    Before meeting you, I was hand-watering all my plants and trees. I would be out there for several hours, multiple times a day pouring sweat. My husband asked me how I could keep doing it. I told him it was my responsibility, if I put them out there, I had to ensure they had water to survive. I have been a customer of yours for several years, I am so grateful to have found you.

    Im a plant killing profesional! I have achieved the gold star in this area! But Im doing better now that I use drip lines, Automation (timers), and Mulch! The Florida sunshine is no longer winning!

    A great trick is get a 5 gallon, screw a hole in it, put a drip tube in and put several in your pots. The 5 gallon will continually drip in it. You can also use a drip in a tray with your pot in it.

    I guess one could say that houseplants (indoor) are more at risk of being overwatered. 🤷‍♂

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  4 месяца назад +2

      yes simply because they don't sweat as much as outdoor plants. But indoor plants are easier to manage since temperatures are constant.

    Now that's temperature is increasing i water morning and evening. I plants lots of Zinnias they required lots of water. I also have vegetables and chiles etc. My plants never die. I make sure it doesn't lol. Don't understand why people would water their plants in the afternoon when it's hot out. And they wonder why it died lol.

      i water plants in 120f no issues. If I wait until it's cooler because people say don't water in the sun/heat, they'd be dead

    In my experience, most people kill their plants by overwatering.
    I also have seen many people lose plants very fast from overwatering. Their plants get root rot and die quickly.
    They also routinely mistake the signs of root rot and overwatering for their plants needing water, and thus, they compound the problem by giving the plants more water.

    thx alan i think another major topic is how to hardening plants , most nursery handling plants like indoor plants & you can tell by thin big & shine leaves so of course they sell you & say whatever you want to hear & after few days plants dead & people think its water issue .

    I was always taught, deep water rootball everyday for a week, then once a week. I do this for every fruit tree and vine I have, except the tropicals. They’re on my rose schedule; 3 times a week watering. When temps are over 110, the tropicals get watered every day or every other day, based on like you said, how much water they take in.
    Great video as always!

    Maybe you can do a video of how you are surviving during heat. Like one day at nursery. I have been in Arizona at the end of May and I was not able to breeze/stay on a desert more than 30mins. I don't know how you take care of your plants during summer time and how customers are dealing and shopping during that time. It's still ok in Florida to take care of my plants

      When it's hot like now I never water it afternoon evening around 7 yes when the temp gets cooler. Most planted will die if I water while still hot out there( burn)

    I wish you did videos on vegetable plants because I live in Arizona and hand water my vegetables due to their location. My tomato plants are big and green, but the leaves stay curled up all the time. I water thoroughly about every other day. After seeing this I'm guessing that's not enough.
    I have also tried several times to grow moringa. They grow to about 12 inches, then I water it, and the next day the leaves turn yellow and start dropping off.

      Apparently tomato plants use a lot of water. I am in Florida and I don't do more than 6-8 hr of direct sun for tomatoes

    99% True. But 2 summers ago my tomatoes cooked on the vine. We had several days of 105F+ They were yellow and I was waiting for them to start to ripen They didn't shrivel up. They just turned to mush. So, did I do something wrong? Or did the heat kill my plant?

    • @EffectivePickyEatersSolutions
      @EffectivePickyEatersSolutions 4 месяца назад

      Protect fruits from direct sunlight, fruits cooked under full sun are quite normal for a lot of plants, not only tomato
