Yeah there's a trim that goes between the run channel weatherstrip and the door frame. I think it's this part lmr.com/item/LRS-21596-TR/mustang-window-run-channel-trim-87-93 I completely destroyed mine removing the weatherstrip.
@@SleazysGarage OK, that's what I was thinking. When you put that back on, I learned a trick on installing them. If you use a wood paint mixing stick and a hammer to tap it on, it keeps you from denting the new pieces

What metal piece are you referring to? The "trim" that goes on the outside of the door?
