Hi mate, thanks for the guide. I have the exact same symptoms, limp mode, engine light and when I took it in to the garage - it was plugged in and read as a MAF fault. I’m going to replace it myself to avoid paying what the garage is quoting, but just have a couple of questions:
1 - When I have replaced it, will it need to be plugged in again to clear the code and get out of limp mode?
2 - Is it recommended that I replace anything else while I am at it, air filter etc?
    Thanks mate

Hi George, thank you for watching and for your feedback. I would recommend you buy the diagnostic tool " iCarsoft " Multi-system Car Diagnostic Tool MB V3.0 it's about £175 or less on E-bay. It's a good tool to keep while you own the car and is very easy to use, also you can sell it when you no longer own the car. Certain items when replaced need to be adapted ( this tool does that ) to the car ( the air filter for example ) otherwise other issues / faults can show. There are better tools available but for the price and range I found this one worth buying. It's small enough to keep in the glovebox of your car and saves the cost of getting any faults diagnosed at a garage. It's specific to the Mercedes brands and will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

Ive got a clk 209 from 2008, but as with this its relatively easy once you identify where your maf sensor is 😂

Hi what symptoms was the car experiencing that prompted the replacement? Thanks Jon

Hi Jon, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The car came to me in limp mode with fault codes, DPF full and MAF faulty. The customer said that before he had the car serviced at his local garage it was free of issues, he took it back after the issues arose and they said it was just coincidence and that they would repair it but would have to charge him. I connected my diagnostic tool to the car, cleared the fault codes, adapted the new air filter ( already fitted by his local garage ) to the car through the diagnostic tool ( 5 minutes ) all good. I changed the MAF after because he had already purchased one and asked me to fit it anyway. A new air filter has to be adapted or it could show the MAF as faulty in turn putting the car into limp mode and when in limp mode the DPF cannot regenerate which will then eventually show as full.

Thanks for the guide. Which MAF brand did you buy? Merc or aftermarket like Bosch? Cheers 👍

Hi James, thank you for watching and for your feedback. The MAF was supplied by the customer, no markings to say who manufactured it but a good brand is ok to use and a personal choice.
