Heater Box Restoration (Part A) - Foxbody Restomod Part 10

- This is the worst thing I ever had to do for this Mustang (so far). I got a replacement heater box used from Ebay and I decided to split it in two to replace the evaporator core. It involved a heat gun, screwdrivers, a deadblow hammer, and way more force than I was comfortable applying to 30 year old plastic. Never again, lol!
I had to break this into (at least) two videos because I wanted to document the entire process of splitting the box in two in timelapse. Hopefully I'll have it wrapped up in the next.
Restoration on my 1989 Ford Mustang GT continues...

Great video. Will be doing this sometime in the near future
Good luck, this is definitely my least favorite part of the resto so far. I'd probably do the "cut the top" method for replacing the evap core if I were to do it again.
great video!! one I can come back to for my assembly, any idea where those vacuum lines hook up the blend doors to the selector? believe theyre red/blue/black
Thank you! I'm fairly certain that connector plugs directly into the HVAC control module with the three driver-facing knobs on it. I know I disconnected it in the dashboard restoration video but looking back on it it isn't super obvious in the video. I'll check it out tomorrow.
Looks like there's a set of lines with a connector that comes from the back of the control unit. Here's a picture imgur.com/a/4KyTfFO
