn’t. part of the genius IS the simplicity. if you really study beggars banquet and the deep tracks on exile, you have to give keith his due. that’s some incredible guitar work.
WOW!!!!! Are you sure? Can you confirm that information? Wayne Perkins is an AMAZING player, no wonder every one of his Stones covers is simply perfect. He did beautiful work with Bob Marley, too. Wayne Perkins is a major musician.
very very nice cover, the best versione on yt for me. could you please post a video tutorial lesson slowly how to make this amazing song as you play in the video? thank in advance
Do you by any chance have the tabs for the introductory licks? They appear fairly simple, but I am having difficulty picking them up from the video. Thanks.

Fantastico !!!!!!
Can anyone tell me how 8 people dislike this piece of work?
Yanni fans
They were brain damaged when they were dragged to a disco against their will and forced to listen to The Bee Gees.
Probably hip hop fans
Well it’s been three years since it was 8 and now it’s only 19. Not too bad... No accounting for taste is all....
they are stupid people
you make the best stones cover of youtube
Hardly surprising! This is the superlative Mr WAYNE PERKINS, folks......
