    My problem is the recent freak cold freezes in wintertime now😢
    Houston getting down to 14° even for a few hours is nutz!
    Most of my subtropical trees die back and then have to start all over from the beginning. I feel so defeated sometimes 😞

    Speaking of micro-climates, do you think a pineapple guava planted 1 year ago will need any shade cloth (in Phoenix)? Looks healthy right now, just started to bloom

      If you shade it, the worst that can happen is nothing.

      i have a how to video on this plant, check it out. Sun burn first summer in ground is normal. DOn't plant it in full shade

      Dont shade. I m in a super sunny location, and its in full sun

    I've often thought about microclimates. How about a large rock or boulder in one's yard? Could something planted either nearby or at its base be considered a microclimate? I'm thinking this since the boulder would both emit heat and prevent winds in the vicinity.

      @@qctropicals around $100? too expensive for me.... what interesting it was removing birds singing from the video. I really like to hear nature sounds from your video:)
