I absolutely love your videos. They have good lighting, good ASMR, and most importantly, really good car fixing. I hope your channel grows better and better.
Your video just helped me fix failure to idle when engine is warm and erratic idling( when I finally get her to idle). Also misfire when driving, almost as if in limp mode. I didn’t replace anything, just cleaned maf sensor and throttle body. Tnx again for good videos, new subscriber😊 ps. I have a 05’ cls 350
My w212 is having a very rough start, almost sputtering when turning on ignition on cold start, this is one of the few fixes I came across and want to see if it fixes something. How did you go about cleaning it?
What was happening that made you change it? My idle is very low 5.5 rpm. Already cleaned the throttle body. No chk engine light. Is this my problem? Or Map sensor?
It was a series of fixes to solve the rough idle and sometimes check engine lights. Yes, this is a possible issue you could have but more likely your intake is full of oil and problematic now.
@@Hondalife_8Yes, same here, it’s possible that you created a vacuum leak.. I’m still chasing it but mine runs without MAF better so I’m gonna replace it.. Did yours resolve
@zaki garage I replaced the engine mounts & transmission mount car ran really quite for a while & no jerking afterwards but after a while it went back to the same condition at start up it makes a loud noise then it jerks when driving nromal u think i should change the maf sensor or do u recommend using crc intake & turbo cleaner i am stumped at this point
If it makes noise at start up you might want to look at the engine timing. I haven't looked into this issue but read online these engines have something like a timing adjuster fail if there is loud noise at start up. But other simple suggestions I would replace the spark plugs if havent been replaced in 40k km. MAF, up to you if want to throw parts at the issue. Also, if your intake manifold is full of oil coz of the oil separator you might need a new manifold. I've installed a catch can to prevent damaging my 3rd intake manifold and been working so far. Also been using Liqui Moly Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner to clean the oil in the intake manifold lately and I think its working. Good Luck
Hi zaki, i have an e200 w212 facelift and i recently have troubles with an code P010129 MAF sensor 1 is faulty. I changed the MAF and the error remains stored. Any opinion?
I'm not aware of these MAFs needing adaptation and I'm not familiar with the e200 engine but here's some of my thoughts: 1. With sensors I try to use only the oe manufacturer e.g. Bosch is the OE supplier for the MAF on my engine. I don't know about hella but I hear and had faulty new sensors from non OE brands. 2. Make sure the MAF connector is all the way plugged in. I've had it throw codes in the past for not installing the plug probably. 3. Find a wiring diagram and check power and grond on the MAF connector. 4. When using a cheap obd scanner I found that the car only clears the codes when doing them in these steps: have ignition on engine off - clear codes - turn off ignition - wait a few secs and start engine.
Hi Zaki, I just wanted to ask what the main symptoms are when the MAF goes bad. I have same engine, and it jerks, slight gargle noise in Idle. Thought it was Secondary air pump but that noise when faulty is more whistle like.
Usually rough idle and rich\lean engine codes from my experience. But I dont know a way to check if the MAF is bad other than replacing it. I did have similar idle issues with check engine lights for a while. Can't pinpoint what exactly fixed my issues since each item i fixed replaced had an improvement on my issue (clean throttle, clean secondary intake valves, replace engine vacuum hoses, intake spray cleaner, and lastly the MAF). But also timing chain issues are common on these engines and would make noises at startup and idle. As well as intake manifolds going bad are common from the oil build up on them from the oil separator. And you mentioned jerking, first the engine issue needs to be sorted but engine mounts are a possibility here.

How did you go about cleaning it?
Do you think that the Pierbug brand is better than Bosch for the flow meter of an m273 CL550
Never used Pierbug MAF before. But for a MAF sensor I would only buy the OE manufacturer and I'm assuming its Bosch for this engine but I'm not sure.
@@ZakiGarage Thanks for your response, it does come with Bosch, but I've always heard good things about Pierbug in terms of quality.
whats the name of that holes in front of the mass air flow sensor i keep having issues finding it ...
Glad to see you keep rocking and channel growing good 🎯
Thx bro, wish had more time for more fixes and vids. No plans on bringing the red MB to YT?
Yah I understand it takes lot of time to make these videos so is hard sometimes.
Yess I have that in mind actually so hopefully soon : )
Sweet 👌🏻, excited to see some old MB beauty
If this damaged can the engine lose power or not
Would this also be m278 ?
Is the sensor itself correct? only the rubber is damaged?
Yep, it's the correct sensor.
U gotta reprogram the sensor? Or is just like take it off and put a new one, start..?
Yep, no programing needed

Just swapped intake manifold now my mercedes idles up and down and seem to take long for the revs to come down idk what could it be

Where is your workshop?
I'm no mechanic 😅, just working on my cars at home.
I've got a w212 the maf is not where that is, do you know where it is please
This is specific for the M272 engine. I'm not familiar with the other engine that came on the w212.

No need to reset the maf sensor in the software?
