- This the second part of the heater box restoration. In this video I gave the rusty bits a quick rust converter spray, test the heater core and evaporator core for leaks, plastic weld a big cracked corner together, took apart and scrubbed the fan box, and finally glued the heater box together with the new evaporator core in inside. Then we put the thing back together, finish painting some stuff, and put it in storage.

Great work
Thanks!
Meticulous details but while it’s out better to do the get the amenities right!
Yep! Especially with an Ebay box, I had no idea what the history was on it. Plus its nice to scrub it all out.
What did you use to seal the box back together? And was there any screws?
I used "RTV Adhesive" which I was told was different from the RTV gasket stuff. It seems basically the same though tbh. I clamped the lip back together and let it cure for 24 hours. IIRC there were no screws keeping the top and the bottom half of the box sealed together but there were for the other box that attaches with the fan.
LMR sales the seals
Thanks for this, I did end up purchasing them from LMR later on after this video. They look way better too. Almost getting ready to put it back in the car so I'm pretty excited!
