Weston Park classic car show arrivals & walkaround, ft TV's Junk & Disorderly | July 2022

- July's classic car show held at Weston Park was blessed with fantastic weather and a great turnout of old cars, which was just perfect for everyone that attended - including TV's "Junk & Disorderly" crew who were filming in the autojumble area (Henry Cole, Allen Millyard etc).
The video covers many of the classic cars and other vehicles as they arrived, followed by us mooching about once the exhibits were all parked up. Our chariot for the day was the Mk1 Mazda MX5, it felt a bit of a cheat turning up in something so modern (to us), but as the cut-off is 2007 and our car is from 1995, we were well under the date limit and in fact several Mk1s like ours turned up.

Thank you for the albeit too brief view of the Lambretta.
Guy in the e type at 3.37 was lucky the other bloke in the green jag was paying attention as he drove right across his path , 😮
I look at the English Fords, and I like them much better than the giant sized, less tasteful designs they stuck us with in the U.S.
Harley wants a GT6 and you got him a Standard 8, that being sensible. He he he
One step at a time, now he's talking about MGBs ..!
@@oldclassiccarUK The lad is taking after his Dad!
Good morning Rick, Thanks for posting another great video. What's not to like sunshine and classic cars. Great Sunday morning viewing.
Thanks Dave
With so many cats why bring the mx5...
You've so many that never see daylight....
I like to alternate amongst those that are on the road. Today we were out in the Anglia at a show. Yesterday at an event in the MX5. Friday evening a car meeting in the Standard, so three different cars out in as many days, I don't think that's bad going. Plus big Dodge was out a few weekends ago. That just leaves the oldest, little Dodge (1924) which I only use locally due to its age. The others aren't on the road at the mo, plus Weston is a fair run so more suited to the MX5 than the real oldies.
What is the yellow car at 42:45? Also great video as always. I should stop watching these waiting for meetings as the urge to ooo and ahh is quite significant…
Looks like a kit car based on 2CV running gear
OOHHH I do like that Jensen SV8. Some stunners there. In China, where I have spent many years, there is a rip of for the Borgward called Borgward can you believe the Chinese bought the company in 2017 and started to product mainly SUV's. I think it was Beijing Auto bough the name etc. I have seen the cars on the road in Shanghai and they are ugly objects. What they have done to that poor RR is not to my taste.
Great collection of cars. I used to have a 1963 Super Snipe with twin headlights, it was seriously a wonderful car.
Thanks again Rick. Beautiful setting for a classic car show. I learnt a couple of things. The pale and dark blue Riley badges and the V8 XJ having the split piece of chrome on the bumper. Too had to pick a favourite there.
That was a great oily rag Triumph at about 1:19. It made me smile thinking of my friend Mike, an English teacher at a high school in Idaho. I'd pass him in his TR3a on the highway. He'd just wave, pipe hanging out of his mouth. If it was raining or snowing he would zip up the tonneau. I never saw that car with the roof up. (sorry, hood)
That black 1968(?) Zodiak has the same wheel covers my 1962 Ford Galaxie had. Interesting.
Youve taught me something. I've never seen those trafficator mirrors before. Every days a schoolday!
Excellent, and what a great show in perfect weather ! I love the Borgwards - how rare are they ! Thanks for sharing it with us again - Take care .
No apologies needed for an early MX5 with pop up headlights Guv. They can be over 30 years old now.
Yeah I know, it just feels a bit modern still to me :)
Really good thank you, pretty location, a lovely day and greaaaaaat cars. A perfect day out said Wallace 👍
My headphones are too accurate, if you have an audio meter on your recording device you might see that it goes into the red when you speak distorting the sound a little. I love your uploads so please take this comment as constructive criticism. 🙏
Ok thanks will bear that in mind :)
Although all the cars shown, I was totally struck by the Ford Transit mk2.. During my teens I rowed, and when we went to the Amsterdam Bosbaan, the teams slept at student houses, yet I always slept in the van.. It was "my personal camper" during those weekends.. The moment I saw the Transit, those memories came.. Really.. 😉 🤣
Nostalgia is a huge part of the interest in old cars and vans isn't it! thanks for watching
Strange that the German campervan was called a Bedford Blitz. Coventry Blitz I could
understand. Perhaps they didn't dare!
I'm pretty certain that it wouldn't have been on their naming shortlist. Thanks for watching
The Nissan engine in the mini is from a Micra :)
Yet another great visit to car show, bet you wouln't do one today 🤭
Those strange lookalike traffic lights confuse me 🤔
We were at one yesterday which was plenty warm enough, but agreed today might be a bit much :)
There is a classic car meet this Sunday if you're free. Its at the old Woodford Aerodrome, at the AV Roe museum. There is usually a good turn out of the rare and unusual to look at.
I might get to it, not sure yet as I really need to catch up around here a bit, dad's involved with the museum so he'll be there I think
Another Great Video and many thanks for your kind comments on my Ford Consul mk2 convertible
Glad you found it of interest, really liked your Consul!
thank you for bringing us this classics we can only dream of.
wondering what camera your using?
Thanks, it's a Canon Powershot
great vid as allways thanks looks like less cars there than normal tho
It was a bit quiet to begin with but we were there early, this time of year there are lots of shows over the weekends plus fuel costs might put off a few people from travelling..? thanks for watching it
Fantastic share as always with your unique brand of knowledge and dedication to classic vehicles.
What a great video, thanks for showing us.
Glad you enjoyed it
Son is impressed with the "hot rodded" Rolls, Dad not so much!
Wellll not really my thing but it looked like fun
Always nice when you spot yourself riding past on the bike! 👍🏻
Also had a Z3 2.8 wide-body facelift. At the time, living in Penarth and working in Aberystwyth, and doing a weekly commute up Monday and back Friday. There are lots of routes between the two places, but I'd always drive clockwise to keep the sun behind me. This meant that the first part of my journey home on Friday was on the A40 between Aberystwyth and Llangurig. Lovely twisty mountain road much favoured by bikers. Many's the time I've switched the traction control off, and steered it round the tighter bends with my ass. And there's a chicane on one stretch where I could floor it in fourth. No fun these days it's all spy in the sky. Thanks for a great video; the RRs were lovely, especially the 20/25..
Thanks Hugh, yes the 2.8 was a lot of fun and with a great soundtrack too
A wonderful walk around video, thank you. Your most knowledgeable commentary is always appreciated. The pre-war Austin and Morris saloons were just glorious, as was that terrific Series 2 Minor. Thanks again.
Thanks Mike, pleased that it was of interest
Do a astle park steam engine rally Show
There's this one already on my channel: ruclips.net/video/E3FJ2vD9NEw/видео.html
Why so many adverts spoils the video
RUclips drops them in automatically, sorry
As ever I wonder exactly what ''classic'' means.
Welllllll there are plenty of opinions on that one :-)
Very very loose term now.
Well done.
Wot Show is it please
Weston Park, as it says in the thumbnail, description and in the vid I think. Thanks for watching
BEST SHOW I EVER WATCHED .100 OUT OF 100 . WELL DONE
Thanks Howard! it was longer than I'd wanted it to be, but usually I manage to trim things back to a more manageable length
Jensen cv8 😊 👀 👍
Great isn't it!!
This is only a quiet observation; your son whom you patronise continually and appears desperate for your approval, may not like to wear a cabbage hat trawling local events..it is possible he may like aquire a pretty girlfriend...it's his future too and not only an extension of yours.
Local events are precisely that...an occasional event
??? nobody forces him to come along, and I do not patronise him continually
Mr. Hermit sir, view (son) Harley's channel, Car Traction The host is an amiable young man with an enviable vocabulary and the intelligence to employ it effectively. It is his output, not dad's.
i would like to see an Anglia Sportster with the sparetire at the back please
I know one or two companies produced kits that enabled owners to mount the spare on the back ("Continental" kit I think) but I don't remember when I last saw one for real. Somewhere I have a large illustration of an Anglia with a Continental kit on it.
